  1. Yes, this is Annika's first trip. Well, unless you want to count travelling to Florida in utero. lol Thanks for the link Momma Goose. I'm really hoping that they can be accomodating. I haven' eaten out in months. I would hate to have to cook every single meal while on vacation. It would be nice to have a decent meal out.
  2. I'm looking for gluten free restaurants or places to do my grocery shopping in or around Chincoteague Island, VA. We're leaving tomorrow (Sunday), but I will have the internet for the whole trip hopefully. Any info would be appreciated. I'm insanely nervous. This is the first time I've traveled anywhere outside of Disney since being diagnosed 4 years ago...
  3. Happy birthday, Amanda! I had forgotten that our birthdays were so close together!
  4. It is a new style. I'll have to call to check it out I guess. I'm feeling much better now, but MAN was I sick. lol. So glad my glutenings don't last very long.
  5. Does anyone know if Seltzer's slim slices are gluten free? I got glutened badly on Saturday and that's the only thing I can think of that may have caused it. I know their sweet balogna is gluten free, but I must've grabbed the wrong thing and it tasted the same. I didn't notice I had the wrong package until after I ate a slice.
  6. Disney World in Orlando FL is the only place that we vacation anymore. I have NEVER been glutened there, eating out daily while there (I am relatively sensitive), and we try to get there once a year. If you stay at a Disney resort there will be gluten free food on site. Call ahead of time to make reservations and they'll be able to guide you as to where to...
  7. I know you said you're not doing Disney BUT if you want a fabulous first-class meal go to Downtown Disney (free admission, free parking) and go to the Portabello Yacht Club. They have excellent food AND they carry gluten free pasta. It's very easy to get to. I would recommend getting reservations though. Downtown Disney isn't actually very Disney at all and...
  8. Keep in mind that with the Thermos stuff you get what you pay for. I bought a $25 food jar and then I bought a $35 food jar and the more expensive one works SO MUCH better. I never even use the cheaper one anymore. I know it seems like a big investment for a little jar, but its well worth it to spend the extra money and get the top of the line model.
  9. I just wanted to let everyone know that I e-mailed Baby Blanket and they confirmed that their sunscreens are all gluten free. I love their towelettes for my two kids (and myself lol). Also, they got back to me within two hours of my e-mail!
  10. I think I enjoyed it every bit as much as Tori did. It was totally awesome! I hadn't been to the circus (except for the cirque de soleil) since i was little so I had no clue what happened there. It was great. She even got called up to jumprope with the clowns in their preshow. She did have a hard time sitting still that long. Luckily the seats folded up so...
  11. I didn't even watch the finale... I was taking Tori to the circus. Was it good or was it another gay boxing themed show?
  12. Janet, I'm with you on that one! *licks lips* He gets really annoying if you (*licks lips*) actually watch his performances. Mmmmmm.... Gosh... Mmmmmm.... I do have to admit uh gosh though that if you don't listen to his interviews (*licks lips*) and don't watch him mmmmm gosh on stage gosh he's not half (*licks lips*) bad.
  13. Ok, so I am TOTALLY addicted to the reality dating shows like A Shot at Love, I love New York, Rock of Love, That's Amore, etc... Any other fans out there?
  14. This is HANDS DOWN the best gluten free cake I've ever had. I make it as cupcakes and they turn out beautifully. I've never actually tried baking it as a cake, though I'm sure it would work. I love, love, love this recipe! Open Original Shared Link
  15. I think you're right. I definitely think Jason is in trouble after last night (though I have to admit I loved his second song minus the pitchiness in a few spots). Cook BROUGHT IT! Anyone know what the AC on his guitar and jacket stood for? I'm getting more and more annoyed by Archuleta and I'm not sure why. He just irks me now. Maybe its hormonal. lol. Talk...
  16. They are located in Bellefonte, PA. $50 for a dozen brownies???
  17. I live about 20 minutes outside of Lancaster city. I don't belong to a support group, mostly because I'm very awkward around people. I get anxious in new settings also, so I haven't joined one. (can you say asperger's? lol) What is Naomi's site??? I SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO miss Auntie Anne's pretzels! I would do almost anything to have an exact replica. Any chance...
  18. I would have to say I agree whole heartedly with RiceGuy. I would be terrified to even try the stuff. I may be in the minority, but I'm perfectly happy with my gluten free replacement products. They may be pricey, but they taste better to me and my family than the gluteny version did.
  19. Yeah, I just made a big old dough ball, about the size of a thin hamburger roll and flattened it. It didn't rise a whole lot, but enough to cut in half. They were amazing! Very filling though, probably due to the cottage cheese and all that butter in the rolls. I really have no idea how long I baked them for. I just kept checking on them every few minutes...
  20. I just wanted to add that this recipe makes THE BEST hamburger rolls that I've had since going gluten free. They were super easy to make also. I made three hamburger rolls and two personal sized pizzas out of a double batch (could have made 4 rolls and no pizzas). They are reminiscent of a kaiser roll (kind of). Very tasty! They don't quite seem done in the...
  21. I haven't tried freezing, but I can tell you that I bake them first without toppings until lightly browned, then put toppings and sauce on to finish. I imagine you could freeze it after the first bake.
  22. Mamaw, I just wanted to say that this is possibly my favorite recipe! It is SOOOOOO versatile. Its also really easy to double and triple. Out of one tripled batch I can make pizza crusts (delicious and tastes very similar to Pizza Hut's pan pizza without all the grease), crescent rolls, turnovers, and still have enough left to make a cinnamon bun. I LOVE...
  23. LOL!!! Comb over... LOL!!! No, Blake didn't win last year, Jordin Sparks did. (Poor Jordin). I was a BIG Blake Lewis fan and I was very glad he didn't win after they unveiled the songwriter's song. It was cheesy and weird.
  24. Really I'm just glad David Cook and Jason are still there. After Daughtry got the boot last year, I'm nervous. Though, I have to admit, Cook probably wouldn't sound great singing whatever their songwriter's song will be this year just as Blake didn't last year. I think that for Cook's career it would probably be best to NOT win. Who do you guys think...
  25. :) :) :) :) :) :) :) Can you see me beaming from ear to ear?!?!?!
