General Precaution on Mineral based make ups....
For those who have metal allergies (nickel, silver, gold, etc.) mineral products could irritate the skin and make you develop additional metal allergies...so proceed using the product with caution.
Thanks! Do you have any links? I tried doing a search but really couldn't find anything specifically addressing the metals issue. I don't have an allergy to metals that I know of, but I have heavy metals toxicity.
To everyone else,
While searching on this I found this link...apparently they like our Everyday Minerals too, lol:
Open Original Shared Link
And a little excerpt from the link where they mention OUR cult obsession, LOL:
Where to Purchase
Mineral makeup can help you achieve radiant, glowing skin. If you worry about developing an allergy to mineral makeup, remember to research ingredient lists prior to purchasing the product. The following brands carry extensive mineral makeup collections that do not contain known allergens:
J.Lynne Cosmetics
Monave
Lily Lolo
Everyday Minerals (italics are MY emphasis, lol)

Rpm, that's great! Just FYI, there are western blots from different labs...you'll hopefullly have the Igenix western blots!
-
Ha, right after I posted that I couldn't get to the website, I FINALLY did, lol!
Nope, no order waiting for me...the stupid status still says "with delivery courrier"! I can't take it I tell you!
 I'll have EYESHADOWS to play with...10 of them!
-
Good grief girls...I haven't been able to get on the site all morning and I've got the sweats!
-
Yeah, chicken broth should be okay as long as it doesn't have starches added...not sure why it would, but you never know what they put in stuff anymore, lol.
I've been thinking about soup too. Hum, maybe that's what I should have for dinner! Chicken soup!
I LOVE salad, but I can't have the dressing anymore because of the vinegar, so there's no point, lol. I've tried with just olive oil, and with olive oil and lemon juice, but I just can't get used to it.
-
Paula, I wouldn't go overboard on the rice cakes though...can you eat brown rice? If so, you could get brown rice cakes, but I'd still limit them. I know on the anti-candida rotation diet I did, rice was limited to a 1/2 cup serving. That's not a lot, lol!

Morning everyone...again looks like everything was well covered, so just saying "HEY"!
Man, LN can get really intense!!!Sheesh, people get really upset over things! I wonder if Lyme does that to the brain? LOL! Carla, do you think it's real that Dr. B is posting? Or do you think it's a set-up?
Yeah, that's one reason why I don't post much over there. I don't feel like I can discuss certain things over there. That's why I LOVE this place so much. No one judges you regarding what you believe as far as treatments go.

Thanks for the info Michelle! I'm calling my doctor's office tomorrow to talk with the nurses about all this!

Paula,
I drink mostly water--lots of it. I drink hot water when I'm cold and cold water when I'm hot, lol. I also drink the Pao D'Arco tea, but only once or twice a day. Sometimes, I'll have a little coconut milk and make myself a little "hot chocolate" with it, but I limit that because the chocolate (unsweetened cocoa powder) isn't good for me (I tested badly for chocolates of all kinds, lol).
I think lemon water would be just fine. I stay away from prepared beverages mostly because of the processing and chemicals, but if you can find a nice natural flavored water (as long as it doesn't have sugar in it), that might work. I stay away from artificial sweeteners for mostly the same reason...chemicals and most of them are made with maltrodextrin or dextrose which is a sugar. So currently the only sweetener I use is stevia.
I'd be careful of ham...if it's smoked you may run into a little problem, but if it doesn't have sugar or isn't highly processed it's probably okay...I just wouldn't eat a ton of it.
The turkey sausage just has turkey in it, which is why I like it so much. I think they use some spice, but it doesn't have gluten and it doesn't have sugar. I can't remember the name of it though. It's in a white box and they have two versions...patties and links. I've only seen it at Whole Foods, but I don't think it's one of their brands.
The only reason I have a snack so close to bed is because I was having symptoms of low blood sugar in the middle of the night. My doctor wanted me to see if snacking before bed would help that.

Paula, here's a typical weekday when I'm working:
5:00 a.m. (home), a few slices of the pre-cooked bacon (this will have to change soon though)
8:20 a.m. (work), 2 Xlarge hard boiled eggs
11:00 a.m. (work), 7 oz of ground beef and about 1/3 to 1/2 bag of broccoli
3:00-4:00 p.m. (home), steak, chicken or turkey and lots of sauteed green beans or other green veggie (sometimes I have peas if I'm having chicken--peas are higher in starch though)
8:30 p.m. (home, about 30 minutes before bed), a nutrition bar with some nut butter on it (usually cashew or macadamia nut) This snack will be changing to something more anti-candida as soon as I can figure out something
Here's a typical day at home (like weekend or holidays):
6:00-6:30 a.m., 2 Xlarge eggs and a breakfast meat...my whole foods carries a turkey sausage that would work for the candida diet, but they've been out of it forever now, so that's why I'm doing the bacon, but the bacon has sugar in it soI need to stop
11:00 a.m., ground beef patty and some kind of veggie
3:00 p.m., same dinner as weekdays, or sometimes I'll have something special like duck
8:30 p.m., same snack and same bedtime, lol.
My diet is pretty boring, lol.

The order I places on Saturday STILL hasn't been received by the post office! The USPS site still says "electronic information received." Humph.
You know, it may just show up on your doorstep before that info changes, lol. USPS never seems to track well for me, lol. I hope that's the case for you, lol.
I know what you mean about stepping outside of my comfort zone. I'm excited to try greens and golds and bronzes, lol. I normally stay with the same sort of neutral pinks...it's exciting!
-
Ha, no trip for me I guess...status hasn't changed...it's still out with the delivery courier. I guess I can wait tomorrow {{{she says with huge disappointment in her voice}}}
I was waiting to see what the new special would be, but they extended the old one until January 9th. Decisions, decisions...Wow, I was all excited to see what the new special would be today, lol. Oh well, I THINK I can wait until the 9th. Maybe. Possibly.

Welcome Nooner!
Florence,
Yeah, I have raw cashews...I should switch to those to eat with the bar...that seemed to work just as well and would probably have a lot less mold.
I don't think you're delusional, lol...sugar feeds the bacteria/yeast so cutting down starves a few of them out, which helps all bodily functions. I don't eat much fruit anymore and when I do I tend to go for the low sugar/low mold stuff, so haven't had grapes or dried fruit in a long time. I tend to buy frozen organic peaches...in the summer I whirl a few of them up frozen in a smoothie made with egg white protein and stevia.
My beef isn't grass fed, but it is antibiotic/hormone free...I buy it at whole foods. I WOULD buy the grass fed, but they don't have a 9% fat ground beef, only 16%. I guess I could buy that and just eat LESS, lol.
I am currently NOT on a probiotic which will make ALL my doctors unhappy, lol. I ran out and just haven't bought any more. I should probably order the VSL#3 or the Theralac, I haven't tried those nor Threelac. I was taking one called HLC that I get from my doctor's office, which seemed to sit well with me.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!
My new avatar is me and Janet/Darn210 today. How exciting...another meet-up! Very nice avatar!
Thers some other stuff I want to reply to but will have to wait till tomorrow....believe it or not...I made plans!!TRULY EXCITING!!!!! Yay!
Donna, hooray for your diligence...you are setting a good example for me! lolOn critter watch but nothing too significant yet on the Humaworm ride.
Sherry...you'll get there! It was definitely hard to stick to it yesterday...I kept thinking about that FUDGE all day, lol. Finally, for dinner I had a little bit of sweet potato. Yes, mindfuly of the heiniosity that befell Rachel, I kept my portion to only 1/4 cup...yes I measured the stupid stuff, lol. It was just enough to satisfy the sweet craving, but probably a lot better for me and less kaotic to the candida.
Ha, the Humaworm! Look for rice.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!! I hope everyone had a good night (i was asleep by 11 and thats late for me)Happy New Year to you! I really hope that soon you will feel good again! It's been such a long tough road for you. I don't have any advice for you, but it sure sounds like you had a good sized herx.

Well DANG!!!!
I just checked the stupid tracking thing and it says it's with the delivery courier! DANG!!!!!
It's being delivered to my work, and the STUPID OFFICE CLOSED EARLY TODAY, lol!!
Torture I tell you!!!
I left at 12:00 and right before I left, I checked the status, and it hadn't changed...it said it was at the facility. So I just checked again, and it says it's out for delivery!!!
I hope SOMEONE in the mail room stayed late, lol. If the dang thing says delivered before tomororow afternoon, I'm taking a ride up there (a 30 minute all freeway drive one way, lol) because any self-respecting makeup cult thread participant COULDN'T just let it sit there could they?!

Happy Birthday Florence!!!
I haven't gone super strict YET, but I've cut out all obvious sugars. For sweetener I am using stevia. Up until the day after Christmas I was using a lot of agave nectar, which is supposed to be low glycemic, but the amounts I was using probably negated that. I was also eating quite a bit of chocolate.
In addition to candida, I have mold toxicity...the mold automatically predisposes me to bacterial issues, so I really need to be careful with molds, fermentation, yeast, etc. If THAT wasn't enough I have lyme disease, lol
So, since the day after Christmas, I cut out all obvious sugar. What I am still eating that will be cut out soon: some pre-cooked bacon I buy at Whole Foods...it lists sugar, so that will have to go. The other thing I'm still eating is a low glycemic nutrition bar I get from my doctor. He seems to think it is low enough so as not to cause problems with the candida, but I'm not so sure.
Other than that, I eat eggs for mid-morning snack.
Ground beef and broccoli for lunch.
Either beef or chicken or turkey and green veggies for dinner.
Right before I go to bed I eat the nutrition bar with some cashew butter or macadamia nut butter on it. I'm doing this as an experiment for one of my doctors, lol. I may switch to a small apple with the nut butter though. Eventually I'll need to cut out the nut butters too because of the mold issue, but I just can't do it now.
I take a TON of supplements for all my issues...I've lost track what is specifically for what, lol.
I know the Pao D'Arco tea is for the candida.
I take Caprylic Acid for the other bacterial dybsiosis I have...I had a Doctor's Data test which showed that Caprylic Acid was effective against ALL my bacterial stuff. I need to switch soon to Oregano Oil...that also tested well for the bacterial stuff.
I'm taking two herbal drops called Banderol and Cumanda...I rotate those every two weeks. I think both of those are helpful against the bacterial stuff.
For the last year, all of my doctors have been working on getting my system functions back to where they should be. My adrenals are shot, and there are some other issues as well, so the doctors really wanted to make sure I could handle all the treatments. We've been supplementing minerals/vitamins, adrenals, etc.
-
Paula, I don't even TRY to stay up anymore...I go to bed at my usual 9:00 and sometimes the firecrackers will wake me up right before midnight, but if not, I sleep right through it, lol.
Happy New Year to everyone! Have a safe one!
-
Donna, 'just' isn't a word I'd use for the candida diet lol! Good luck
Okay, well, yeah, lol. It's pretty darned hard. Someone put FUDGE in the kitchen by my desk today...OMGosh PEANUT BUTTER FUDGE and regularl chocolate fudge...the longest three minutes of my recent life was when I had to heat up my lunch in the kitchen with that there.
Plus I don't think they really know what is "acceptable". What is acceptable to me is NONE!!! LOLI agree completely!!
Do you eat eggs every day? I love eggs but had cut them back to once or twice a week since we all (I think) came up with eggs on our ASYRA. I used to eat them at least 4 times a week, and I always have 2 at a time....
Do you guys think I need to work on having some animal protein more frequently, instead of the major bulk of it being for dinner? Sometimes I have some protein earlier in the day.....depends on leftovers.
Yeah, I've heard it's good to have protein at every meal. For me, I have to have protein AND fat at every meal.
I eat two eggs every day. Amazing when I think that a year ago eating eggs (in certain forms, but not others) caused me to feel nauseated.
Oh duh, sorry, that should have read: what is an LLMD and ART?LLMD = lyme literate medical doctor
ART = autonomic (SP?) response testing, its a form of muscle testing, but is very accurate from my experience

Who knew Mango would start a monster cult-makeup thread?I was thinking when I started this that a monster cult make-up thread was just what this board needed.
Yes because Lord knows I don't have enough monster cult threads in MY life!
I'm not silly enough for the silly thread, so this was JUST what I needed!
So.........I am afraid to sift through all of it.......what is the consensus on the best choice as a concealer? is it actually the concealer?I'm actually just using the foundation as a concealer...not sure I'd say it was a best choice, though, but certainly the laziest choice.
Has anyone tried DVR Saturday? (Donna, I think maybe you ordered it?) I'm thinking my blushes need to be pink with no brown or orange. That one looks like it might be good. I'm also wanting to try Pink Ribbon...and Natural...aaahh so many choicesYes, I really like the pinks with no hint of orange...Weekend Getaway wasn't bad for me though. I ordered DVR Saturday...it's amongst the goodies at the DHL facility down the road from where I WAS at work, lol. It probably won't get delivered until Wednesday or Thursday though...
-
My husband is very - ahem - "appreciative" of how good it looks (nudge, nudge, wink, wink). That should probably be included as a disclaimer on the EM website.
I think I need to bake him some chocolate chip cookies as a distraction.
an interesting side affect, lol!

Happy New Year to all the sillies!
-
Susie, I'll just be trying to stick to the anti-candida diet...that's pretty hard for me, lol!
-
Yep, I stated mine the day after Christmas. I've been a very bad girl and really need to get serious, so I couldn't wait even until I went grocery shopping. So far so good! My hardest time is at work...for a couple of reasons. First, I'm usually just bored, lol, and when I'm bored I want to eat, and usually want to eat sweets. Secondly, this office is full of sweets, lol.
-
OMGosh...my order is in Redwood City....That's just down the street a few miles, lol. I can probably drive there and pick it up faster than they can deliver it.
AND, I already have more stuff in my cart ready to go, lol...just waiting to see what the next offer is.
Omg...i Might Be On To Something

Okay, I'm going to try another B-12 shot on Friday.
I just talked to the nurse and we'll try NOT putting a bandaid on it, lol. Then if that goes well (no insane itching), I'll go back one more time for them to teach me to do it myself.
