  1. Any clue what could be used instead of egg without using Ener-G egg sub? She hasn't had eggs yet. Is baking soda something she could react to or is that relatively hypoallergenic?
  2. Oh my goodness, Patti, yes yes YES!!! I really need a travel snack and I imagine I could just reduce the sugar and choco chips. Also, it would be nice for her to have a treat on Christmas. She never gets anything special other than choco chips.
  3. I started putting 1/2 tsp canola in her quinoa this morning (also added some extra choco chips for good measure since she gets no other treats really. I will also start frying her chicken on occasion. She looks healthy, just small. She has a small amount of fat on her belly and a nice round bottom. LOL She looks great, just really tiny all around. ...
  4. She gets no candy other than the occasional Enjoy Life choco chips. With corn being out, that rules out most candies. I'd prefer to add calories with natural fats, etc anyway. She tends to refuse healthy foods if she's had a treat recently. Question... When you guys are saying to add more fat, is that in addition to the soy milk or a suggestion for...
  5. She's not growing length-wise either. She has good color though and is a VERY happy little girl. She doesn't seem unhealthy to me, just tiny. I know that dropping on the charts like that isn't healthy, but physically she doesn't appear ill. Would coconut milk be a good milk sub? I was thinking of trying that mixed with vance's maybe. Because of the delayed...
  6. Patti, we haven't tried Vance's. I'll talk to my pediatrician about it, but I'm pretty sure she'll veto it since it's fat free. Any ideas how to add fat to it? Would adding that to her diet be a problem since she already devours an entire sweet potato pretty much every day?
  7. I asked the doc today about fish and nuts and she told me to hold off on them until we have her weight problem stabilized or at least diagnosed. She said that she didn't want to throw anything new in just two weeks before her gi appt. I could probably add some canola oil somewhere if it looks like she's not getting enough fat... I'm going to keep a food journal...
  8. Yes, she's 100% gluten free and dairy free. Our house is completely gluten free and we are VERY careful about dairy because she gets hives with any contact. What alternatives are there to soy milk? She's intolerant to rice and dairy and we aren't supposed to give her nuts because of all her other food issues. Is there anything else available? We too feel...
  9. She has a very limited diet. To be quite honest I don't know what the fat/protein/carb ratio should be... Here's an example of a normal day for her. Keep in mind she's intolerant to every grain we've tried thus far... Breakfast: 1 whole banana and 1/4 cup quinoa with df/sf choco chips Snack: 1/4 diced fruit or veggie Lunch: 2 uncured low sodium beef...
  10. Ok guys, I need some ideas... My daughter is 15 months old now. She seemingly has many food allergies (rash and/or hives with trigger foods). The really scary thing is her weight though. She weighs 19 lbs and has pretty much since she turned a year old. She has now fallen into the 3% range and isn't gaining. Her ped is starting to get really worried and we...
  11. Josef's makes a graham cracker that might work. They're small, so you'd probably have to ice 4 together for one wall, but it would probably work. Or perhaps a small village of tiny houses instead? Might be easier. LOL Sounds like fun...
  12. I just wanted to let you guys know that the Jaks Pacific gluten free cupcake maker and mixes are on sale right now at (Company Name Removed - They Spammed This Forum and are Banned)!!!
  13. Is it just the Triple Blonde that's gluten free? Is it actually gluten free? Has anyone ever seen it in stores? I'd love to try a new gluten free beer.
  14. I once left a playground and made my best friend stay and tell the woman who was letting her 2 year old daughter eat chicken nuggets while playing on the equipment (yeah, how safe is that) that my daughter had an anaphylactic allergy to wheat and she could die if she touched anything her daughter touched. Totally untrue, but I didn't know what else to say...
  15. I just wanted to share with all of you our experience trick-or-treating this year! We only went for about an hour, maybe 25 houses or so, 30 at the most... Out of those, THREE had family members in the house that were gluten free!!! Several others had relatives or friends who were gluten free. Most of the stories we heard had to do with autistic spectrum...
  16. Could you please list the books and coloring books for a 3-4 year old? I've never seen such a thing. Thanks! Sorry I don't have any answers for you.
  17. I'm still watching... Cloris HAS to go!!!
  18. Welcome! I'm in Lancaster County.
  19. I had to read this twice before I caught that it said ONREY instead of other things.... lol
  20. I use Kinnikinnick brand flours with the following mix: 3 parts white rice flour 2 parts potato starch 1 part tapioca starch Add one teaspoon of xantham gum per cup of flour. I've found this to be the closest to "regular" flour. I've had NONE of my old recipes fail when using this mix. I have, however, had recipes fail with other brands of flour...
  21. I am one of the lucky ones in that my pain is relatively short lived and the symptoms only last a few days after being glutened. There are many though that suffer for weeks after a glutening. You've gotten some great advice so far. The only thing I would add is that perhaps he should refrain from eating dairy as well. The lactose receptors are one of the...
  22. Ian's makes a pizza kit. It comes in a canister and includes everything you need except for cheese. It is truly delicious and fun to make with kiddos since everything comes pre-measured.
  23. Hey moms, dads, etc... I just wanted to post that I found this on the Wikki Stix site: I haven't used them yet, but I bought them as party favors for an art themed birthday party. They look like fun! Kind of like pipe cleaners without the sharp ends.
  24. What area of Lancaster County are you looking to stay in? There are a few bed and breakfasts that will do gluten free breakfasts for you. Also, I've heard that Willow Valley is extremely accomodating. It really depends on what area you're interested in. There are a few other people on here that live in Lancaster County that may be able to help you as well...
  25. Deb, thank you for your ingredient list. I read the ingredients to Baby magic's lotion a LONG time ago when Annika first developed her rash, long before we knew what she was allergic to. For some reason I never re-read it as we figured out her many allergies. CORN!!! No wonder she screams when we put it on her!!! Thank you for that lightbulb moment.
