  1. GR..I like the sound of your stew. Do you actually put the sauerkraut in the stew, and if so how much? How long do you cook it for?
  2. Karen, I believe we are both correct as Sodium lauroyl lactylate is a type of salt formed from the fatty acid lauric acid, a white, powdery solid, lauric acid is found in high concentrations in coconut oil, laurel oil and the milk of cows and goats. And whilst you may be correct that traces may be negligible with SLL, or even minuscule, there is actually...
  3. MM, I have just looked on Amazon and read some of the reviews, looks like people like it... "At Last a grain free, gluten free, non-gmo granola! This Renola is so good I am addicted to it, and I am not kidding!" and so I will have to try it!
  4. I have just remembered "Emu oil" is good, its good for legs and arms, and some use it on their face too! Google it you might be surprised as it appears to have healing properties too.
  5. Hi Kereng, I am also looking for a good face cream and so I looked at the ingredients and it has "Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate" which is a derivative of milk, this would be fine for most people, but for some people with casein intolerance probably not. I Just thought I should mention that
  6. This post made me look at what I drink, There is only one choice in the supermarket and that is Schnitzer Brau, German, and it says its organic and Gluten Free, it tastes really good actually...this is what they say about it.. "Schnitzer Bräu's organic, gluten-free beer is made from millet malt and brewed in Offenburg in the Black Forest. Classically ...
  7. Hi, Perhaps on the invite you could keep it simple and put something like this... As some of you may be aware, I am Gluten intolerant, which requires me to avoid any food items which contains Gluten or Gluten related ingredients (beer) With this in mind, I would be very grateful if you are considering bringing anything to the party, to preferably only...
  8. I meant to say what I am having for dinner this evening...Okay its soup, but not normal soup! No, this is an extrodinary soup made by my Costa Rican friend, and quite honestly he could sell this soup if he so wished!! He likes to make it with meat on the bone, and uses wonderful vegeatables like Yucca, which melts in the mouth, chopped sweetcorn, and whatever...
  9. MM, actually it wasnt pickeled onions, it was red onions, I wrote it wrong! and yes they are delightfull thank you. I think I could do with another freezer though, now that I can see the limited space I have Anyway the stuff I get online from Amazon is things like Barella Pasta, which is very good, "Let's Do Organic Creamed Coconut, 7-Ounce Boxes...
  10. Wow good for you for being so organised! I recently realized my freezer was full of stuff that I couldn't eat anymore, like frozen pizza base, that kind of thing and I have either thrown it all out or given some foods away, and now I have started to fill my freezer up with some good stuff, so I guess that's me trying to be organised. Also I have ordered...
  11. I rarely eat out too, because where I live its far too risky I do wish sometimes that I had that option, but like yourself I just find it much safer to eat at home and then meet friends for drinks later. Also most people aren't really interested in other peoples diet restrictions, its a bit annoying for them sometimes, and so I would rather enjoy home made...
  12. Thanks a lot cycling lady!
  13. Hi, What I can tell you is that it takes some time to get to a place where you know for sure that you are gluten free, its tricky at first, we all make mistakes, but doing some research on what foods contain gluten would be helpful, as being more informed will help you both feel more relaxed. What I personally noticed was that once I had got into a fixed...
  14. I didn't go to the doctors, they would have charged me a fortune just for the consultation and I don't have medical insurance, but shes not sick at all, the test was for me really, peace of mind, that kind of thing. We just went into a professional Lab that does blood tests, but I think if he had explained to me I needed a bit more I would have paid,...
  15. Hi, although my daughter shows no sign of gluten intolerance I thought she should be tested just so we could rule it out, and so she had a blood test yesterday and now they are closed for the holidays, and so I wondered could someone be kind enough to explain the results. IMMUNOLOGIA RESULTADO UNIDADES ANALISIS Transglutaminasa...
  16. Hi, maybe putting it in cold water and then directly into a pan is the key! I will try that. Part of the fun of spaghetti is the long strands after all! Gracias.
  17. I pay almost $10 a bag, which is ridiculous really. I'm in Costa Rica where its tricky finding things.
  18. I was very shocked at how depressed I felt after being gluttoned accidentally, I could hardly believe it, as I have never suffered with depression like that before, it seemed to last a few days and then I felt better, although not entirely ...so yes I believe its actually one of the worst symptoms some people get if they have been been gluttoned..
  19. I use Bobs Mill but I am not too keen on it really, and its not cheap either, but its the only option I have, and so I have decided to order some flours online, and mix them up myself like BM.
  20. I'm having something that sounds really boring but its not! Rice with Avocado, home made pickled red onion, and a lovely slice of ham.. I just wanted something real quick as my daughter is out for a pizza this evening.
  21. Gosh you have a lot on your plate!..with regards to the hospital and food, I think I would ask a family member to bring in something just to be on the safe side, because what happens is that the longer you go without Gluten, the harder your body reacts to it when you have a slip up, you may well find they are well organised, but they might not be, and the...
  22. I think your wise to choose to continue on with your gluten-free diet, my blood test came back negative too, and then I just thought what the heck!! I knew I couldn't continue to eat anything with Gluten, and so I made the decision to continue with my gluten-free diet. I think its normal that you would want a firm diagnosis, I felt the same way, but really...
  23. Yes its very good! I had to order mine online and it was worth the wait. One thing I have noticed with gluten-free spaghetti is that when it is cooked you have to be careful adding the sauce into it as it can easily break up, which I am not too keen on.
  24. I always use extra virgin olive oil, sometimes Canola, and I have recently started cooking my tortillas in a teaspoon of coconut oil, and I must say it gives my tortillas an edge!
  25. Gosh! that sounds terrible, I do hope you figure out exactly what the problem is!
