  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. I have some suggestions for you! Most bars will make a mojito now w/o rolling their eyes - Mojito's are rum based so they are safe! A Rum Punch is also good - very fruity, uses pineapple juice! I tend to drink mainly vodka drinks...I have yet to find one that has bothered me as all are distilled and the flavored varieties are safe as well... So...

    ARCHIVED The Bleus

In response to your question on the crumbles - Many restaurants and grocery stores (think salad bar) add wheat to the crumbles to prevent them from caking and to bulk them up.
  5. Are you taking any other medicactions? If you are you could be having a histamine reaction to one of the secondary ingredients. I know personally if I take a pain med, such as viodin, I have a horrible reaction!
  6. Does anyone happen to know if the Maalox Multi-symptom is gluten-free or not? I've seen older posts from 05/06 stating Maalox is a no-no...but nothing recent and this type of Maalox was not around then. Any info would be appreciated! Thank you, Ehrin
  7. Hey Bobbi - I assume you're going to A Market to get a bunch of your stuff?? I'm not sure if you are aware or not, but there is a new Health Food Store that opened on 28 Bypass - I think it's called Natural Market? Anyhow, I haven't been, but my friend scoped it out and they have nice gluten-free section and they aren't as pricey as A Market! Just a...
  8. Red Bull is chock full of caffeine, and caffeine helps with headaches!
  9. I live in Manchester and I have been told that there are groups in Merrimack and Keene: CSA Southern NH Celiac Support Group 80 Affiliation: Celiac Sprue Association Merrimack, New Hampshire Contact(s): Maureen Shelley (Merrimack) phone: 1 603-429-1228 I googled for Keene info but didn't get any hits! I personally haven't gone - but have met...
  10. I also had problems with them when I ordered my first new bracelet, in good grief, 20 years? I just wanted a new pink emblem, my old one was so scratched and worn that you could no longer read it. When I called to order my new one I wanted the same verbiage: Diabetes Insulin Dependent The CSR said she'd just put T1 Diabetes on there and that it'd...
  11. I'm not sure if procedures are different, but with my biopsy they didn't put me to sleep - they just "knocked" me out. I was awake, but was not conscious if that makes any sense? It was kind of like a large dose of laughing gas...I really don't think you want to be awake for this, mainly because if you have a knee jerk reaction, while they're down there...
  12. I have T1 diabetes (27 years), PCOS (4 years), Celiac (2years) and hyperthyroid (1 year), not hypo - so yes it's possible. I am an autoimmune nightmare! Some thinking says that once you have one autoimmune disease you are succpetable to all of them. I often think, my god what is next! But so far it is nothing I can't handle...so I chalk it up as a...
  13. Kraft Cheez Whiz is gluten-free as well as Velveeta
  14. Anyone know where I can get them? I need them for a savory, not sweet tart I'm making. I'd preferably like to order one pre-made, because I stink at baking - but if need be I'll take a stab at making it. Thanks!
  15. Would you mind sharing your mom's recipe?
  16. I need to know if this ham is gluten-free or not - BJ's is absolutely no help in the matter... I don't trust the glaze packet, so I wont use that and the ham, itself, looks safe to me but am wondering if anyone has a concrete answer - the ham is cured with: Water Sugar Salt Potassium Lactate Brown Sugar Sodium Phosphates Sodium Diacetate Sodium...
  17. I was up in our condo this weekend and had heard on the NH Celiac board about Rafferty's. The owners' daughter has celiac disease. They have a dedicated fryer for all fried foods, which consist of typical pub fare: Nachos, CHEESE FRIES (SO GOOD!!!) Buffalo Wings tater skins buffalo tenders! they also offer gluten-free pasta's (at the same cost...
  18. I've had Ramapo and Bard's - Ramapo is very sweet and more like a mead - Bard's Tale is a flavorful lager - similar to Harp and I quite enjoy it! Although, I did like very hoppy strong Ales - Harpoon IPA was my absolute fav so strong beers suit me quite well!
  19. Yasmin is also safe

ARCHIVED Recommend A Doctor In You State

Dr. Richard Schwartz 190 Groton Rd, Ayer MA (978) 772-7500 I also cannot say enough good things about my GI doc. I went in complaining of severe bloating after eating - I didn't even know what celiac disease was. Because I am a T1 diabetic he suspected diabetic gastroparesis and did an upper endoscopy to see if my stomach was dumping it's food. Well...
  21. Not the regular size ones, but the bite size one's do have gluten.
  22. Please be aware that most commercial soy sauce has wheat in it. Lay Choy is gluten-free as is most tamari's.
  23. I actually find that 30 minutes of hard cardio help with my symptoms. Prior to diagnosis I would always work out when I felt my belly well up with gas - at the end of that workout the gas would magically disipate! (My main symptom is bloating and gas). So yes, now with my diagnosis, I do work out if I have been glutened and it still helps.
  24. I do try products that have that warning and if I react I put them on the no-no list. Such as Lays Staxx - I've reacted twice to those so they're out. But I have had success with quite a few other products that have that warning - I have yet to react to a Trader Joe's product with that statement. So I suppose what I'm saying is you really wont know if...
  25. I also like the Tinkyada pastas - as does my boyfriend and roomate! I also use the Trader Joe's brown rice pastas, but I like the texture of the Tinkyada better.
