  3. We are leaving for an 8 day cruise in the Carribean Sat. I ahve talked with the travel agent and will talk with the maitre'd as soon as I get a chance, but I am still very nervous. I am taking snacks for myself, glutino pretzels, some Chebe crackers I made, nuts, snickers bars and figure I should be able to find fresh fruit anywhere we are. Is there...

  6. tea bags, tropicana?????? that is BAD. I didn't even think to look there. I have an entire shelf devoted to tea bags. And it does make sense re: tropicana, I always get sick from drinking it, thought it was the acid. And yet I am able to suck on lemons and limes iwthout a problem. duh!! This is crazy. I got mad the other day and ate a store bought...
  7. Yep, teeth grinding, jaw clenching all the time. Couldn't chew gum, eat bagels or etc. anything "chewy" was out of the question for YEARS for me. I am sooooo much better, still can't do anything too chewy and of course bagels are off the list of availablity for me, but I am able to chew gum and I don't have the pain in my jaw that was there all day every...
  8. Mine were in "normal" range, but I discovered that I've been eating a very low gluten for a long time without knowing it, without even realizing what gluten is. The difference after cutting out that last bit of gluten has been huge, my arthritis has not had any major flareups since, my jaw is better, sleeping better and I'm not even going into the BM issues...
  9. This is my sugaar cookie recipe I have used for years and just substituted Pamela's Baking and Pancake mix. They turned out really well, not too sweet, crisp and yummy!!! We ahve 4 boys under the age of 12 and are a ON the GO family!!! Quick and easy is my way of life. Some gluten free staples in our house are Delimex Brand Beef Taquitos Thai Kitchen Stir fry noodles...

I have tried the Tinkyada, great stuff, jsut finished making casseroles for dinner tonight with it, BUT I am originally from St. Louis and we have something called toasted ravioli that I am going to miss DESPERATELY and NEED to find out HOW I can make it on my own. It is ravioli stuffed with a meat mixture and coated with bread crumbs and then either baked...

    ARCHIVED Joints Pains, You Too?

I was diagnosed with clinical RA and/or Ankylosing Spondilitis about 5 years ago, had joint pain and swelling for over 9 years though (tried to ignore it for almost 4). I test negative for every rhuem test ever done on me which baffled my docs, but they said a certain % of people with RA don't have any of the blood or genetic markers, soooooo I was on on...
  14. I get that sometimes, comes and goes with no reason for it. It is a very strong smell and just nasty, never have figured that one out and I never know when it is going to happen......should mention it to the doctor I guess...... I am still new to the gluten thing too, but I noticed a difference in a matter of days as to how I was feeling. I haven't noticed...
  15. I've been making Thai Kitchen Peanut stir fry noodles and Pad Thai for YEARS, Thankfully it is gluten free and I can continue eating it. My whole family loves the stuff. Good luck....

  17. My blood tests also came back in all normal ranges, but you know what??? I don't care, I have been gluten free for about a weel and feel better than I ahve in AGES!!!!! If I have a flareup then I'll re-evaluate, but for now I am gluten free. And I started really looking at my diet and over the last 3-5 years I have slowly been cutting out gluten without...
  18. If you want the mushroom flavor, you could dice the mushrooms, saute them in a little butter, then when they are soft, add the cornstarch and then the broth, stirring the whole time so there are no lumps, but cornstarch doesn't usually lump if it is mixed before adding all the other stuff. Good luck......
  19. peeeeee-eeewwwwww is all I have to say to that.......Oh yeah!!!
  20. I will contact Newman's, that is the dressing I like anyway. Is apple cider vinegar ok to use in any recipe calling for vinegar??? Is it too sweet??? I know I can do this, It really isn't that different than the diet I have had for the last few years, unknowingly...

  22. I don't have much to offer really except my husband gets rashes in between his thighs, but he uses cornstarch every morning and that seems to help, he has large thighs and they rub and cause him to get abrasions, the cornstarch for whatever reason helps him at least. Oh My, I jsut reread that and it sounds soooo funny to me!!!! Oh well..... Oh and...
  23. That's the other thing, I always gained a TON of weight, 45 lbs at least and I always watched what I ate while pregnant, could never figure out WHY I was gaining so much. By the time #4 came along, I just told my new OB to leave me alone about the weight gain, I would gain a ton in the 1st and 2nd trimesters and then slack off in the 3rd and I always lost...
  24. I am just starting to figure out this whole Celiac thing, and may have had it for YEARS before now, but I have always felt great during all of my pregnancies. I am wondering if that is normal for a celiac to feel better during pregnancy??? I have always eaten a fairly low gluten diet without even realizing it, and when pregnant I always craved (more than...
  25. Thanks, I was jsut experimenting these past few weeks with gluten to see if it did make a difference. I am eating gluten now to see if I can get a true reading when I go to the doctor this week. I was only off for 5 days but it made such a huge difference. If these come back negative I am going to pay for the Enterolab testing. My itchy spots are back...
