    When I first started researching celiac disease, someone told me that a method for developing citric acid now had gluten in the process. I don't know if it was true or not and I haven't heard or read anything since. anybody else heard this nasty rumor?

    It took my son about 3 weeks for the d to stop. Like JakeaRoosMommy said, gluten is hidden in so many things. You might need to recheck what you're giving him.     Garlic Mashed Potatos boil potatoes until tender - I use red onees with the skin. Drain. add olive oil, garlic salt, italian seasonings and mash. A bit of milk substitute or chicken broth needs to be added too. They're sooooo good.

    My husband is diabetic and my kids are celiac. If her sugar isn't under good control, I urge them to check into a pump. It has made a world of difference with my husband's control. the hard part is most of the replacement flours are higher carb than the gluten ones. It's a constant struggle.     my son went through a big growth spurt (still is) after going gluten-free. Your son might just be trying to catch up if he got behind in his growth. My son eats a lot more when he hits a growth spurt. As long as he's not overweight, eating by habit, and eating healthy snacks, I say let him eat until he's full.     I really think you need to talk to the university. I bet they would give you acess to a kithcen, or even work out a meal plan for you. I went to college on a very limited budget and would cook when I had time and eat the leftovers.     I have a list of foods my 3 year old son eats, but it's all listed by brand. I don'tk now if that would help or not. Just PM me with your address if you want it. Bless your heart, this diet is hard enough when you CAN read the language! I hope it goes well.

    I do the same. Tylenol has worked best for me, but it doesn't get rid of the pain. a heating pad is nice too.

    I just had another thought - sorry can't get it all together this morning. Have you eliminated soaps, shampoos, lotions, etc. with gluten? These were causing major problems with my daughter. I missed these for a while and she had started losing wieght. As soon as I got rid of everything in the house, she started gaining again.

    I just happened to think, a lot of the things you mentioned can also be symptoms of anxiety and stress. I had an ulcer as a teenager because of stress, as well as insomnia. Stress can do a LOT of weird things to a body. I know how hard you're trying, but does he have a good outlet? Sports, friends...... There's nothing wrong with him having some couseling...

    I'm so sorry he feels so bad. My heart goes out to you. My daughter will be 1 this week and she has severe reflux. This causes her a LOT of pain. She wakes up a lot with it.
