  1. I carry around a big ole purse. Almost diaper bag sized, actually. I don't have any kids, but everyone says I have a mom purse because of all I carry around *digging through purse*: Other than the obvious wallet, phone, palm, ipod, business cards, keys... mini manicure set (clippers, file, shaper) chapstick midol tylenol immodium bentyl deoderant...
  2. I was gone for TWO DAYS and there are like, 30 more pages. I can't keep up!
  3. That's awesome, Evie! I hope we get there one day, 1 year down, 59 more to go
  4. No gluten. It's butcher paper (paper is made from wood) coated in silicone.
  5. Είναι όλα τα ελληνικά σε με! Eenay ola ta elleeneekah say may! (in case you ever want to say "it's all greek to me" in greek!) I had to get the language installed on my comp when I was taking greek to do homework...on the rare occasions I would do it

  7. Modern greek for water is ύδωρ which is pronounced (forgive me, I'm in the throes of some major brain fog) uthor or eethor I haven't spoken greek in over a year, so it takes me a minute
  8. Yes, the whole family can enjoy it, and are likely used to rice pasta by now. Also, tinkyada tastes about identical to wheat noodles, and also has the same texture. My husband eats them without complaint The cutting board is another precaution. With wood, gluten can hide in the cuts of the wood made by the knife. Washing helps, but you can't be too...
  9. I agree with Natalie. I think there are extra precautions you can take, though. Make sure you don't mix anything with a wooden spoon that's used for gluten cooking, don't use your collander, use a disposable foil pan (and you won't have to worry about getting your pan back), don't use a wooden or plastic cutting board that's been used to cut bread, and don...
  10. It's called Sara's Secrets Open Original Shared Link And the contact info... Open Original Shared Link
  11. I'm outraged! They probably think she was just trying to get out of eating since she's there for an eating disorder. How dare the dietician say that Rice Krispies are safe! Tell her to call the company herself and ask them! I agree, call your lawyer and have him call the highest up in the hospital you can get. Get pictures of her rashes! TAKE...
  12. Here's Ben & Jerry's policy on gluten-free flavors from their website: Question Do you have a list of your gluten-free flavors? Answer We do not have a list of gluten-free flavors. Sorry! The ingredients that we use change quite often. We do not want to claim a flavor is gluten-free, then have that list become outdated and the...
  13. With suave, it depends on the formula. Suave is a unilever company that will clearly list gluten containing ingredients, food or otherwise. I've never had a problem with it. Is there something else that could be bothering you? Also, beware procter & gamble companies, they won't verify anything as being gluten-free.
  14. I would love to adopt, but I could never give up a child for adoption because I would be afraid of the home they were going to. My dad and his brother (twins) were adopted into a very wealthy, but crappy home. They were both into drugs and alcohol and both died of complications of both within 8 months of eachother. I need to contact their birth parents, but...
  15. Well, that left us with more questions than answers, didn't it. I wish I had something more intelligent to say, but I don't. Hopefully the GI will have a clue.
  16. That word didn't bother me so much, it was more discussing it with curious 9 year-olds.
  17. I used to be, and then I taught my scouts about menstruation, and the rest of the birds and the bees stuff. We're talking from the egg to the kid to the adult to pregnancy...and how pregancy happened. Yikes! I stumbled over some words, but it turned out just fine. I got lots of compliments from parents about it, although they asked me why I wouldn't answer...
  18. My DH got over his embarassment real quick when I had an emergency need for monistat. He's also been sent out for emergency OTC UTI meds, emergency phazyme, and emergency pregnancy tests. He's also present at Sam's when I buy tampax in bulk He's a good kid Sunday marks one year of marital bliss!!! Personally, I got over the embarassment...
  19. Par for the course
  20. Why didn't it work for you with hypoglycemia? I'm hypoglycemic too, and I don't know why being able to eat veggies and lean meats all you wanted wouldn't work? Thanks for your help!!!
  21. No worries, Jack doesn't bring any gluten to the party Neither does Jose, Jim, or Evan
  22. I've put on 20 lbs in the last two months on this stupid gluten challenge, on top of the 35 I already needed to lose. This is not good Anyway, I've decided to start Weight Watchers at the same time I go gluten-free again, and DH will too (he hates that his clothes keep shrinking ). I do have many questions that I can't seem to find many answers for...
  23. Especially their potato chips. The salt & pepper ones were my first glutening, it sucked.
  24. They said no advil because it's a blood thinner and will make the biopsy sites bleed, as will any other NSAIDS. No pepto either for the same reason. Levsin should be fine, I would think. It's just an anti-spasmodic, though I don't think it would help your gas pain any.
