  1. I have pernicious anemia and use the sublingul B12 from GNC instead of the injections now. I used to bruise really bad from the injections. The sublingual tabs from GNC are really cheap, and are gluten free, soy free dairy free (and lots of other stuff that I don't worry about). Those might be a good option if you don't want to do the injections, or if you...
  2. Thanks for the email Holly. I just moved to Westminster and I was looking for a group arount here!
  3. I did the search bar and searched for "Mary Kay" and "TiffJake" and found the thread. This is the list, but please remember that I posted this over a year ago, so ask a current consultant to look it up online in the InTouch system. Wheat Amino Acids Functions: Amino Acids and Derivatives (Including Peptides) : Used to help maintain healthy skin. These...
  4. Alamaz, while I am not a fan of MK at ALL, I have noticed that people who want to sell you a DIFFERENT brand, will bash MK in a heart beat. YellowRose and Alamaz, I was diagnosed while in Director-In-Qualifications with Mary Kay. I was very dissapointed with their "Gluten Free" list (as you mentioned, that suggests avoiding Citric Acid). I did a lot of...
  5. Ditto on the Steak and Potato, that is always my "safe" meal out.
  6. There is a couple of sisters in Austin that started a business called McGoverns Organics. They do everything out of a "garage" attached to their house. It is an actual commercial kitchen now, but it looks like it was their garage before. You might want to contact them for advice. They are VERY helpful. They share recipes for their food with anyone who emails...
  7. Ditto the Pepto, and sometimes Benedryl. Water, lots of water. And sleep.
  8. Hey Buffetbride! I JUST moved to Westminster! Where is the Chilis? We went to the Outback on 120th the night before last and had a great meal (and a great server who "got it" like you mentioned). And we went to the PF Changs in the Flat Iron Shopping Center off of 36 last night, and another great experience. Nice to "meet" another Celiac in Westminster!!
  9. Thank you sooo much Michelle! We went to the PF Changs in the Flat Iron Crossings Shopping Center for dinner last night. And had Outback on 120th the night before. Hubby is getting tired of the same old places, so he will be very happy to see this list!!! Thanks again!!!
  10. I would appreciate any suggestions. Never been there before. Thanks guys!
  11. I keep finding places that are 77 plus per night, and I am looking for 300 per week (or something like that, flat rate per week). Anyone know of a "Value Plus" type of chain in that area?? Thanks guys!
  12. I am so excited for all of you! We are trying, and I hope to be posting good news soon! On a side note, my sister is pregnant. She is not diagnosed, but she has several Celiac symptoms. She wont get diagnosed b/c she thinks she "is not sick" so she isn't worried. I asked her to ask her doc about Celiac, being pregnant and all, and she said that he said...
  13. I went through their website, enterolab.com. It is not a blood test, it is a stool sample test (and cheek swab for the genetic test). My doctors office messed up the blood work too...so I understand that.
  14. I get the Vlasic Kosher Dill's. They are yummy, and as far as I can tell, gluten-free
  15. Not sure if they have one for kids, but all of the GNC stuff that I get is gluten-free and most is cf too.
  16. I second the Zicam, great stuff. And GNC has gluten-free/cf (and lots of other stuff-free) vit C chewables.
  17. What about wraps, with corn tortillas, maybe some turkey or ham, some lettuce and tomato and mustard, and a pickle spear on the side.....
  18. Hi Bella, just wanted to let you know that thread is nearly a year old, so you might not get a reply from that person..You might want to Private Message them, by clicking on their name (celiac3270) on the left, and scrolling down to "send message"
  19. I have to agree (not with the dork bit) that EnerG makes a GREAT cracker. I have tried Glutino and Dr Schar and didn't like those. I am really picky. I would rather go without than have one I don't like. I also didn't care for the nut thins, but thats just me....I wanted something to put peanut butter on, and the EnerG are my FAV!
  20. Are you staying at the Chicken Paradise? If so, enjoy!! I can recomend the Little Aussie Bakery. EVERYTHING there is gluten free!!!

    ARCHIVED Chuy's Tex-mex

I live very close to Austin and go there at least once a week. I LOVE Chuys! They are amazing!! Also, WildWood Art Cafe' has the most amazing gluten-free cake, "dingdongs", and other sweets! I can also recomend the Hula Hut, Maudies Tex Mex, North by Northwest, Whole Foods on Lamar (the cafe' area), Amy's Icecream........There are several great places, you...
  22. Oops, sorry, I didn't see how young your little ones were! Perhaps gluten-free cereal, like Perky-o's, for finger food snacks....
  23. As far as snack options go, I really like EnerG crackers (taste like a saltine! Really!) with peanut butter. And I get the small, individual sized packages of peanuts (Planters, I get them from Sams). Or apple slices with peanut butter, or celery! Grapes, strawberries, hm...I know their are gluten-free/cf cookies out there, one is Nana's No Gluten Chocolate...
  24. I eat at Outback at least once a week. I got sick a couple of times in the beginning (MY LOCAL Outback had not done gluten-free before, so it was a learning experience for us both) but smooth sailing now, almost 2 years later
  25. Agreed! Sorry I am late to post, but I have passed out from gluten. About a month after going gluten-free I said "forget it!" and ate a bowl of pasta at olive garden and passed out at the mall about 30 minutes later. My intestines had shut down. Doc said I was not used to the gluten and my body just freaked out. I hope they are able to give you some answers...
