  1. I'm going to Quebec City in July for a short vaca with mum. Does anyone have any recommendations for places to eat/stay? Thanks!
  2. How about next Friday, the 12th, after work, say around 6 for those of us that are nearby and others can filter in as they arrive? I really, really hate the Outback - I think their food is dreadful but I can always make do. Someone said there is also a legal Seafoods around? Does everyone like seafood? I do think we should make reservations, yes? So...
  3. HA! No, No...not sure why I said I posted at 2:30 or whatever, but I was at home and it was near 7. Although a liquid lunch is not unheard of at times....
  4. I am not afraid! Okay so here goes...first gluten-free beer ever is in my hand, and I'm about to take the first sip... I'm nervous as all hell because I LOVED beer prior to my dx. And I'm not talking Bud Light - I specifically loved IPA's because of their tasty hops...I see the word "lager" on the Ramapo bottle - SCARY - never did like lagers...
  5. I'm definitely in - just tell me when and where - I don't know about everyone else, but after work is best for me... but I could come down on a weekend as well so how will we recognize each other? Do we paint big gluten-free signs on our chest??
  6. Oh you do, do you? I actually went to Reading on my lunch break - I picked up two six packs and left two on the shelf. I thanked him for stocking it! Thanks again for getting him to stock it!!! Perhaps we should meet up one day after work??
  7. Thank you so much for doing this!!!! I work in Billerica and can easily shoot up there on my lunch break. This is so awesome I miss my beer! Thanks again!

    ARCHIVED Dh

Thanks Ursula - god, that's what it looks like, but it's hardly as itchy as the description says it should be and I've been gluten-free for 6 months now, with no accidental glutenings in the past 3...I just looked at pictures of PI and it certainly doesn't look like that - it's not blisters by any means. Can you have DH and not be itchy???

    ARCHIVED Dh

I can't tell if I have DH or Poison Ivy. I'm not allergic to PI so I don't get a severe case. Usually I get a mild rash and it clears up in about a week, and there is hardly any itching. I have raised bumps on the underside of my forearms that are just not clearing up. Granted, I've been gardening every weekend, and there is PI near my garden, but...
  10. The Smart Balance Light container is also clearly marked gluten-free
  11. I am in the Print industry and let me say you wouldn't lick an envelope if you knew the process at most printing vendors. It is NOT sanitary!!! For the most part envelopes are stored in an open, dirty and dusty environment and then, unless the envelopes are blank, they run through a machine press to be printed. Envelopes run through a press with the flap...
  12. I'm not 100% on anything yet, however my sister said to me recently that as long as she could remember I never had that "mommy instinct" - didn't play with dolls, never played house...I still don't have that instinct, or at least I don't think I do. I've just never had a desire to have kids - so that, combined with my health issues, makes me think that children...
  13. I share your concerns with having kids. I feel like I run the gammut of autoimmune diseases/disorders (T1 diabetic since age 3, Celiac and underactive thyroid). I'm more concerned with my child getting Celiac than diabetes- perhaps it's because I've lived with diabetes nearly my whole life, and Celiac is so new (dx 6 months ago), but I do feel the Celiac...
  14. I bought the Palm Z22 specifically for the Clan Thompson lists and for keeping appointments. It's a very basic model who's gimmic is that it's easy to use - and it is! Not only that, but it only costs $99. It does have a color screen as well. I have been very happy with it!
  15. I was dxed T1 when I was 3 - have had diabetes for 25 years now and was dxed with Celiac 6 months ago. I was dxed because I was having an upperendoscopy done to see if I had diabetic gastroparesis (I do) and while he was in there he did a biopsy. Apparently he had seen the bloodwork and wanted to verify. None of this was told to me so when I was informed...
  16. My vote is to have a gluten-free wedding - it's your wedding, your big day and it should be what you want and can eat!! I hardly think most of your guests would even know...as for the cake, I wonder if you'd be able to find a bakery or caterer that could accomodate your needs?? I'd say have a gluten-free cake for all! My mum makes a mean gluten-free cake...
  17. Hey I was there too!! I was up in the State Street Pavillion boxes (old .406 club) and the view was awesome!!! my first trip to the stadium this year - god, each year it looks so different - I saw they added more seats to the green monster too! yeah they had us screaming to the very end that's for sure! Papelbon sure gave us a good scare!
  18. This was a good article and very accurate in my opinion - enjoy! Open Original Shared Link Ehrin
  19. I go there daily and have had no problems.
  20. Oh I'm aware!! We have it on in one of our conference rooms. They also brought in a hotdog steamer and tons of snacks for the occaision - I asked them to get Kayem hotdogs, cause I know they're gluten-free had a couple, sans bun of course! And Patti you are more than welcome for the article! Peace Ehrin
  21. Here's a link to the article that the Lowell Sun carried pertaining to this! Open Original Shared Link
  22. Both of those should be gluten-free! I've had both either in jars, or off a salad bar, and have been fine!
  23. I got the phone call last week that I'm developing and under active thyroid. Apprently I'm on the border of the abnormal range (not sure what the physical # was). So my endo and I decided to start therapy immediately because "it is bound to happen." So now I'm taking 100 mcg of levoxyl. I'm definitely not as sluggish as I have been this past month. I...
  24. Hi Carol - I've been gluten-free for 6 months and instantly felt better. No more stomach cramps, bloating or excessive trips to the bathroom. Perhaps you have another allergy? I'm relatively new to this forum myself, but have noticed that many others dxed with Celiac have other food allergies. Hang in there! Ehrin
