There's a Neopets Islandberry Crunch that is gluten-free too. I'm a Cocoa pebbles girl, myself, but my hubbie likes these.

Thanks for the link JulieM. I'm just starting to research this, so everything is helpful. BTW - why is salt a problem? -

TCA replied to Rilith's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
My daughter just turned 1 and is also gluten intolerant. She has had one open heart surgery for pulmonary atresia and the 2nd is planned for August. She has a G-tube and we have unsuccessfully tried EVERYTHING under the sun to supplement my breast milk with to give her more calories. The most recent was formula called Compleat Pediatric which she proceeded... -
ARCHIVED For Those Of You With Corn Allergies/sensitivites
TCA replied to danikali's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I am very aware of how meds contain so much corn, I just don't know how to avoid it. I did call her allergist today and we have an appt. to get her tested for corn allergy next week. I figure that is a start. She reacts so violently to all formulas and the one common thing I see in all of them is corn of some form. Something just keeps telling me to pursue... -

I'm starting to wonder if my daughter has some problems with corn. I'm going throught things and everything has corn!!!! Any ideas for a trial besides the obvious meat and veggies? I hav eto go out of town for a wedding this weekend, so I thought I might start Monday. She gets everything through me since she's nursing. She's on soooo many meds, though... -
ARCHIVED Need Help With Blood Results
TCA replied to Annie/NM's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
i went gluten-free for my celiac daughter since she was nursing. I never thought I had symptoms either and presumed the disease came from my husband's family since he has type 1 diabetes. After going on the diet, however, the joint pain I'd had my entire life stopped. I had always had a lot of gas, but thought it was because I ate a lot of spicey foods... -
ARCHIVED Need Help - New Possible Dx - Son Sick!
TCA replied to DebbieJny's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Just a thought - if you can't get in with anyone for 2 mos, why not try a totally gluten free diet for a couple weeks. If he doesn't improve, you could always put him back on it for the tests for the reamaining 6 weeks. My son got gradually better on the diet, with the D stopping after 3 weeks. I could tell it was helping some after a week or so, though... -

My 1 year old has severe reflux and a heart condition. She has these gagging episodes about a dozen times a day. She refluxes and her hiatul hernia spasms. She is gluten free and on a number of reflux meds - carafate, reglad, prevacid..... I've asked what could cause it of so many doctors and they really don't know. some say it's the hernia, other a... -

We eat Edy's light and I have some Klondike bars in the freezer too. They will list gluten ingredients. -
My daughter has a lot of problems with constipation, but a lot of that is because she is on so many meds for her heart and reflux that are constipating. She has a feeding tube and I started mixing prunes right in with the breast milk at night since it runs at 2 oz. per hour over night. It has helped trememdously. I know prunes are sweet, but they are a...

Wishbone is gluten-free too. I got the lite one last week. -
I'm glad your family is doing good and the adjustment is easy. Tell your husband to be careful. Even a little gluten is too much gluten, causing damage IF he has celiac. Welcome to the board!

I'll be praying for your grandfather. Doctors told my dad when I was 7 that he wouldn't live another year. He's till with us and I'm 30. Drs. don't know everything. I do hope you get to feeling better soon. Your relationship with your grandpa sounds a lot like mine with my grandmother. She passed last Sept. and I miss her soooo much. My dad was...

TCA replied to betsy7's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
IgG can indicate a number of things going on in the body, not just celiac, but IgA represents Celiac, at least that's what they told me. Both were elevated in my son, but the Ttg was negative, so it was considered inconclusive. IgA, however, can be low if the total IgA is low. My son wasn't tested for that, but now that I know about it I wish he had. ... -

Yes - it's gluten-free. I contacted the company a while back. Anyone know about the No-Ad Sun Pals? - Meg got some for her birthday. -
Just wanted to let all of you know that my baby girl had a wonderful gluten free first birthday. Because of her heart surgeries, I made her a gluten free heart shaped cake with pink cream cheese icing. It was delish! She couldn't eat any because of her gagging issues, but she had fun playing in her cupcake. Thanks for all the support over the past few...

ARCHIVED Gallbladder Removal/potential Infertility
TCA replied to a topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Bless your heart, you'll be in my prayers. Who knows, though. Your hormone levels may have leveled out now that you're feeling better. I was told that I might not be able to concieve and I did twice on birth control!!! They're little unplanned blessings. Since then I have found out that the pill is often not effective for celiacs... Gotta love...
