That's wierd The current gluten-free menu on the Outback website still has it listed. Maybe your particular outback made it differently?

Paula Deen is my hero Did you see her France special? Precious!!! I have checked and I haven't seen anything I'm in a hippie town, maybe I can work something out with them. If nothing else, maybe I could just take a seminar for a certificate instead of a full blown diploma...

ARCHIVED Let's Talk Costco!

MSG in the US does not have gluten, generally. It's unhealthy for anyone, though. From a celiac standpoint, Hebrew National is safe. -

Kraft won't hide gluten in their labelling, so if there is not wheat, barley, rye, or oats listed in the ingredients, there is no gluten in it. If you're still unsure, you can call Kraft for your peace of mind. I've eaten it tons with no problems -
Wow! I was just about to post that! Annalise saw the plea for cinnamon rolls and wanted someone to post it on here. Way to beat me to it, Jillian! I haven't tried it yet, either. I think I'll try it when my mom is here in a few weeks. She makes great orange rolls, and I feel like I have to prove to her that I'm still a good cook gluten-free.

ARCHIVED Gin Seagrams Tanqueray Tonic
penguin replied to DOCKLEARFAN's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Distilled alcohol is OK regarless of grain, unless they add mash back in. Some people still react to them, but it's generally thought that it's not a gluten problem in those individuals. I stick to clear liquors, and I've been fine. Yes, that includes gin. -
Are Dill Pickles Safe To Eat?
penguin replied to sillyyak's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Pickles are almost always made with plain old white vinegar, and that's always distilled. I imagine pickles made with malt vinegar would be pretty gross -
That explains occasionally numb toes, nose, tingling on my scalp and my inability to walk around a corner without hitting it

Erm, so I guess my B-12 level of 277 isn't good?

ARCHIVED Newbie Needs Help Finding Yogurt & Salad Dressing!
penguin replied to Dancypants's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
All Cascade Fresh yogurt is gluten-free, and they label it as such. I'm pretty sure it's a dedicated facility. -

Sorry you're sick Are you sure you got the gluten-free ones? The boxes are almost identical except for the ribbon across the front. -
Did you use their dressing? Not all of them are gluten-free. I think that's how I got glutened there once, I had a dressing that was gluten-free, but reacted halfway through the salad. Also, having worked at a steakhouse, the dressings are in these metal tubs that are on a bar and usually the crutons are right next to the dressings and crutons got dropped...

ARCHIVED Gluten Challenge Update
penguin replied to penguin's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I don't have a true allergy to any foods, I just had allergy testing done in March. I have an oral allergy to tree nuts. I really think the hives are from the laundry detergent, it's the new Tide with Downy stuff. I'll give it a couple of weeks with the hypoallergenic detergent and if it doesn't get any better, I'll call the allergist, gastro, or both. Actually... -

penguin replied to DOCKLEARFAN's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Gin is made from juniper berries, not grain, so there is no reason for it not to be gluten-free -
ARCHIVED Please Please Please Help Me
penguin replied to wzcbj's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I have that problem, too. It's like I'm gulping for air and I can never get a breath quite deep enough. In college, I had a really poor score on the blow-out-raise-the-ball-thingy test. When I had allergy testing while gluten-free, it was totally normal. Now that I'm on a gluten challenge for a biopsy, the air-gulping came back. I think it's a hyper-active... -
Don't get me wrong, I like my job, I like my chosen field and I could live with having it as a career. Once I got used to the finer points of asking people for large sums of money. But... I've always wanted to go to culinary school. I would have gone straight out of high school, but my mom required me to get a 4 year university degree. So I did...

With some googling, it looks as though Cimetadine and prilosec don't interact. Wahoo! I'll ask my pharmacist just to make sure. I need to keep a PDR handy -
ARCHIVED Poll: How Many Have Celiac And Sleep Apnea?
penguin replied to Janine's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I had apnea until I was 14 when I got my adenoids removed and my sinuses widened. Apparenly, I couldn't breathe hardly at all because my sinuses were filled with my adenoids, and they were abnormally small to boot. I don't snore or anything anymore -
It's hard to say what would be safe. Is there any way to find out who is catering the wedding, and then ask them? It looks like they have some American and French dishes in there which worries me, because they might not be a strictly authentic Korean caterer. Offhand, I would say the kimichi is ok, as long as they don't put soy sauce in it, and the rice....

Tagamet? Really? I'm already taking prilosec so they probably interact. I know benadryl will help, I just hate taking it because I can only take it at night and I'm really groggy the next day Thanks for the tagamet suggestion! I may just try that! -
Do you mean the concealer brush? It looks kind of like a flat paintbrush? I have to get some more mineral veil at Sephora today, I go through that stuff so fast! DH is thrilled, I tend to drop a c-note when I go into sephora

ARCHIVED Gluten Challenge Update
penguin posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I'm exhausted. I was up all night with D and hives EVERYWHERE. I've been getting hives since about the time I started eating gluten again, but I started using a new detergent around the same time, so I have hypoallergenic detergent now and I'm in the process of re-washing everything. I hadn't gotten to the bed yet, so right now I'm thinking last night was... -

You can still make "Kraft" mac and cheese. The powdered cheese is gluten-free, and they sell it in a skinny blue can and it says "shake on popcorn" on it. I've found it with the velveeta in one store, and with the can parmesan in another, so it takes some hunting. Here's a link to buy it online, so at least you can see what you're looking for: Open Original...
