  1. Don't forget GLUTEN IS ADDICTIVE!!! I think the best way to break the addiction is to get some good gluten-free substitutes. There are many cookbooks and products available, but you will have to actually do the cooking yourself. I think some decent gluten-free breads and cookies can calm the cravings long enough for you to get over the addiction. I...
  2. I just ordered Annalise Roberts' baking book--don't know what flour mix she uses, but several people on this board have raved about it. I also just got Roben Ryberg's gluten-free kitchen cookbook--she swears by a cornstarch/potato starch blend, not a speck of rice flour in sight--and The Everything gluten-free Cookbook by Rick Marx and Nancy Maar, which...
  3. Thinking lots of good thought for you and sending love and prayers--have agood trip to Vanderbilt!
  4. If it gets to the point where the baby needs more than you are producing, if you pump every 90 minutes or so (even if it's jsut for half a day and then go back to every 3 hours), your milk supply will increase by the next day. It might seem like it's not at first--the second time you go to pump (after 90 minutes), you will feel like you're practically...
  5. I emailed them yesterday, and already got a reply: Thank you for your interest in our park and our quest to offer healthier food choices. We are taking very careful and calculated steps to hopefully bring gluten free items into the park. There is great concern about being able to offer gluten free foods without having cross contamination issues. We want...
  6. Tanya--how are things today?
  7. Actually, I said that. And, yes, we know about the effectiveness of the gluten-free diet for celiacs. The big problem is, most doctors don't know squat about celiac disease in the first place, let alone what might be dangerous (or safe, for that matter) for celiacs who have been plagued with years of diarrhea. Most doctors wouldn't recogninze a celiac if...
  8. More prayers coming from Pittsburgh--hang in there, Judy, and don't forget to watch something FUNNY on TV/video (bacteria HATE laughter)!!!!!
  9. Good for you! I know what you mean--I never even looked at my own breasts until I started breastfeeding, and then they didn't seem like my own body andy more, they seemed like milk bottles suck to me! How often are you pumping, and do you have a decent pump? (Sorry, they probably covered this at the La LEche meeting already.)
  10. What is the difference between epsom salts and regular table salt or Kosher salt?
  11. Thanks for posting this--come on everybody--even if you are not from PA or OH, let's email the heck out of this thing so they HEAR us for a change!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Harrisburg is 4 1/2 hours from me. Oh, well.
  13. I tried the vinegar thing--it made everything much worse. My reflux is not a load of crap, it's a load of acid that comes up and comes out my mouth and nose if I'm lying down! The Nexxium is helping enormously--but I don't want to be on it the rest of my life. I'm hoping I can wean off of it entirely--hopefull going gluten-free in January helps this (hasn...
  14. Aha. I think it's the same idea as the coconut oil--deprive the wart of oxygen and away it goes...
  15. Major prayers and positive energy coming from PA!
  16. Still clueless over here . You can tell I'm a transplant! I'm 12 miles north of Pittsburgh, and the Bravo I went to is about 20 miles north of Pittsburgh, just south of the intersection of the turnpike (I-76) and I-79. There's also one on McKnight road,, about 6 miles North of Pittsburgh. Does that help?
  17. I have this nasty wart on my finger that I had hoped would go away if I ignored it long enough, but man, it's stubborn. Also,, my daughter has had the weirdest wart on her finger for several years now, and it won't go away, either. Hers looks like an inchworm, but skin colored, and it's on the back of her finger. Her pediatrician says if it doesn't bother...
  18. Wow, you've got a lot on your plate there (and none of it seems to be chocolate ). Have you seen a good chiropractor? I may have already asked you this--if so, sorry to be repetitive. I have been to 2 chiropractors. One convinced me that they are all quacks. The second (which my primary care doctor sent me to) relieved 80% of my back pain following...
  19. On the other hand, we all know that Western Medicine treats EVERYTHING by surgical, chemical, or radiological methods. Just look at all the ads for IBS meds, ADD meds, even meds for the common cold!
  20. Where is Pine Ridge? (I might be close to it, I just don't know where it is )
  21. Well, you're on the right track already because you are starting PT/OT. They will have lots of very good ideas for you for starters. If you can afford it, I would suggest getting a LOT of help witht the housework--soemone else can do THAT for you, but only you can exercise for yourself. So if you have alimited amount of energy to expend, expend it on exercise...
  22. Yes, they did! I didn't ask what brand, but I'm guessing Tinkyada or something of that calibre--it was delicious--couldn't tell it apart from regular pasta (except I didn't react to it)!
  23. They're a national chain--I just googled them and found this: Open Original Shared Link. They also operate Brio, Lindey's, and Bon-Vie. I have no idea if they are all this great, but it's always worth checking into!
  24. Even scarier is the fact that it's probably not the selection process-- he was probably the brightest applicant they got for that job... Heck, just look at our medical system--our MDs are supposed to be the best and brightest in our society, and look what idiots most of them are!
  25. Can you eat avocados? Maybe you could puree one and mix it with al little rice or almond milk and drizzle it on your greens? Or maybe raspberries or strawberries?
