ARCHIVED Blood Tests- Sgpt?
whitball replied to whitball's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Are your levels still elevated? Did you find out the cause of the elevation? I am recovering and back to work. I had a mild traumatic brain injury and a shattered wrist as a result of the fall. I am back to work and going through physical therapy three times a week. -

ARCHIVED Blood Tests- Sgpt?
whitball posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
A few months ago I fell down the stairs at my house and ended up at the ER. While there every test imaginable was done including a SGPT (ALT) my level was 97 and it was noted as abnormal. Normal appears to be 7-56. When I looked it up the SGPT is something related to the liver? No one said anything about it, but I can't help but wonder if this is something... -

I have had 5 abdominal surgeries (3 c-sections, 2 laparoscopies, 1 hysterectomy) I have adhesions that have decided to latch onto my bowel. I experience ongoing pain, often daily and dread any kind of bm. I recently saw my gastro. dr., who confirmed the adhesions. My options? Surgery or leave it alone. I chose to leave it alone until it becomes an emergency...

ARCHIVED Arrhythmia
whitball replied to mirabella's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I have had an irregular heart beat for years. I have had it checked numerous times. I have learned that fatigue and stress causes most of my symptoms. Most of the time I notice this at night, when I am laying on my left side. If I am rested, I have very few problems. -

ARCHIVED Just Wanted To Vent!

Great idea about the heating pad. I am supposed to hot and cold contrast, but have found it hard to do at work. I cover two counties and spend alot of time in my car. I have a way to plug it in the car and can warm up and cool down in between meetings. Thanks! -
I'm so happy for you!

whitball replied to Blessings's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
You are in my thoughts and prayers. -
Okay, I just need to vent...... on 6/10, I fell down the stairs at my home. I fell head first and sustained a mild traumatic brain injury and shattered my wrist (two plates, and one pin). One would think that after almost two months, I would be close to being on the mend. I have been going to physical therapy for a couple of weeks and today the decision...

ARCHIVED Petunia, The Screaming Chihuahua
whitball replied to laurelfla's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
You really need to have the vet see your puppy. We bought two german shepard pups in October. The owner certified that they had been wormed and vaccinated. OUr pups did the same as yours. Cried, whined, etc. We took them to the vet and found that they were not wormed. They were very ill, had a horrible case of worms and were very under weight. It took... -

ARCHIVED Trouble With Perscription Drugs
whitball replied to Karenay's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
some medications can be compounded by some pharmacies. They can take out the fillers and set it up so that only the main ingredient is left. It is often suspended in liquid form and can taste pretty bad. But the end result is the medication is gluten free. -
ARCHIVED Bladder/pelvic Pain With Celiacs?
whitball replied to lookingforanswers17's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
You need to find a Urologist that will take you seriously. Many doctors have forgotten that they work for us, not the other way around. You might need to remind them once or twice of that fact. I have done this when I have been referred to specialists. I treat the first meeting as an interview and make my expectations clear. Makes a few of the "medical... -
I took my 17 year old daughter to see the doc to find out why she is tired all of the time. We ended up seeing a resident, rather than our usual doc. I explained her symptoms and asked to have her tested for celiac disease. The resident looked at her chart and noticed that she was on the pill last year. She was placed on the pill for menstral pain along...

ARCHIVED Can We Start A Corn Intolerance Support Thread?
whitball replied to emcmaster's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I am having problems with corn and also with rice. It amazes me that so much of our food uses has corn in it. I also amazes me how many foods do not really specify what is in their product. The citric acid thing ruined my day. The limitations are bad enough just being a celiac, but to have additional limitations with rice and corn makes it tougher. Now... -
ARCHIVED Ct Scan - Prep Ingredients - Make Sure You Know The Ingredients
whitball replied to whitball's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I had to do both, the iodine and the crappy tasting stuff that was supposed to taste like mixed berry. NoGlugal, I have not been diagnosed with DH, but I do have scabs on my scalp because my head itches alot, my hands itch with some soaps, is this how your skin reactions started? -
I also refer to Celiac as a disease, especially when I am trying to explain this "disease" to others. It is an aweful problem to have and it is often a progressive disease. Most are not diagnosed until significant damage has occured. My mother was not diagnosed until she was 60. The disease has damaged her thyroid, caused osteopenia, DH,. She can no...

I had a CT scan on Friday to look at my abdomen and pelvis. I have had significant pain after bowel movements during the last several months. I believe the pain is from adhesions as a result of having several abdominal surgeries. I was asked to drink some sort of fluid a few hours before the scan. It was only after drinking the first portion of the liquid...

ARCHIVED Tubal Ligation?
whitball replied to Glutenfreefamily's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I would advise you to make sure that you need to have the surgery. Any abdominal surgery increases the chances of having problems with scar tissue. I have had six abdominal surgeries. 3 c-sections, 2 laparoscopies and 1 hysterectomy. All were necessary, but I now live with horrible pelvic pain and I know that this is cause by scar tissue. I have tried...
