  1. I know that in the Pharmacy world there is a bit of a controversy about iron. It is very easy to overdose on Iron, especially for children who might get into the pill cabinet and eat the vitamins. Many multi's don't have iron because in the US we eat enough meat to cover our Iron needs, and putting it in vitamins is dangerous for house holds with kids who...
  2. Guess I could have posted this earlier, sorry! 3. I tried a challenge. Made it three days. Was rolling on the floor in the bathroom in pain. Won't go back for anything now! You can't make me!
  4. I am currently doing the same thing! I am taking GNC's Prenatal's. They are gluten-free and the levels look like the general amount suggested for Prenatals (which are different amounts than suggested for regular multi's, just so you know). But A LOT of this stuff depends on the person and the doctor. Some docs recomend a particular vitamin, and some women...
  5. I LOVE that verse and really needed it today! Thanks so much for sharing that !!!!!!
  6. Oh! Didn't see that questions! Sorry! Things are ok. I tried a gluten challenge, and made it three days, before the migranes and night terrors got the best of me (of course there was "D" but that isn't as threatening as it used to be). But 2 days back into gluten-free and the migranes are gone and I am sleeping better. I talk to my hubby daily, and that...
  7. If you have already had the biopsy, then I say "go for it!". I haven't had the biopsy (because an Lame Advertisement test told me to avoid gluten LONG before I knew what Celiac was and so I had already been gluten-free at that point) and when I try to eat gluten again I am too sick to handle it, so I quit after a few days. I wish I would have known to wait...
  8. I have been working on a friends house all day, so I missed the good news, but I am also VERY glad that you found a good doc that listened to you and understood you! That is awesome! So, you still need that boat? I have been paying extra attention to the news, and it sounds like the flood waters are going down?!?!
  9. I get the exact same things and have never been sick from it. I think it depends on the Wendy's. Someone on here said that their friend worked there and they would throw a burger patty in that they had messed up (putting ketchup on it when it was ordered w/o ketchup). And I have checked at "my" wendy's, and I check others when I am traveling, and the...
  10. If I had your address, I would send you one of those paper boats made from news paper! But I don't, and since it is the thought that counts, I am sharing my thought with you! Here is a paper-boat-thought! <_{*_> Ok, tried to get a sail looking thing....don't know if it worked!
  11. Yeah, and I made "rice krispy treats" with them, and mailed them to my hubby in Iraq, and he loved them! (He is not gluten-free, but he is the "gold standard" for my cooking.)
  12. This is just my opinion, but I would ask for a second opinion, and fast. If it is staph, then it is a BIG deal, and being confused about your cream is not good. I would go to a derm if I were you. And quickly. Take what info you have and get a second opinion. Thats just me. (I double checked the med, and it is used for bacteria, and staph is a bacteria...
  13. Anyone else feel paranoid, have nightmares or night terrors when glutened? I was trying to do a three-day-challenge to show the doc and get positive blood work (but I have already asked about that and I don't know if the blood work will even show my HARD work!) but all of the crappy symptoms are back, including nightmares, waking dreams, and waking up feeling...
  14. I love this thread! -No more migranes -No more cystic acne -No more birth control for periods (I never had one before the pill, was on the pill for 7years, and now gluten-free, have almost a 28 day cycle!!!) -No more body odor (used to sweat and stink an odd stink) -No more bloated feeling after eating, swollen hands, and face -No more running to...
  15. I totally agree (about kinda laughing at people now) because I feel like I am "in the know" and they just don't get it. I have seen how food changes me (in MANY ways) and they don't. I have gotten weirdness from all kinds of family and friends. Even the person that I consider my BEST girlfriend gets a little weird sometimes. She is a nurse, and is all about...
  16. Well, on an off note (but sticking to the subject) and getting gross for a second, I switched from Sweet N' Low to Spenda for a little while and noticed that my bathroom trips smelled like the pool. I was a life guard for years, so I recognize the "pool" smell, and HATE it! I didn't put the two together until I read about Splenda using Chlorine in the process...
  17. Double Ditto..... And I have had these experiences here too. I had a "good friend" that I don't think was so good now.....she had such a hard time that she was either 100% supportive (calling pizza places to see if they had a gluten-free crust) or 100% against me (refused to go out to eat, or eat at my house, because it was a pain in the @$$ for her...
  18. You know, I hadn't thought about it, because they said "A note from your Doctor" and I don't consider him my doctor. But if I don't get one on thursday, then I will ask email him about it. It is such a pain because I feel like I need to prove this to people! I know that I get sick. The people who spend the night with me or go home with me after eating...
  19. When I called Six Flags (meant six flags, not sea world, sorry!) they said I could bring my own salad dressing or bread if I had a doctors note.....and I am going to a 4 day Seminar in Dallas, and they are "perfectly willing to accomidate me" if I have a doctors note! (NOT trying to argue with you....just wanted to ask that if this were the case...
  20. Well screw this! I have been sick all day and I am not going to do it anymore! Ug! No note for me I guess! Because I am not going to spend another hour in the bathroom! I am ONE DAY into my mini-challenge and I am tired of looking at the bathroom wall! I have spent three hours in the bathroom today!!!!! Not to mention the nausea, bloating (I have gained ...
  21. So why were the levels lower after only a month gluten-free? I thought the blood would be faster-acting since my levels went down between the EnteroLab and the doctors-botched-blood test 4 weeks later......
  22. I want to ditto this! I am also a consultant, and currently, the only products with any kind of wheat or oat ingredient listed are 1) Nail Polish 2) Advanced Moisture Renewal Cream 3) Concealer 4) Eye Primer. (I poured through my ingredient book!) So the Concealer is a bummer, but I don't need it when I use their foundation, it is pretty covering.....but...
  23. I have a Dr.'s appt on Thursday, and it just occured to me that if I want my panel to be positive, then I need to be eating gluten! Hello! Duh! So will eating gluteny food between now and then be enough for a positive panel? I think so, but I am getting conflicting reports from others, please advise!!! (Doing the mini-gluten-challenge for things like work...
