ARCHIVED Going To Denver Tonight
Green12 replied to VegasCeliacBuckeye's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I used to LOVE BeauJo's pizza. They sell the pizza by weight (1 lb., 2 lb., 3 lb., and so on.) so they are these heavy dense, what they call 'mountain pies'. The crust is awesome and unique, thin in the middle where the toppings are and then the edge is rolled up really thick and has the texture and consistency of fresh bread. They serve it with honey... -

So maybe eggs aren't the best idea for you if they don't sit well with your system. We are all different and what works for one doesn't necessarily work for another. I hope you find something that works for you! -
Thanks for sharing this plantime, I might be interested in this time at just supporting the liver and strengthening it rather that cleansing it. These herbs you mentioned sound like they do just that.

Broncobux, I would also be interested in hearing how your Deby's Gluten Free experience went. If you wouldn't mind posting that would be great and much appreciated! -
My approach to this would be, stop looking back, what's done is done, let it go and focus on looking forward. You made a mistake and fell off the wagon, just get up and get right back on and move ahead. I agree you need to do this for yourself and the strength is there, maybe you just have something blocking it. I personally did the opposite of what...

Peanut butter Well it's something to start with anyway. It's so good too. Wouldn't that be something if eliminating peanut butter makes a difference for you?!?! I had read something very interesting some time ago about peanuts and their high mold content and that people who have severe allergies to peanuts (the ones who can die...

Yay, Rachel! Good to see you back. Thanks for sharing your update. Hi Rachel's Mom I am thinking a garden is in my future too, but I think it's going to take some time. -

What about fruit? I eat a lot of fruit for breakfast now since I am staying away from eggs and it seems to be fine with my blood sugar. Also, if you can tolerate eggs you can make these mini fritata things ahead of time and freeze them and then grab a couple of them and take to work and heat up in the microwave and eat, or eat before you go- whatever... -
Sorry I can't be more specific and helpful Berneses! It might be a case where you just have to do some experimenting and food rotation to see if something you are eating is related to your night sweats. I know that isn't very fun, but if it would perhaps help it might be worth it. Good luck with it all!

I haven't tried the bagels, but if they are anything like the Enjoy Life Foods cookies, yum! -

Whoa, Marillion. That's a blast from the past for me. My brother really liked them when we were in high school, he was going to name his first born Kayleigh. I'll bite, what band is your brother in? -
ARCHIVED Ener-g Breads
Green12 replied to Lister's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Lister, I don't know about the nuts, but as far as the gluten free breads go I think all of them are an acquired taste. I think what works best is just testing them all out to see what you like best. -

ARCHIVED Help! Need A gluten-free Frosting!
Green12 replied to mart's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
jersey, what is 10x sugar? Is that the super fine sugar? Usually frostings use powdered sugar in them and I just really have an aversion to powdered sugar for some reason so it would be great to find a recipe that uses a different type of sugar. This sounds really good! -

This is all really good feedback on the Bare Minerals girls. I already love it before even trying it -
I don't do soy at all, that really gets my system all whacky. Grains are a problem for me, if I eat any I have to eat them in small amounts. I also try to stay away from dairy, I do have an occasional indulgence. If I have sugar in combination with grains and/or dairy this is what I notice affects if I have a night with sweating or not. I think it has...

Green12 replied to VegasCeliacBuckeye's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
No problem Mango! If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask. I know this area pretty well as far as where the healthfood stores are (there's a Wild Oats and Whole Foods in the area as well) and Debby's Gluten Free Cafe & Bakery, and the Denver Beau Jo's. Enjoy your stay in Denver -
I just thought of this Berneses, I don't have as many night sweats as I used to. They used to be a frequent occurrence for me, now just occasional, but I started doing some detective work and they changed according to my diet. I noticed if I had more sugar and starches they would be worse. This made me think there was a blood sugar connection involved...

ARCHIVED gluten-free Flour Substitutions
Green12 replied to mac3's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Hi mac3 I don't know specifically an answer to your question. I am wondering if Carol Fenster's cookbooks/baking books might have conversion charts for all of the different gluten-free flour substitutions. If nobody else knows it might be something to look into. -

Thanks so much jersey for filling me in on Bare Minerals products! You are always so helpful This sounds like it is right up my alley. I like the coverage of make-up but I want it to look and feel natural. I have always had the hardest time with foundations, first of all finding a color match, and then finding one that didn't feel like I had goop... -

Tiffjake, Yep, that is THE guy, Baby Beluga, Down By the Bay, Shake the Sillies Out, 6 Little Ducks, and so much more! Raffi is awesome and kids LOVE him. If you ever need to give a baby shower gift, or a gift for a baby's birth, and need ideas Raffi's cds and videos go over really big. Berneses, I love Carlos Nikai... -
Has anybody been to, or have any information about, the alternative health center (I don't recall the name of the facility...) in Wichita???
