  1. If anyone would like to review my presentation and give me feed back you can find it at: Open Original Shared Link Thanks!
  2. What types of allegies do you have (If you don't mind me asking). The first thing my web page will do is to eliminate all recipes based on your specific allergy. So far I have Soy, Gluten, Corn, Peanuts, Treenuts, Lactose, Egg, Nitrates, Sulfites. What else should I include? I did not specifically include shellfish or fish since the second part of my...
  3. Hi my name is Janine and I am currently finishing up my college degree (at the age of 45!!). For my senior project I decided to create a web page that allows people with food allergies/intolerances to find recipes easily based on their specific needs. The basic idea is to select items you want to avoid, then select the items you want to include. For example...
  4. I am not very knowledgable on this subject but you may want to check out the federal HIPAA regulations. It covers a persons privacy in regards to their medical conditions. That teacher may be inviolation and can be fined if guilty. I would take it to the superintendent, human resources department head, and the board. Be aware, though, that anything you...
  5. I had a colonoscopy and everything came back normal. Jhmom, I am really curious since I think my tenormin might be a huge problem. It is listed as a drug that can cause drug induced lupus. I started getting joint pain, leg cramps, etc. I asked my pc and she says, get this, "Those are not symptoms of lupus". She doubles my medication and I was so sick...
  6. I have been having problems for about 1 1/2 years. It seemed to come on suddenly and about the same time my doctor switched my blood pressure meds. The diarrhea got so severe the only thing that helped was a huge dose of flagyl. I was fine for a month. My GI runs every test in the book. Evidently I am a very healthy person! I am by this time so ill...
  7. Good luck on your surgery, I hope you feel better soon. I am curious, I have the same pain and have had an ultrasound and ct scan which are normal. I have not had a biliary scan though. The pain always accompanies diarrhea and the sensitive spot in my back is painful to touch. I sat in one of those massaging chairs and when it hit there I was in pain...
  8. I had a nasty reaction to what I thought was a safe sauce. I would check and make sure it is on the "safe" list. Amys is good, I ate the whole thing by myself!
  9. I am in the midst of the same thing. I was taking atenolol and I kept telling the doctor it was making me sick. Of course they said no, its not the medicine. My blood pressure was rising so she doubled it! After two days I refused to take it anymore (I know not the right way) but my blood pressure was higher, severe diarrhea, heart palpitations, dizzy...
  10. Oh, thanks. I am pretty sure I know what "agenda" they have. It is pretty sad to do that here, people who have a serious illness and need support.
  11. Excuse me for being ignorant but what is a troll?
  12. Hum, is that something like the Weekly World News? BTW, that article comes from PETA, not quite an unbiased source
  13. I did not have a whole lot of trouble with morning sickness but I had alot of trouble during the last trimester ( my son is now 16). I went into labor at 7 months, had preeclampsia, high blood pressure, etc. I was bed ridden for 3 months and that was my only pregnancy. I was jealous of my friends who had effortless pregnancies. The good thing is I had...
  14. I am so sorry you are having such a rough time. I think just feeling ill so much can cause depression. I am having a hard time fighting it. About your back pain, have you had test for others things to rule out? I have a hiatal hernia and GERD which causes me back spasms sometimes. I think my whole digestive system is a mess. I also get right shoulder...
  15. Good luck celiac3270 and Stacie!
  16. Tator tots are not on the list from Ore Ida, I always thought they were gluten-free . I never did hear from Prego.
  17. My family is being very patient and I want to cook the way they are used to the best that I can. Tonight I am making swiss steak. I am using rice flour. Is this the best or is there a better flour or combo. I am thinking of meals where the meat is floured beforehand and the sauce thickens as it cooks. Do I need to rethink this and add the thickener after...

    ARCHIVED Dandruff

Maybe you should check with the manufacturer to see if they switched ingredients. Now that I know better, before going gluten-free I was using a leave in conditioner that would leave my head itchy and smelly. I thought I had some sort of fungus or something. I still have the bottle and looking at the ingredients wheat is one of them.
  19. Not a dumb question! I got very sick from something that seemed harmless on the label but wasn't. I am learning the hard way to ask and verify before I eat anything.
  20. Also if you are having a spell of diarrhea nuts and beans can make it worse.
  21. I would love to try canning but my husband told me "No more kitchen gadgets!" LOL. I do have alot of kitchen helpers. Lets see, dehydrator, pasta maker, bread maker, seal-a-meal, food processor, salad shooter, ice cream maker, kitchen aid mixer and regular mixer, electric can opener, two toasters, hum what am i missing? Now that I have about 10 types...
  22. Yes, I have one too. I make beef jerky and dehydrate hot peppers for my own chili powder mix. Hum, I haven't made jerky in awhile
  23. I don't now what else they can do. I have had an ultrasound, ct scan, small bowel follow through, endoscopy, colonoscopy plus blood work. It did feel like a gallbadder attack though.
  24. It started with the dizzy spells, then the pain under my right rib with diarrhea that continues still. I have lost 4 pounds in 4 days, not a huge amount but still not good. Now I have leg cramps. I always have perrier water at work but yesterday it was gone so I did not drink enough (I swear there were 4 bottles there). I called my gp and have an appointment...
  25. The only trouble I have had with potatoes is when I add sour cream. My tummy is still healing and I have developed a lactose intolerance. Be careful of french fries from restaurants (cross contamination) and fries with spices or additives.
