ARCHIVED Anyone Reading Eckhart Tolle's A New Earth?
bluejeangirl replied to Green12's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
What is this book about. Is it a New Age, higher power, look within type of book? Cuz I don't need one of those. Gail -
Lisa I agree with Moldlady about vegetarian sources of protein. I don't have any expirence on being a vegetarian and anti candida diet so I'm not much help. Maybe you can ask the board with a separate post. Gail

Lisa I do think it can be related to candida. In the book I'm reading Power To Heal by Bruce Semon he writes, "The yeast makes toxic chemicals. These yeast chemicals can circulate in the body. Such cheicals are similar in structure to industrial solvents. Yeast makes acetol, acetoin, 2-methyle-2-pentenal, putrescine and spermine. These chemicals are...

Happy Birthday Patti, have a fun evening. My hubby's birthday is tomorrow and will be the same age! I already made the vanilla gluten free cake. Gail -
Susie What I usually do for snacks is have those blue diamond nut-thins and then have eigher tuna or salmon salad, you can make it with olive oil and lemon juice. I also tolerate cashew butter well. I don't believe it has the mold like peanut butter has. Another option if you can tolorate alittle dairy is those little wedges of laughing cow low...

Hi Susie.......I also have the problem of trying to keep weight on while being on a candida control diet. The only diet, for me at least, is to go low carb. which starves yeast. I think going Paleo is the best because it makes it so easy to not have to consider what grains to eat or how to make bread without yeast etc. The only problems is this is usually...

Thanks UCDsurvivor for posting. I've never heard of this and will diffenetly look into it. Just wondering however is it best for you to go plant based proteins or how do you get the protein you need to eat to survive. After I read about this I'll be considering a trial period of low protein to see if I feel better. I might be eating the wrong things...

ARCHIVED Gas Pains? What Could It Be
bluejeangirl replied to misdiagnosed6yrs's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Make sure its not ovarian cancer. I'm trying to think of the symptoms ... I know it includes bloating, becoming full when eating and difficulty eating, pain in pelvis area? not sure if its just pelvis or not. Frequent urination. I know I just read them not long ago but my memory is gone. Anyway I thought I'd mention this because early detection is key... -
ARCHIVED Possible Symptoms Of Gluten
bluejeangirl replied to little d's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Whenever I'm under any kind of stress my neck hurts. I know I injured it along time ago but I also suspect its from having alot of old fillings that should be replaced. Dietary stress from gluten is hard on your body. I'll toss and turn and not sleep well and my muscles get tense. Then the neck starts hurting. Other dietary stresses (for me) cause... -
ARCHIVED Hunger Pains
bluejeangirl replied to holdthegluten's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
That is true...I forgot about those feelings. Much worse then feeling like I do now. I don't hardly eat any grains now. I don't have carrots or potatoes or legumes for that matter. Its no wonder I'm never hungry. I do get cravings though. Like warm choclate chip cookies out of the oven. If I do make them I'll eat so many I usually can't eat supper.... -
ARCHIVED Gastroparesis, Anything That Might Help?
bluejeangirl replied to ravenwoodglass's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
It's just my opinion but I think giving alittle child prevacid and antibiotics is just setting her up for worse problems ahead. But I really don't know why she gets worse when you take her off them. Other than maybe its the rebound effect that happens after you stop taking the meds. Does she have asthma? Or destruction to her vocal chords? That would... -
ARCHIVED Hunger Pains
bluejeangirl replied to holdthegluten's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I miss the feeling of being so hungry you could eat a horse. I don't know if I'll ever get that back but I'm working on it. I know I have to heal my stomach, well the lining and going down through the intestines. I've just started taking some enzymes (Zypan by Standard Process) and buffered ascorbic acid. The directions say to take 2 but I'm starting... -

ARCHIVED Constipation And Rice Products
bluejeangirl replied to a topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I don't think your giving him foods that are constipating. Unless he's having candida problems then fruits would be a problem. Candida thrive on sugars and fruits are naturally high in sugar. Its not unusual for autistic children to have issues with candida. You might want to look into it further. I good book to read, An Extraordinary Power to Heal by... -

ARCHIVED Gastroparesis, Anything That Might Help?
bluejeangirl replied to ravenwoodglass's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I get this problem also and I hate it. What's funny is I'll wake up around 4 o'clock in the morning and I'll feel hunger and wish that I felt that during the day. I'll go back to sleep hoping that I'll feel that way when I wake up. I never do it it drives me mad. In addition to wheat I avoid foods high in acids because these foods irritate the lining... -
ARCHIVED I Just Want Them To Stop
bluejeangirl replied to VioletBlue's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I didn't get gluten dreams but when I quit drinking I would have them with alcohol. I would wake up thinking I blew it and had a drink and feel guilty until I realized it was a dream. I think it was alot harder for me to give up beer and wine then eating gluten. And that fear gets played out in our dreams. You might also have them whenever your doing... -
She was on Martha Steward not to long ago giving her brownie recipe. It was very intertaining and wish I could of taped it. Even Martha loved them and couldn't believe the flavor they had. So you can make them and not wait 2 hrs in traffic. The recipe is somewhere on the cooking thread. I believed she gave a cupcake recipe too. Gail
-
I'm going to be doing it. I know in the oxalate thread it gets mentioned alot. We can post our progress on there if there isn't alot of interest on its own. I do think though that many people would benefit from this diet. There would be alot to discuss since there are so many opinions on what diet to follow. So anyone else? Gail

ARCHIVED Need To Feed 11 Gluten Eaters I Don't Know Very Well
bluejeangirl replied to cruelshoes's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I've never noticed a root beer flavor or anything just that it helps to tenderize the meat. Remember the experiment if you put a nail in a glass of coke it will dissolve over time? So what ever is in soda ....Phosphates? You throw the liquid out of course when its done. I like sweet baby ray's also. Gail -
ARCHIVED Frequent Nausea For 4 Months Now....

ARCHIVED Need To Feed 11 Gluten Eaters I Don't Know Very Well
bluejeangirl replied to cruelshoes's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Did you ever make pulled pork? I usually make this if its a make ahead meal. If you put the pork roast in the crock pot add rootbeer to cover and it helps to tenderize it even more. Once its done and make sure its tender enough because you just pull it or shred it up and add your favorite BBQ sauce. I like Saz. You have to use alot because it'll taste... -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free Pantry Pie Crust Question
bluejeangirl replied to JustCan's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I think its too much fat so I also add gluten free oats that have been made into flour with a food processor. It also gives the crust a nice color and better texture. Also roll out the crust on parchment paper and be very careful about placing it in the pan because without gluten it doesn't have the elasticity that your probably used to. If your not...
