  1. I hope my post didn't sound snippy, because that was not my intention, and it is not my intention here, but I just want to say that this is NOT about my OPINION, BUT THE FACT that Focus Night and Day contacts were approved by the FDA to be worn for 30 days and nights straight. The vast majority of people can and do wear those for that 30 days. You work...
  2. I don't want to sound like I don't believe you, or you are being silly, but like someone else mentioned, these things only have the power that you give them. What you focus on grows. If you 1) pray about it, 2) Increase your good Karma (like with the good works you said you already do), 3) Sage Smuge or other rituals 4) Try to go to the source (clearing the...
  3. I just noticed that the original post was deleted and replaced with a "-" mark (???) but you can see on Post #5 (my post) where I quoted mssillyackscrewed and she was asking about light sensitivity, not dry eyes, so I don't know what happened with the thread but it looks like it took a turn to dry eyes, now I understand why the last post I saw was talking...
  4. You quoted me when you replied to this, so I wasn't sure if you were directing your comment to me, but I don't have dry eyes, and from what I understand, Sjogren's is a drying-disease, right? Dry skin, dry eyes, etc? I am light sensitive, but after talking with my doctor, I found out that is is (more) common in people with light eyes, which I have. But...
  5. Who is "most people"? Because most of the people I know lost weight when they went gluten free because it was like going on atkins. They either didnt like or couldn't afford gluten free breads and pastas, so they just cut those foods out.
  6. That is so cool Michelle! I keep meaning to go but haven't made it there yet. I am so glad to hear that the closer location was easy to work with!
  7. I lost 8 pounds in the first 2 weeks of going gluten free. I think I was holding so much fluid from being so bloated that it just poured right off. When someone looks at pictures of me from 3 years ago they ask how much weight I have lost because it made a drastic difference in my face. I just looked swollen before.
  8. IV Benadryl is use to treat migraines in hospital settings. Migraines are not a histamine response, but a muscle spasm. The idea is that the Benadryl calms the patient and allows the muscle spasms to stop. I do not know if this is what happens in my gut when I take Benadryl after an accidental gluten-ing, but I know that it helps, and that is all that matters...
  9. While in CA last month I was glutened so badly at a restaurant in a fancy hotel that I thought I was going to have to go to the hospital. I asked the front dest if they had any benadryl and they practically threw it at me (perhaps trying to prevent a lawsuit). I usually keep a couple of 25 mg benadryls in my purse at all time. When I get glutened I take them...
  10. Thanks for all of your replies! I have had a chance to talk to her a little more, and she insists that she had follow up testing that showed she did not have Celiac Disease. BUT she now has a terrible ulcer, and she is on antibiotics for it. I asked her if it was H. pyliori, and she said they never confirmed it, but were putting her on the meds anyway. I...
  11. A new girl at work asked me why I ate my lunch without a bun, and I told her it was becuse of Celiac Disease. She said "Oh yeah, I know about that, I had that when I was little, but it went away...." and I just looked at her. She said that she was "some kind of miracle baby" and I asked if she had follow-up testing and she insisted that she did...but I think...
  12. There might be something else going on besides Celiac. Have you gone back to the doc about it? Had some tests done? When you DO eat, what are you eating? Just some things to think about...
  13. Really? Cool!
  14. I haven't had pizza in Dallas, but I have gone to some amazing steak houses. We went to Fogo de Chao, which was AMAZING. We also went to Bob's Chop and Steak house, and they were really great (working with me on gluten-free selections, but not a gluten-free menu). And we also went to Three Forks (III Forks) and it was another great meal. Hope that helps!
  15. I have also seen Deboles pasta at Walmart, along with some of their "regular" stuff with "gluten-free" on the label (like the Great Value brand pizza sauce). It is nice to see things moving along.
  16. Wow. Well welcome to the board. I would think that the test would still show some antibodies, since she wasn't totally gluten-free for a long period, but I don't know that for sure. My gut tells me that you should do what works though, and if gluten-free works, then that is what you do. If you have already done the blood tests (and don't want the endoscopy...
  17. I take GNC prenatals (and B12) and it says gluten-free right on the label.
  18. I cooked my turkey upside down....it was my first turkey, and I didnt know any better, but let me tell you, that was one moist turkey breast!
  19. There is a support/resource group for Boulder, called Boulder County Celiacs. Their website is www.BoulderCountyCeliacs.com Maybe they can help
  20. I have been taking chewable probiotics that I got at whole foods. I probably would just assume that they are doing *something* but doubt it in the back of my mind if not for the fact that I am having BM's more often and more solid now. Kinda interesting.

    ARCHIVED P F Changs

I had dinner at my local PF Changs tonight and it was great. I always get the changs spicey chicken with white rice, and the chocolate dome cake. I never have any problems there. I think it all comes down to the location and the staff. I am so sorry to hear you guys keep getting sick there! I love that place!!
  22. She actually said the the doctor told her today that he was PROUD of her for not gaining weight, because so many women gain so much weight that they go into gest. diabetis. So no, it doesn't sound like her doc is worried, can you believe that? She insists that her weightloss is due to her "not being hungry", but while we were on the phone she went through...
  23. I have celiac disease, and my paternal grandmother had it. My father has all of the symptoms, and says that he talked to his doctor about it, but he won't change his diet, because he "doesn't care". Now that attitude is rubbing off on my sister. She is 6 months pregnant, and has lost 17 pounds (not gained!). She won't get tested. She says that she doesn't...
  24. I use GNC, and do two at at time (because I usually forget them....) and put one on either side of my mouth, between my gum and cheek. I forget about them while doing house work or something
  25. That is so cool!!
