  1. I know you're oversea's - we have something called Killz - it's not a primer (can be used that way though) it's a sealer, and is especially for this type of situation. Before you paint or whatever you're going to do you need to clean it as best you can, seal it, then paint or wallpaper. Any hardware store will have a Killz type product. The house I just...
  2. I also have the zojirushi and love it. I bought it for about $199 on amazon (okay I lied, mum bought it for me), but it bakes great gluten-free bread!! I read about bread machines here and bought it based on the fact that it has two arms. That seems to have been the most common complaint, that those with one arm could not mix the gluten-free dough.
  3. Did you call to verify that the Chromagen is gluten-free?
  4. I get some serious migraines if I've been glutened. I never had them prior to diagnosis and now I find it's one of my symptoms if somehow a nasty molecule somehow makes it's way into my body.
  5. Caramel color - IN THE US ONLY - is gluten-free. Where was the vanilla made? If it was made overseas then it could be the culprit - otherwise it's safe. **Edited to add the caramel color is safe, don't know if the product itself is**
  6. I have Bette Hagman's The gluten-free Gourmet Bakes Bread in front of me and her flour mixtures call for egg replacer. Now, do I have to use one? I have no issue with eggs - and in fact some of the recipes I see call for whole and egg whites as well. If I don't use the replacer do I need to add additional whole or egg whites? Thanks!
  7. It does not appear that you have T1 diabetes - T1 diabetics are HYPERglycemic - where our blood sugars run high because our pancreas has stopped producing insulin. T1 diabetics are always diagnosed with high blood sugars not low. (Other common symptoms are frequent thrist and urination, a funky acetone like smell and weight loss). Your pancreas is obviously...
  8. I agree that you could avoid trace amounts, if you blow your bubble up and never come out. Doesn't seem like a practical solution. You should minimize how many times you eat out (I went from weekly to monthly, if that) and do the best you can. That's really all you can do - do the best YOU can, because it all boils down to how vigilant you want/can be...

    ARCHIVED Gastroparesis?

I may be able to ease your fears a bit. The way my GI doc dxed with celiac was during tessting for diabetic gastroparesis (see sig) While I has having the upper endoscopy done he went a step further and took a biopsy of my intestine. So...I come to and he tells me that yes, my stomach was not emptying and gave me a script for Reglan - a really nasty...
  10. Thanks everyone! I'll be heading down for Thanksgiving so I was thinking I may go a day earlier and stock up!
  11. Now...I know Massapequa - that's where mum's family grew up and they now reside in before mentioned Aquebogue and Jamesport. Now...would Massapequa be closer than East Meadow?
  12. You would not lick an envelope if you saw the process that gum gets on there. Think about it - an envelope goes through a, not so clean, manufacturing process. You are not only licking that gum, but CAN be licking cleaning agents that the press' use as well as oils and dust and mites and mouse droppings. Seriously it's GROSS!!! As for ATM envelopes...
  13. These are fun!! Thanks for the diversion! 1. FIRST NAME? Ehrin 2. WERE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE? nope - 3. WHEN DID YOU LAST CRY? today listening to Howard Stern of all people 4. DO YOU LIKE YOUR HANDWRITING? nope it's crap 5. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LUNCH MEAT? Ham 6. KIDS? Hate them - I'm one of those adults that talks to...
  14. Thanks! Aquebogue is right next to Riverhead...does that add up? I will ask my Uncle, who is retired at 50, to make the drive... Thanks!
  15. Are you able to tell me where East Meadow is in relation to Aquebogue or Jamesport? I have family in both those towns and if close enough I'm sure they'll pick it up for me! Thanks
  16. One word - Sex. I finally desire to have it again! My boyfriend is ever so appreciative! Also the constant bloat being gone...
  17. I have a real hard time eating those buns - at 280 calories (I could be off a few here) and 66 grams of carbs it's a diabetics worst nightmare. And they're too big!! I can't even get my mouth around a burger or dog in those buns...are there any that are better?? Less caloric, less carbs and not as huge?? It's the first Kinnikinnic product I've tried and...
  18. In my wheat eating days I liked dense, seed filled breads - full of fiber, but I want nothing like that now! I want something like wonder bread! I think it's cause all the gluten-free breads I've had are pretty dense that my pallet would like something, shall I say, crappy? I'd love to get a spongy bread, layer some bologna and american cheese, a...
  19. Does anyone have a favorite bread from Bette Hagman's The gluten-free Gourmet Bakes Bread? Mum bought me this book and Zojirushi Supreme bread machine. I'm really looking for a sandwich bread - it seems like the Four Flour Bread may be best?
  20. Check the Kosher section of your supermarket...I bet you'll find it!
  21. My thought on this is how did you come to your diagnosis? I received my diagnosis because I was an advocate for my own health. I knew something was wrong and I insisted that something be done about it. I actually walked into my GI's office and said "if people felt like I feel, after I eat, they wouldn't eat." I have a feeling you probably did something...
  22. It's near N. Attleboro - almost in Rhode Island.
  23. hmmm I see your point! Well I wish you luck! Are you going to stick with it? Or try something else?
  24. Yes - it's made by Kraft and is near the parmesan cheese (the green containers of it). Cabot also makes one that is gluten-free - but I don't think that's as readily available. Edited to add this link: Open Original Shared Link there is even a zip code store locator. All cabot prodcuts are gluten-free by the way.
  25. Yes it did work, but did it make me hair free? NO!! And that's what I was excited about! I thought, wow, two birds - one stone. But I am a hormonal nightmare...nature does not want me to be hair free. Now if you are losing layer after layer of skin I think you have your answer - you have to stop. Have you been to the dermatologist? Is there...
