  1. Thanks for your post Burdee. It's really helpful to hear about your experiences, especially on the interpretation of results. I tested with York- I live in the UK and its the biggest lab here as far as I'm aware. I ended up being 'intolerant' to almost everything on the 113 panel, including a couple of foods I never at. However, having read what Burdee...
  2. I could do with looking into the alternative therapies but don't have the
  3. Thanks for your help Donna (: Your signature mentions all your food intolerances. Have you cut out all the problem foods? My ELISA, test had me intolerant to pretty much everything inies except including all veggies except mushrooms Just wondering what you've done to deal with intolerances. Susie x
  4. Donna - that's amazing about your flat and the candida Would steam cleaning be hot enough to kill it? Should have added another question to my post above - is being sensitive to mold indicative of candida overgrowth? I ate some nuts a few days ago and one tasted moldy. My stomach griped up almost immediately and is still struggling to feel right....
  5. Just been catching up on the last few pages having not been here in a few days. Smiling over the chocolate debate My DH hides choclate bars around the house when he buys them so that i can't eat them all at once However, I have now bit the bullet and am no longer in denial about being a moldie, so its no more choclate here either... So, a question...
  6. Hi everyone! Our computer died a couple of weeks ago, which is why I haven't been around. We've now got DH's laptop online so I can post again might take a while to catch up on things first tho! BTW I bought a rebounder. It's great. DS has a small trampoline as well, so we bounce together to music. It makes me realise how unfit I am tho! Susie...
  7. Hi all Jin - it's great to hear that new dad's new job is going so much better. I've got a couple of questions for those who are better with the scientificness than me I'm starting to take vitamins (making sure they're free of everything except the vitamin lol) and so I had a multi-B tab with my lunch. Within 3/4 hour I went for a pee and...
  8. Been thinking of you Jan - how's your son? Since my original reply, I remembered also that you can use taking your pulse as an indication of whether you are allergic/ intolerant to something. I hope the EKG went OK. Susie x
  9. Polenta is good as well. Patti - we don't have potato buds in the UK. Is that just instant potato?
  10. Rice milk is also a good substitute if you can tolerate it, just make sure to get a brand that's gluten-free and everything else free.
  11. Kat - I should have added - about 50 years ago, my granddad was told that if he didn't give up smoking, he wouldn't last much longer. Yesterday he was 100 and he's off on a cruise today with my aunt and uncle to celebrate
  12. Thanks very much for that. I will have to save my pennies up...I think I might break DS's mini trampoline if I try bouncing on that Thinking of you Rachel - great scientifness about the Vit C and Mag. I was thinking the other day that I have a problem with histamine. I need to get to the shops today and get some Vit C I can actually...
  13. Glad you're having it investigated, but yes, I have those exact symptoms, and it's always when I've eaten something I have problems with - not necessarily gluten, as I have other food allergies that cause them, but before I went gluten free, it was happening a lot more. It will probably take a few months to see the full benefits of the diet and it seems to...
  14. Hormones do funny things to the tummy! When I was pregnant, my whole digestive system was a wreck (not just sickness, but increased IBS type symptoms etc). Don't know what to suggest really, but you have my sympathy Susie x
  15. I agreee with carla re the pull ups at school but, please be aware that poos on the toilet are difficult for olts of kids, not just coeliacs. We had big problems with our DS getting him to poo on the toilet, but it eventually just clicked. When seeking help with it, we discovered that loads of kids struggle with poo related fears. One day they just get it...
  16. I wasn't around when rebounders were first discussed on this thread. Please could someone tell me very briefly why they are so good for the health? Thanks Susie x
  17. Rachel, I seem to remember reading that once you're taking the amount of vit c your body needs, that's when you'll start getting the loose bms, so maybe it does indicate that you need the vit c a lot. Also, do try and drink a lot of water (2 litres at least). Can you tolerate anythign like figs or sharon fruit, coz they'd help How much is in each of the...
  18. Raven that's so sad. My prayers are with you and the families of Elvin and his friend. That poor guy to have held his dying friend and be arrested for it...it's unbelievable. as Belinda says, you do an amazing job, keep up the good work. susie x
  19. Just noticed this thread! I live in Coventry and used to live in B'ham (pre-coeliac days). Have you managed to find gluten free beer in the supermarkets yet? I've bought some from Tesco. Never had any in a bar. Have you been to le Petit Blanc in B'ham? They have a gluten free menu and it's delicious. Not cheap though - although much cheaper at lunchtimes...
  20. Hi Jin Forgive me, I'm very new to all this talk of toxicity, but what is 'the other test'? Unfortunately, the health system is very different here in the UK, so although we get 'free' healthcare on the NHS, that doesn't include anything that's even vaguely alternative, so I would have to pay for any tests or treatments that have been discussed on this thread...
  21. Wow!! I truly hope Tim stays well. Susie x
  22. Mia - sorry to hear about your reaction. Be gentle to yourself (((hugs))) Thanks all for the info re hair analysis. I have to confess that I first thought of getting it done to assess my vitamin and mineral levels. I hadn't heard about the toxicity issues. I do have 2 mercury amalgams, so maybe that is an issue. We'll have to see. One things for sure...
  23. Hi! From when I did the anti-candida diet before, I found wholeapproach.com very helpful. As far as recipes are concerned, Erica White's Beat Candida Cookbook is brilliant. It is a UK book, I bought it from Amazon UK, so hopefully you would find it on amazon .com. I will have to leave others to answer about the testing thing - as far as I'm aware, there's...
  24. Welcome to the board! You will get there, but it is tough at first. Stick around here and ask lots of questions if you're unsure about any foods etc and as the others have said, make sure you take snacks with you. Susie x
