ARCHIVED Pamala's Chocolate Chunk Brownies
jnifred replied to imsohungry's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I have found that the Pamela's brownie mix makes better cookies and cake than brownies. I like the Namaste brownie mix. I would guess you over baked it.....good luck next time -
Regarding the flipping of the ravioli......I am honestly not sure WHY I do that.......it may not be necessary. I just wanted to make sure both sides were good and cooked. The first few times I made them they were very messy, falling apart and all, but I have found the right thickness now and they are a bit thicker than old ravioli, but they are trully delicious...

Some Chevy's, if they aren't too busy, have fried separate chips in fresh oil in a pot. Ask the manager, some will, some won't........I was at a Chevy's on a Sat. nite at a mall and they made some fresh for my table.....it was awesome!!! as far as filled ravioli's go i have figured out a pretty good substitute, takes a little work, but they are really...

don't know if anyone else has suggested this, but my kids LOVE to have a baked potato sent in their lunch box. I stuff it in a hot container after it is cooked (micro)(like you would put soup in) and then put the "fixings" in small bowls in their lunch bag. Takes a couple minutes in the morning to put together while the potato is in the micro.

jnifred replied to ebrbetty's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I LOVE the Namaste mixes. The spice cake is a favorite around my house. I amke it with carrot shavings, zucchini shreds or apple sauce and top it with my homemade cream chees frosting and it never lasts for long. I made the chocolate cake for Grant's b'day (11yo) and topped it with marshmallow stuff and it was absolutely divine!!! Make the brownie's all... -

ARCHIVED Is It Possible To Be Overweight And Have Celiac?
jnifred replied to azmom3's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I am so glad this question came up. My aunt keeps saying she can't have Celiac b/c of her weight. I am going to show her this. I always thought it might have something to do with metabolism too. Personally I have so much more energy now that I am off gluten. -

hmmmmm are you sure you're not my other half?????? I was diagnosed with clinical rhuematiod arthritis after the birth of son #2. ARCHIVED Tortellini And Ravioli
jnifred replied to jnifred's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
it's a St. Louis thing. THey are breaded and sometimes fried or you can bake them. Filled with a meat mixture and then you dip into marinara. Olive Garden used to have some, but they weren't very good. The fresh ones you get in St. Louis are incredible!! I grew up on them, one of my favorite treats and I have got to figure out how to make them gluten...
