ARCHIVED Oxalates And Nightshades
bluejeangirl replied to jerseyangel's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I'm learning so much about myself in this thread, its just amazing. I still have so much to learn and will do that this week, kinda hard on weekends. I can tell just three days on the diet I feel so much better. No dumping yet so I must be in sort of a grace period before stuff starts to happen. I sleep better, my head is clearer and I don't get the... -
ARCHIVED Oxalates And Nightshades
bluejeangirl replied to jerseyangel's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
. I'm very interested in trying this diet. The more I'm reading about and all your posts makes me believe this could help me. Like many of you going gluten free helped but I know there's along road ahead to get to where I feel good. To summarize my problems I could say it started with candida yeast shortly after the birth of my second son in 84. ... -
ARCHIVED Bloated/dizzy Spells
bluejeangirl replied to holdthegluten's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Sounds like your blood pressure might be low. I've had this many of times. I also have a theory on the dizziness. If there is alot of gas in our stomachs and intestines it must somehow get absorbed in our bloodstream. That has got to be why we feel so spacey and lightheaded. I guess the question would be what is this gas made up of? and can there be... -
ARCHIVED Who Had Constipation, Not Diarrhea?
bluejeangirl replied to a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I would eat enough fiber and ate whole grains for years and could never figure out why I was constipated. It got to the point where there was little movement and my appetite would go away. I knew it was bad to have my gut full and sitting that way for days. I was nauseated, head felt stuffed with cotton, sinues full, joints hurt. Then at night I would... -

ARCHIVED Does Anyone Here Take Omega 3 Fish Oil Caps
bluejeangirl replied to bluejeangirl's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I'm guessing it's either an issue with my gall bladder or maybe just this brand. Last night we went out to eat and I ordered the grilled salmon. I can eat about 5 oz. of salmon, vinagrette on my salad and butter on my potato and not feel sick like I did with one capsule of the salmon oil. I'm pretty sure 1,000 mg, is like 4 oz of salmon. So I guess my... -
ARCHIVED Does Anyone Here Take Omega 3 Fish Oil Caps
bluejeangirl posted a topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I just starting taking EPA/DHA essentials from pure encapsulations. It has 1000 mg of fish oil concentrate. However, I'm feeling naucous. Its a medium level, all day feeling much like motion sickness if you ever had that. I don't like it and its has to be from this fish oil. I guess I've been eating healthy for quite a few years now so I don't have fried... -
ARCHIVED My Doctor's Visits Here In Germany
bluejeangirl replied to Ursa Major's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Ursla, How wonderful ! I really believe there's alot of us (me included) that don't get the attention we need when it comes to our adrenals. I find it so frustrating that I can't do as much as I want because I'm so wiped out, especially to plan to do activities two days in a row. I have to rest in between. I think its just great you found this doctor... -
I cannot digest beans eigher. Bob's redmill has a bread mix ( I think it was called hearty or whole grain) that I made the otherday. I was excited that it seemed healthier then eating white rice flour. I had to throw it all out because it not only caused gas but it was painful gas. It hurted all the while it took its time to travel through the colon. ...

ARCHIVED Msg Allergy -- Will It Go Away?
bluejeangirl replied to Maureen73's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Its only gotten worse for me. I used to be able to eat a small amt. but now after having it for over 30 years I'm as sensitive as ever. I hardly ever eat packaged foods anymore. I make everything myself, as far as soups and gravies, pizzas, sauces but alot of celiacs do that anyway so it wasn't a big transition for me when I found out about the gluten... -
ARCHIVED My Beer Test
bluejeangirl replied to Mountaineer Josh's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I remember always getting sick on the dark beers. Not so much on bud lite or other lites. With the dark beers I wonder if for me it was the yeasts. I know they seemed to be sweeter. But the yeast would of been a problem for me to because of candida and leaky gut issues. Gail -
ARCHIVED Question About Vaccinations
bluejeangirl replied to gfgypsyqueen's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Lolabell, I'm so sorry what happened. Its so sad, and this really sickens me. My hope for you is that you get lots of support and hopefully some day they'll get to the bottom of this. Its my belief they have but the politics of food and medicine are shaped by the heavy hand of propaganda in television and media. T.V.news accept large contributions from... -
I want to make a bread from a recipe posted here using teff flour. So I looked up to see what teff is and it is very high in iron. I think bob's red mill has it in a flour. I'm hoping anyway I checked in three stores so far and haven't found it but the store I think I'll find it in will probably have it. I'll know tonight. Every little bit helps so maybe...

There are times I walk in the door hungry and tired and for those times I have one of Amy's frozen meals that are gluten free. I won't eat the pizza though because it doesn't sit right with me. I just bought the Ian's chicken nuggets but I haven't tried them yet. This will happen about 2 times a month where I used to go to fast food places but I don't... -

ARCHIVED Word Must Be Getting Out
bluejeangirl replied to par18's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I've been in the gluten free aisle in the store and I'm always amazed how friendly people are who are looking at the same time. I've been asked several times if I'm gluten free and how long etc., etc. People are so willing to share tips and I've been invited to come to meetings. The other day I was in Barnes and Noble looking at G.F. cook books and another... -

ARCHIVED Old-timers Help! Reacting Again!
bluejeangirl replied to oceangirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Lisa, I would do two things first find a cereal you like that is made gluten free and without c.c. (in dedicated lines.) But I would also take out all the nuts for awhile, maybe 2 weeks. Then reintroduce them eating enough to make sure this also didn't contribute to your troubles. I seem to tolerate a few nuts maybe on a salad but if I eat them as a snack...
