  1. I miss so many things and this time of year really brings out things that I love. I love all kinds of baked goods. Most of all this Christmas I'm going to miss my mom's homemade hot chocolate. It has no gluten...but it's made with milk and the chocolate has soy in it. I've given up soy and dairy. I really miss a great slice of pizza. Yesterday I drove...
  2. Swedish meatballs, noodles, corn bread and some sort of veggie.
  3. I'm so sorry. (((Hugs))). I wish I had some good answers for you, but I just don't. I hope things get better for you.
  4. The parade was last night...on the way we stopped at Gluten Escape. It's a gluten and nut free bakery. Perfect for our family as 2 kids also have a peanut allergy. We each got something different so we tried 5 things in total and everything was yummy. It was so nice to eat somewhere that we would all be safe.
  5. It takes me at least 24 yours to feel it too. I'm sorry this happened to you. Good for you to take the day off work and take care of yourself. Hope today is better. ((((Hugs))))
  6. I am so easily grossed out. I wouldn't be able to eat broccoli for a while after that. Come to think of it...my gut still can't deal with broccoli...makes me sad because it's good stuff.
  7. It turned out so good. My husband took leftovers to work and said it was even better the 2nd day. Totally make it!
  8. I'm glad you found something to try and I hope that it works quickly!
  9. I second waitingindreams on additives. I was having a ton of bloating even after giving up gluten, soy and dairy. It turns out the carrageenan in almond milk is a cause of digestive upset for some. Once I cut that out my bloating went down a lot. Another thing is inulin (also called chicory root fiber)...for me this caused cramping and gas. It was in...
  10. Nicole, I miss being able to pick up a pizza too. Especially on busy sports nights, when one kid is at one park and another kid is at a different part. It was so nice sometimes to pick up a pizza or chick-fil-a on the way home.
  11. I saw at Costco today, two loaves of Canyon for under $8. Don't kn ow if you have a membership, but that's the best price I've seen. Almost $8 for one loaf is too much!!
  12. Awesome news for you! Great job not giving up about the test. I'm so happy for you!
  13. Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans.
  14. Absolutely! I used to be such a foodie. I love to cook, bake, eat, go out to eat, etc. Now I have a lot of fear when it comes to food. I eat to live now...sometimes I ha en to force myself to eat because I really don't get cravings anymore.
  15. Sending you ((((hugs)))). As a mom I can't understand it. I can't imagine treating my children that way. Moving out will be the best thing for you. If you can do it sooner...do it. If not, be gone as much as possible. You don't need the stress of a toxic situation. You are trying to heal your body. Best wishes to you.
  16. Oh...I'm so sorry. What a struggle! I want to send you (((hugs))) and positive thoughts. Do try to get in to see the Dr sooner...you deserve to feel good. I also understand the fearing food part. I used to be such a foodie and now I fear it. Kind of sad.
  17. Tonight we are having roasted chicken, roasted root veggies and a tossed salad.
  18. A fellow celiac recommended ferrous gluconate to me as a former of iron. It had been recommended to her as being easy on the gut and really helped her. I just started taking it yesterday as my ferritin is 15 (15-150 being normal)...no issues yet.
  19. Avoiding soy completely is so hard...it is in everything. Why? No clue. Good for you though to enjoy your weekend, have some good stuff and then get ready to start again. I was pretty much living on almonds for a while. Then gave them up trying to see if it would help my digestive issues. When I tried reintroducing them I got very bloated and burpy...
  20. It's cold today...beef stew in the crockpot and corn bread to go with it.
  21. Hi mbrookes...it went really well. I didn't get glutened. Yay! I had a bit of an upset tummy the next day but I think it was all the rich food. Lots of butter...not always great for someone without a gallbladder. It was my first Thanksgiving without gall bladder too.
  22. Thanks all for your ideas and support. I'm still anxious, but determined to have a good day. Happy Thanksgiving to all!
  23. Lol Cap! Love you doing that with your food. I took the pumpkin roll out of the oven a bit ago and when my 3 year old got up she said, "mmm...what's that good smell?"
  24. Hi mamaw...I agree...Part of my fear is just eating at someone else's house. I've been pretty much eating at home and doing all the cooking. I am bringing the dressing, corn bread and 2 desserts. I think know everyone will enjoy them. I'm going to try to just enjoy the company. Thanks for the well wishes!
