  1. you are awesome!!!! That is why when we eat out I prefer a sit down restaurant to a fast food place, I feel more comfortable knowing that someone is going to looking out for ME, when I explain the situation, and we always leave extra tip in that instance, always left 20% anyway, but now I add a bit more if they did a great job with my meal. Even bad service...
  2. thanks for that icing recipe...I will have to try it for my youngests birthday cake I will be making next week!, sounds yummmmmy I made a cake last week with Namaste and made the icing from a box of french vanilla pudding mix, a pkt of Dream Whip topping mix and 1 1/2 cups milk with fresh strawberries and blackberries on top. It was delicious!!!!
  3. ok, so I have been thinking a lot about this topic, as it has been at the forefront for the last several week of posts it seems......so anyway I know McD's says the fries are gluten-free, testing done etc.personally I seem to be fine eating them......but there are a lot of you out there who still get sick from eating them. What about cross contamination...
  4. Amy, You sound like my twin. I've been dealing with various things for years. My mom saw a show on Discovery channel and called me excited b/c it described us to a tee. So I called my friend who has Celiacs and actually asked her about symptoms and etc. Never before that b/c it just never came up and I didn't want to pry I guess....anyway, so she tells...
  5. I called them a few weeks ago just to be safe and as someone else stated it is Kraft and is fine....the phone rep reverified it for me.

    ARCHIVED Chillis

I have had great luck so far at my local Chili's too......the manager was very helpful and our waitress too. I always get the chicken fajitas with a plain unmarinaded chicken (the marinade has soy sauce in it!!) and no fajitas obviously, ask for more lettuce and veggies and have done ok so far, 3 x's since October when I started this. And the chips and...
  7. It'll jsut take time.....I baked constantlybefore gluten-free from scratch also and am leaning on a lot of mixes right now until I am more comfortable with the gluten-free flours, I did bake some banana muffins that came out great, I will check in the AM for the recipe I used, I need to find it anyway as I have some banana's that are going to need to be baked...
  8. I'm not sure it is a brandy, but I love Frangelico over ice....nice to sip...
  9. Just pick the chicken out!!!! THat cracks me up!!!
  10. You will have to make them yourself, but they are the BEST crackers I have tried so far, even my nonceliac friends request them. Use the Chebe mixes, any of them work for this, and they even ahve a cinnamon flavor that tastes a lot like cinnamon graham crackers. Anyway, follow the directions on the package and roll it out VERY thin and bake until crispy...
  11. I made a cake with Pamela's brownie mix for Valentines day for the boys in my life, iced it with a french vanilla pudding mixed with one pkg of dry cool whip and 1 1/2 cups milk with fresh strawberries and blackberries on top. OOOOHHHH MY, that was the BEST cake EVER, and I have been singing the praises of Namaste chocolate cake, but I have to say that Pamela...
  12. Honestly, one of the best things for me going gluten-free was finding out the only cereal I could eat was Cocoa Pebbles (can't stand fruity!) , I always ate "healthy" cereals and would not give in to my craving for Cocoa Pebbles, and now I feel like I have a "jsut pass GO" license to eat them, I still don't have them more than once a week, if that, but just...
  13. First off, it is sooooo easy to make gluten-free pizza. I have it several times a month. The Chebe mix is incredibly easy and then you throw some gluten-free past sauce on it with cheese and veggies and voila, a beautiful pizza in half hour and waaaaayyyyyy better than any old Pizza Hut pizza, AND I don't get sick afterwards!!! What is better than THAT...
  14. You are a breath of fresh air!!!! I do not have full blown Celiac but definitely gluten intolerant, however, my friend who is Celiac does get facial tics esp when she has been glutened. They are hardly noticable, I don't think I've ever noticed them, they are more of an annoyance to her. Hopefully she will see this and post more to you. I completely...
  15. modified food starch and natural flavorings...bingbingbing.......I'd either call the manufacturer directly and ask specifically if it is gluten free, or I would make my own. Personally I'd make my own
  16. Havent tried the vanilla cake, but the chocolate is AWESOME!!! The best one I've had so far, moist and not gritty at all!!!!! Really couldn't tell it was gluten-free. BTW>...what brand of frosting are you using???? I am still experimenting in that area. Dickenson Family Lemon Curd only has "natural flavorings" listed that makes me suspicious,...
  17. I've used Gluten Free Pantry mix and Pamela's mix and I have mixed my own. I have found that it depends on what I am making. Right now I have a ton of Pamela's and so pancakes and etc are being made with that. Chebe is the only way I'll go for crackers and pizza crust.
  18. For years I have had issues with getting a relaxing nights sleep, I've been dealing with Rhuematoid Arthrits issues also. Once I started taking a muscle relaxer I found that I could sleep for a normal period of time and wake up rested and was having dreams again. I hadn't even realized that I wasn't dreaming until I started having dreams on occasion. ...
  19. Me too, chocolate in any form is a BEAUTIFUL thing!!!!
  20. It wasn't Fridays, can't remember which one, but I had all the sypmtoms and it is the only thing it could have been. Thanks though for letting me know that Friday's is OK, that makes me VERY happY!!!! I always forget to check those lists, and am still getting used to checking every label. I don't eat/buy a lot of processed foods and so most things...
  21. Oh, Spaghetti squash is a fav of mine, been eating for a long time, even before I knew to go gluten-free!!!! You can also mix it (after it's been steamed) with a can of seasoned tomatoes, parmesan cheese, fresh basil and garlic, then bake and you have a yummy wonderful casserole/side dish
  22. I halved the oil and replaced it with a small indivdual size of applesauce (somewhere between 1/4-1/3 cup). They were fine, yummmy!!!! and as good as "normal" brownies, and I have tried SEVERAL different mixes, so far these are the hands down winner in my house.
  23. All I know for certain is that Mudslides are out, had some last weekend without looking at the label and it has caramel color in it and boy did I feel it . very sad over that, now I have to figure out how to make them myself. Had martini's at New Years and was fine with those, used Skyy vodka in those. Haven't had any issues with rum, Bacardi and Appleton...
  24. haven't tried Pamela's cake mix yet, but her brownie mix makes the best double chocolate cookies!!! As far as the cake mixes I have tried, the Namaste has the best texture so far. Gluten free Pantry was good, but still a little grainy for my taste. Namaste chocolate cake is VERY rich and moist and just yummy, I used homemade chocolate butter frosting...
  25. Red meat does not sit well with me usually. Can have a small amount sometimes, but for years have not been able to eat a steak or etc, without problems
