  1. Hum, I have Fair Neutral (Buff??), but I have no comment on my spreadsheet, lol. I also don't have a checkmark in any of my 3 columns: Love, SoSo, or Hate, lol.

I've used Fairly Light Neutral...that looked good on me...okay, that was the background for...

Ivory--Ivory was a little light for me, but the day I wore it, everyone kept complimenting me on how I looked, lol. So, compared to Fairly Light Neutral, I'd say Ivory is a little lighter.

Haven't really answered your question have I...must go home and find out what happened to my Fair Neutral and why I haven't tried it yet, lol.

  2. You are safe Paula...I am waiting until the 25th before I order anything, lol.

Wow, what a boring special.

Okay, so I think I've mentioned before how the eye colors don't really show on me...the lighter ones all look the same and the darker ones just sort of make my eyes look dirty...I was reading a thread about this very thing on the EM sight...and someone mentioned something about rubbing. Well a thought came into my head about applying it with my fingers. When I do this on my arm (to test a color), it always looks suitably pigmented and pretty, so this weekend I did all my eye shadows with my finger.

Whoala, it worked, lol. I could actually "see" some color even with the lighter shades. I haven't tried any of the dark colors yet...just been using the one color each day, but it's kind of nice to actually be able to tell what color I'm wearing, lol. So, now I'm retrying all the shades I didn't like before to see if it makes a difference having it be more pigmented.

Today's color was Baby Bath. Nothing really wrong with this color, it just didn't show up on me, so today I used my finger to apply, and while it still isn't a "color" it showed up a little better.

Okay, off to check the EM website...changes in the kits already, lol... see what I get for not turning on my computer all weekend?!

  3. You guys wouldn't have even counted this one .... just some minor shaking ....

Yeah, most times I barely notice them. We had a 5.whatever a few years ago...my dog looked concerned but I just lifted my head and said, oh it's only an earthquake sweetie and went back to sleep...she calmed down and went back to sleep too.

  4. Not to mention, I'm sleep deprived from having to wake up at 8 AM to get to stupid Quest labs again...for them to send me away AGAIN because they "didn't understand the Dr's orders!" I told them I did and I'd explain it, but nnoooo they don't believe me!

Ugggg, stupid Quest! They actually called my doctor the last time I was in there because they didn't understand the test she was ordering, lol.

I have a job interview next week for part time work at a local theatre--which would hopefully mean LESS time at evil Panera-kill-me-Bread. Crossing my fingers!!

    Good luck for your interview!!!

We had an earthquake this morning!

Welcome to our world, lol! We haven't had one in a while so we're due...maybe you got ours, lol.

  5. Andrea, the good thing about EM is that it's pretty reasonably priced compared to other mineral brands, and you can get free samples (you just pay $3.95 for shipping) of the foundations and blush to you can try out colors before investing in big containers...they also have two sizes...smalls and larges so you don't have to get huge containers if you don't want them.

  6. What were those mold plates you guys were talking about, Donna I think and Rachel?? Did they measure the mold, or pick up if it was in your room/house??

The plates did measure the mold. The mold plates I got were plastic jars with lids. They have some sort of gel stuff in them. You open the jar and leave it open in the room you want to test for specified amount of time (I can't remember how long now), then you put the cover pack on, tape it, label it. When all the jars are sealed you put them in foil and ship them to the company. The mold grows on that gel stuff and the company measures how much mold grows. There are some guidelines...for instance, the jars should be placed 3 ft from any walls, stuff like that.

My bedroom had some mold, but it wasn't horrible. The other place that had moderate mold was my kitchen. My bathroom was low as was my spare bedroom. On a scale of 0-10, my living room was a 10! The mold they found was candida.

It is such a small thing to most, but HUGE to us. I feel the same about EM. I know it's hard to understand our excitement and giddiness about a makeup line, but I wouldn't be wearing makeup otherwise because I have reacted to everything else. So it's been fun to partake in the girlyness

Yes, it really is, lol! And same as you, I wouldn't be wearing makeup if not for EM!

Im afraid if someone comes and cleans it out they will just blow the mold spores all over the house.

    ...

Im just sitting here in tears and feeling so overwhelmed. Then hearing on different websites that you can die from mold toxixity is just scaring the crap out of me.

Thanks for letting me ramble, I hope i made sense lol

You made sense, I couldn't tell if you were thinking of cleaning it yourself, lol...I was pretty sure you wouldn't, but just thought I'd throw that out there! Blowing the mold spores around is a real possibility, especially if they are not experts in mold removal, but I still think that even with the experts some of the spores are going to be released. Stupid mold can definitely make us really, really sick. I really think most of my symptoms are from the mold issue not lyme and not even the metals so much.

  7. Im not sure if i want to just clean it all out here, or buy an new house and sell this house as is lol.

If you are reacting to mold definitely DON'T try to clean it yourself!!! That would definitely be bad. Even if professionals (who are experts in mold removal) come in to clean it, don't be there when they do, lol.

  8. Oh...I forgot to mention something exciting that happened...about a week ago I wore earrings!!! A small thing to most people, but as most people on this thread know, I've developed a strong sensitivity to metals, including gold. Since I've been in "treatment" for the lyme and system support for about a year now, I decided to give them a try again. I wore them for probably about 8 hours, and my ears didn't hurt and there was no oozing or cysts in the holes! That is a major improvement over the last time I tried!!!! I only had them in for a couple of hours before those symptoms came up.

I haven't tried again...sort of afraid to push my luck, but it's nice to know I could wear them again once in a while. I have 4 holes in each ear, so I've got LOTS of earrings I want to wear, lol!

  9. So, Donna, what was it, some kind of wicked cold, or what?

It was some kind of wicked cold/flu hybrid, lol. I had fever and chills, head congestion, but hardly sneezed, extreme exhaustion, ear pain (thought it was going to be an ear infection at one point) and blockage (could hear popping when I swallowed, etc), etc. etc. What scared me was that I didn't want to eat....I NEVER get like that, lol.

I barely coughed, but when I did it was wicked and productive, but my lungs were clear (not sure how THAT is possible, lol)

It started with a really, really bad sore throat, which I thought was going to be strep, but it went away in a couple of days. I saw signs of sinus infection, but my doctor didn't think it was a sinus infection. So, yeah, some kind of evil hybrid that lasted a whole two weeks.

I'm still feeling the effects: extreme exhaustion and some congestion, runny nose and cough.

  10. Thanks Rachel...it's good to be back among the living, lol! :P

I had heard the same thing and i cant remember which ones they were either lol. That is why i thought i would ask here lol. I will do an search on this thread and see what i come up with, i just hate doing searches when it has an 3 letter word lol

I picked the Wispure because it was highly rated (at the time I was looking) by Consumer Reports. That was one of two that they said actually did what it was supposed to, lol. I can't remember what the other one was, but it was more expensive than the one I bought, BUT it didn't have a HEPA filter, so in the end I wish I got that one, lol. I wish I could remember the name of it...I think it was Friedrich.

  11. I find myself reaching for Floating Feathers a lot recently to use as a base. It's great when I don't want the peach undertone that Good China has.

Does anyone know the details on the new kits that are supposed to ba availble on the new website? Have they said any more about the samples of the different products that they were going to make available? I just checked the calendar, and I have a 3 payday month next month! I plan on investing some of my money in some new EM.

Yeah, I finally pulled out the Floating Feathers myself. I'm using it as a highlighter under the brow and on the inside corners of my eyes. Don't know anything about the kits, but I've got one started sitting in my cart, lol.

I just felt like ranting. Sorry. :D

Rants from the founder are perfectly acceptable!

Sorry about the jacket...so far I haven't had that on my clothing...my washcloths are probably stained to high heaven, but my clothing not so much yet, lol.

  12. SUCCESS!!!

    YAY!!!!

My dentist knows and regularly performs amalgam removals. He did say Acrylic works better and seems to be in favor of it. What is a dam? vapors? I know nothing about this process. It's not that he doesn't care or wont do it right, it's more that he is always too busy to actually talk about it until i'm in the chair. which yeah, not the best.

A dam is a rubber thing that they fit around the area being worked on--it prevents any amalgam pieces (or at least reduces the chance of it) from going down your throat.

Vapors are released when they drill the amalgams...those are dangerous too. My dentist had a HUGE vacuum hose by my mouth/nose to draw the vapors away...that hose was vented to the outside of the building somewhere.

Okay--sorry for the multiple posts, I got excited about my picture and forgot to conserve space. Don't be mad! The sun is shining!

Who could be mad with that cute picture!!

  13. Does anyone have an air purifier. Im looking into getting one cause my oldest son has bouts of asthma and now my 8 yr old might have asthma. I also have many allergies and so does hubby, that is why we think we are so sick. Also im sure mold spores are still somewhere in the house.

I looked up air purifiers and went to dr mercola's site and found this one

    Way Healthier Home

  14. How do i get a cute little picture when i post like some of you have? I have one on my profile but it never shows up. :(

There are two places to load pictures. I think where you have yours is on your personal page. Anyone who clicks on your "profile" will see that picture. You would also need to load it in the Signature Section under something called "Avatar Settings" (or something similar).
