I have had an awesome day today and im not going to let no answers get me down.
This is a great attitude!
Is it cheaper tho to do it yourself then to go in once an week. Im cusious on how expensive they are. My nd did say they might benefit me some, but i told her i had to get back to her, of course i have to research it lol.Well, I figured it out last night after I posted. It's WAY cheaper for me to do it myself.
My LLMD's office charged me $39 to give me the shot. Some of that would be reimbursed by my insurance I think, but not sure yet because I haven't received anything back yet.
My HN doctor's office just charges me my "co-pay" which would be $15 per shot.
Each of the home shots will cost me $5.06, so yeah a lot cheaper in that regard, but don't know if it's reimbursed or not yet. I'm trying for reimbursement, but I can always put this on my FSA if I have to I think.
Donna,Ouch! That seems expensive to me! Mine came pre-filled. Do you have to fill yours? Can you get them through the Pharmacy I got mine at...Lee Silsby Pharmacy. They were great about everything. I think it's a compounding pharmacy.
So, are you getting 2 kinds of b-12 in one shot then? I think I only get methyl b-12, but I'm not sure.
Yes, I have to fill my own, they are not pre-filled. Next time I may just ask for a script, although it's mighty convenient just getting it from them, lol. There is a methyl B12 vial and a BComplex vial...I put 1cc of each into the needle. Almost all my doctors want me on a BComplex for some reason, lol.
Hey and I was able to do the math.LOL:oI can't tell if it's helping me anymore. It use to give me a little energy but now it's not. I may discontinue after seeing the llmd.
Yay on the math!!!!
I think they are really helping me. I noticed when I stopped taking the B12 sublinguals I felt a drop in energy, but I think they also want me to take it for other reasons. I've read somewhere about the B vitamins helping something, lol. Wish I could remember what it was...I keep thinking it was something to do with pathways or detoxing/chelation, but now can't remember. Must see if I can find that. I DO think it helps my adrenals like Nyxie said, so that may be why.
Here's a couple of sites about Chinese gua sha. Notice that this technique may impact the fibrin issues we've talked about. Also it is usually done by folks here at home on themselves, so it can't be that hard to learn. There's a book on it, mentioned on these sites. Thanks for all the websites!!!! This sounds like something I could try at home...UNLIKE ECOFFEE, lol.
Sorry if I've missed anyone. Still kinda whifty today.Sorry for your whifty day! Can I just say that your posts always make me smile!

The shots, lol. The Methyl B12 vial was $85.00, the B complex (it's a mix of the two) was $39, needles/syringes were $24. That's enough for 30 injections...if I do one a week that'll be 30 weeks worth, if two a week then only 15 weeks. The doctor said I could do either 1 or 2 injections per week.
Maybe next time I'll ask if I really need the BComplex, lol.
I know I read somewhere about prescription vitamins being covered, but not sure if it was my insurance stuff I was reading or my flexible spending account stuff. Either way...I'll submit it to the insurance company first then if they won't pay I'll submit it to the FSA people. They SHOULD pay for the teaching part which was 40.
I'll be fine at home with the passing out thing, lol. I think if I'm at home in my comfortable surroundings with a couch handy I'll be fine.
-
Birdy,
on the biohazard/cough thing.
Kassandra...do you mean for the phone consult??? They didn't call? Wow, I wonder if the days got mixed up. The rest of your day sound great though.
Everyone,
Well, I survived the shot training, lol. AND, I got to meet Rachel again, and neither one of us was passed out. Yay.
It was a close call for ME though.
I did the injection myself, and it was great...didn't hurt or feel a thing...except just a slight weird feeling, but it wasn't pain or anything, just a weird "gosh there's something in my leg" feeling.
Then as soon as I was done I started feeling sick, and knew if I didn't recline a bit that feeling would turn into a "blackout" feeling.
So, it was close, but I was able to recline and all is well. Took me a couple of minutes to compose myself, then got to see Rachel again at the reception desk.
I'm hoping my insurance will cover at least part of the B12...it's expensive, lol.
-
Ohh, more fun, lol!
Looks like a lot of us ordered Pink Ribbon this time...it will be fun to compare it with each of us.
-
Oooh, everyone's orders look so fun!
Donna, by now you've got to be their #1 customerWell, it took me a while to place my order because I had to rearrange my eyeshadow sampler yet againI think Mango may have me beat on the #1 customer thing.
Yes, I figure I'm frustrating those packers watching the big screen. I put another couple of kits in my cart earlier today...I expect they're getting my little basket of stuff ready...BUT THEN, I just went in and changed it all again.
With this next order of small/sample sizes, I will have all but just a handful of the eye colors, lol.
-
Elisabet,
I'm not Jin or Rachel, but I say your English is fine!
Good luck at your appointment! I am sure you will do fine. Just take a deep breath. Shots are not that bad. They hurt more when you look, though.Unfortunately I HAVE to look, lol...I'll be giving it to myself and it might be kind of hard if I don't look.
-
I have a mental image of a room full of ladies watching a giant screen with the orders on it waiting for you to hit 'go' so they can pack the box.
I can't even imagine how that can get TO all the stuff in that amount of time. It's not like I only ordered 1 or 2 things, lol. Of course, they've had plenty of time to look at my order since the stuff has been in my cart since my LAST order.
I've already got the next order in there too.
They must be INCREDIBLY organized, lol. Dang thing is shipped already too. Amazes me.

April,
I'm not sure about the detox for mold toxins...cholestyramine is supposed to (according to some) help detox the mold toxins, but my doctor will not prescribe it for me. He REALLY wants me to fix the mold problem. He is delaying all other aggressive treatments until I take care of it. He may not even do a provoked challenge for metals, if I haven't begun progress on fixing the mold. Problem is, I can't see any mold. I don't know where it is exactly. I know my livingroom tested high, but don't know where it is because I can't see it. Anyway, I digress...the cholestyramine is actually even supposed to help with people who are still exposed to mold.
I never finished reading it, but while reading Mold Warriors, it sounds to me like the detox from mold exposure is not that easy.
I don't know, I'm actually thinking of asking him to retest me for molds. I was getting allergy shots that included MOLDS. I haven't been getting those shots for a couple of months now, and I'm wondering if that will make any difference. I don't feel particularly worse in bad weather like we're having now, so I'm not as convinced as he is that it's my environment, lol...maybe just grasping at straws (in fact, probably am). I've been tested for environmental allergies three times (skin scratch all three times) and molds always comes up a 10 on a scale of 1-10. My LLMD did a blood test and all three of the bad molds came up elevated.

CARLA!!!
WOW!!! That is the best news...what a great way to start my day!!!
That, and CHARLIE is back! Yay!
Woohoo, a good day all around!
Egads April...I don't think I could have done that math test either!!!!
Paula,
Looking forward to hearing your results!
Lisa,
Great analogy...I don't remember hearing it (and I read Yeast Connection, lol).
Kassandra,
Will be thinking of you at your hema's appt! No, you should not have blood drawn on Friday...if he agrees, I'd insist on going in for the draw on Monday--it needs to be shipped on the same day so it arrives as soon as possible.
Sherry,
Well, I haven't been as strict on my diet as I should. I'm the opposite...I CANNOT lose weight. Normally, when I eat this low carb, I lose all kinds of weight, but it is NOT budging this time and I'm not sure why. I think the parasites can have something to do with it all, but not sure exactly how. In my mind it seems logical that they (the parasites, lol) could affect different body functions differently in differet people (did that make any sense at all, lol).
Everyone,
Okay, keep good thoughts for me today...today is my appointment to learn how to give myself B12 shots, and I'm being a big fraidy-cat, lol.
-
So, within 1 minute of placing my order, it was PACKED!!!!
Gotta love this company!
Here's what I ordered:
Custom Kits: Mini Eyeshadow Kit

THE NEW SPECIAL IS HERE, THE NEW SPECIAL IS HERE {{{she says in her best Steve Martin impression}}}
Welcome to the madness Susan! Truly...I've been using BE for YEARS now, and this is every bit as good. It may take you a while to get the right shades, but once you do I think you'll be pleased, and yes, for the same amount of money I would have spent on just a couple of BE products, I've been able to sample TONS of new colors.
To everyone,
I MUST apologize!!! I've been leading you astray! I, for some reason, get Chit Chat and Nick Nack confused. I don't know why, but I do, and in fact I HAVEN'T EVEN ORDERED Chat Chat yet.
I am SOOOOO sorry.
NICK NACK is what I have, and love so much.
Egads, stupid LYME BRAIN!
It seems the rest of the EM bunch cracked under all the pressure, the days and days and days of waiting, carefully selecting all of their kits, colors, and accesories, and then NO announcement early in the dayThey packed it in for the night with heads hung low
They'll be in for a wonderful surprise when they check in in the morning
.
I hope you all didn't empty your carts, or worse, I hope Donna didn't end up placing her order anyway
I was on the verge of cracking, but didn't! I was a true cult trooper and held out until this morning!
Don't know what I'll do with ANOTHER angled brush, but I think I can find something to do with the extra fan brush.
Psssst. It was probably a good thing that I had another choir practice last night, so WASN'T HOME, lol.

12 mg is a high dose, right? My bottle says don't take more than 3mg/day (24hours) , lol. Does it leave you groggy during the day?
I've read that it's good to start out at .5mg and see if that works first. Have you heard anything like that?
Nope, not groggy...heck it barely helps me sleep.
I've even taken more in the middle of the night when I wake up and that did nothing, lol. They had me taking valerian root, and that actually made me more hyper.
Yes, I've heard something similar about dosage, but no specific amount...just that the lowest effective dose should be taken. 12mg is a REALLY high dose, and I wouldn't advise anyone doing that without the consent and knowledge of their doctor. I think I started years ago with 1mg, and it did nothing. In November of 2006, I started seeing the BioHealth doctors and they had me take the 3mg time release. That basically did nothing either, lol, so after trying a few different combos of other things, they had me just increase the dosage, but they want me to try without now that I'm doing the neurotransmitter supplements.
-
I take two kinds of melatonin...both are time release. I take a tablet form, and then my doctor wanted me to try a sublingual, so I'm taking a liquid sublingual in addition to the tablets, lol. Once I get settled down with all the neurotransmitter stuff that I just added, I'll try slowing weaning off the melatonin.
-
And this snippet:
Side Effects and Safety
Pregnant or nursing women and the elderly should avoid activated charcoal.
Activated charcoal should not used concomitantly with medication or nutritional supplements.
Activated charcoal can cause stools to appear black. Other side effects of activated charcoal include nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, or constipation.
Although there haven't been adverse effects in amounts used in nutritional supplements, there are no studies on the long-term safety of activated charcoal in humans.
-
Andrea, that is such a LONNNNGGGG drive!
I hate driving, lol.
Julie,
Yeah, I think I'd take charcoal away from everything. I wouldn't even take it too close to a meal. Here's a website I came across once that has some info (although it's geared towards kids it still has some useful info):

Warning...CRAZY talk about to occur:
I was just thinking...I've received SOO much free stuff that I may actually just place my order anyway, lol. It's not like I can't place another one if they put up a really good one.
I'll think on this overnight--I may come to my senses while sleeping.
-
Donna, do you drink caffeine? I read some really good information about caffeine poisoning and I honestly had most of those symptoms until I went light on the caffeine. I'll try to find the link to the article and post it.
No. I used to but haven't in almost a year...not even decaf or diet sodas, lol.
I think it would be work it to try the melatonin...I have to take a huge amount of it, but it does help. (Although my doctor would like me to try a trial period off of it now that I'm taking the neurotransmitter stuff.)
-
Ladies....we should all go empty our carts right now!!!!!!!!!!
The thought sends shivers down me spine!
We must have wiped them out with the freebies, lol.
-
Definitely TORTURE!!!! We're the sweaty smiley when you need it?!
-
How did you find out your neurotransmitters were off and what other symptoms do you have? I'm curious what kind of testing you had done.
I think the new doctor that works in my PCP's office will be willing to test me for different things when I have the chance to go back and talk with her again. She is really nice and listens. Her whole family is in the medical field. I might actually switch to her as my primary later on.
I see mostly integrated doctors, this particular one is part of the BioHealth system. They are out-of-network for me, but I have pretty good insurance that pays 70% for out of network. The office I go to will also bill my insurance company, so I don't have to pay up front. It's an integrated office in that they have a chiropractor, physical therapist, nutritionist (who is very celiac knowledgeable, lol) and internist. They work together as a team to treat each patient...they actually have meetings about ME, lol.
Here is a link to the main website:

They ran some tests from a place called NeuroScience.
Open Original Shared Link
The first test I took a few months ago was strictly for the neurotransmitters. I did a urine and saliva test for that. The second test last month was a combo neurotransmitter/adrenal test. I had my adrenals tested last year, and they wanted to see where my levels were now. Not much improvement I'm afraid. They are most likely being surpressed by the lyme, metals or mold toxicity.
As for symptoms, I have extreme fatigue. I can hardly get out of bed in the morning, and I also have energy dip in the late afternoon. Around evening I start normalizing. I go to bed at 9:00, and usually fall asleep right away, but wake up at 12 or 1:00, 2:00, and 3:00 (have to get up for work at 4:20). The first test I did a couple of months ago, they had me do the saliva test when I woke up the first time in the middle of the night so they could see what my levels were then. The test I did last month they had me do at the "normal" times for adrenal testing, which is usually 4 times throughout the day.
I get "dizzy" at time (like my brain is disconnected and just floating around inside my head). I actually have a TON of symptoms, but not sure what is related to what anymore, lol. Oh, and stressful situations definitely make things much worse.
I have to say that most of my doctors now are out-of-network and are more integrated...it's expensive, but this is also the first time that I've actually been able to find out WHY I feel the way I feel. I still DO see a PCP for annual check-ups and for "regular" labwork, etc.
I know many people hesitate to pay for expenses out of pocket but when your health is suffering and the HMO folks aren't helping much, sometimes there is no choice. I am not a medication person and feel they should only be given when it's a life threatening or quality of life issue. HMO doctor's push pills that treat only the symptoms so people don't get good resolutions to their problems. I have found alternative medicine to be a life saver for me. You should be able to find someone good in your area and if there is a wait to be seen, they are probably good.I agree!

I was kinda of bummed (pun intended) that they didn't do pictures during my colonoscopy. Asked the GI about it and he only says they do that if they find anything interesting.
Ruined my holiday card plan for this year. Was going to send out cards with the following message "Thinking of you in this season". The folks I like were going to get a copy of my CT scan. The ones I didn't like were going to get ones from the colonoscopy.
OMGosh, you would have loved the lovely color photos I got, lol. One VERY nice shot indeed, lol. It took my mother and I a long time to figure out just what shot it was, but when we did it was just HILARIOUS. I do admit though that most of my pictures (two sheets of 4 pictures) were of my upper digestive system...esophagus and stomach and upper intestine (they did a endoscopy at the same time). I think there was only two shots of the lower half of the body, lol.
-
OMGOSH, THEY'RE TRYING TO KILL ME!!!!
It's 6:35 Pacific Time, and the new specials (should there be any) are NOT posted yet.
Egads...I woke up at 2:15 a.m. and immediately started thinking about the stupid NEW specials.
If I didn't have to fire up the ole computer and wait for a dial-up connection, I might have gotten out of bed at that very moment!!!!
Kassandra,
I haven't gotten around to some of the other products yet, but I think I might try the wipes and at least one of the cleansing bars.
Joni,
Nope, you're a member for life now!

I don't want to make any grand predictions, but I felt better today -- less nausea, more energy.I was trying to pat myself on the back this afternoon just for having managed to stop eating sugar for two weeks, something I've never pulled off before in my 43 years on the planet!
Florence, YEAH, on feeling better. I get periods where I am extra thirsty no matter how much I drink, and I've not really ever connected that with anything...maybe I need to start keeping a better journal, lol.
STOPPING SUGAR FOR ANY AMOUNT OF TIME IS HUGELY IMPRESSIVE!!! (Sorry to shout, but that made me excited, lol!) Congratulations!
I am going to talk to my nd today if i can take charxoal at least. Is there any side effects to it? and what brand is best, or does it really matter? Maybe i will just go search it lolFrom what I've found on the Internet, the side effects are pretty few and far between, but just like anything else, there may be some people out there who can't take it. It's generally pretty benign though.
Here is an excerpt from a website post on activated charcoal:
Side effects
Charcoal may cause constipation when taken for a drug overdose or accidental poisoning. A laxative should be taken after the crisis is over.
Activated charcoal may cause the stool to turn black. This side effect is to be expected.
Patients should consult a doctor if they have pain or swelling of the stomach.
Interactions
Activated charcoal should not be mixed with chocolate syrup, ice cream, or sherbet to make it more palatable. These foods prevent the charcoal from working properly.

Ok just one more question before i head out the door, Would people with parasites be more likely to be skinny then overweight because the parasites eat the food. Or is it like with celiac some are skinny and malnourished and some are overweight.
I see that Rachel posted an EXCELLENT excerpt that answers this. I am not underweight and at the present time am about 10 pounds overweight. So yeah, don't have to be skinny, lol.
Thanks! I hope so too! Tomorrow I will know. I already have all of my records together, symptom list typed up, along with the "chain of events" that got me to this point AND the tests and questions I think I need. He he! So, I hope I leave there with a calm feeling that he will be able to help me get to the bottom of this. Can't wait to hear what happens!
I love how she says this...all nonchalantly...like it happens everyday.no kidding! Wicked sense of humor she has, lol!
I ahve had a really bad 3 days now - worse than usual I am thinking about making an appt with the women who does my muscle testing to see if i can get some insight into what exactly is making me this uncomfortable. I really hope she can see me I think she is in the city today.Sounds like an excellent idea!

Joni, I would try 1mg tonight. 1mg is still a safe dose. It seems like I've also read where some people may have to take it for a few days in a row before it starts working.
