Anne Lee is a nutritionist at Columbia Presbyterian (where Green is) and seems to be, in nutrition, undisputed as the most knowledgeable aboout celiac.
-
Good point...and there may be just too much to digest if we made a topic packed with information--that would be the same as going to any old celiac site and reading about it, only we'd be doing it again in our own words.
-
Anne Lee said that it's safe to use the same grill (such as in a restaurant) because it burns off. I haven't had any personal experience with either being glutened or not being glutened, because I haven't used a glutened grill before.
-
And here is one example...even in the link it's an "allergy":

I posted the link in my celiac disease in the news thread, as well:

Guess what? Celiac referred to as an allergy? There's another topic on that, so maybe I'll provide a link to this one...
-
Yes, sorry. This topic kind of floated from an idea to create a new topic to discussion of more advanced use of the search feature. I could split the topic, making one half called "use of the search feature" and another remaining the same...
-
All sent.
Sorry, I wasn't on for most of yesterday...playing sports intensely for three and a half hours at high humidity/temperature and I got a little heatstroke: migraine, dehydration, vomiting...ick. Feeling much better now.
-
Umm...I'm not very chemically concerned, but I once found little black specks in my food--the teflon was peeling off onto the food being cooked on it...yuck. Now it's all stainless steel.
-
It doesn't bother me when someone calls it that. I don't really care personally, and therefore, unless it's someone who really needs to know, I won't correct them. It does bother me in articles because I think if you're researching this for an article, you should get it right.

I LOVE the Candy Tree Cherry Vine Licorice! Scott should sell it on Celiac.com!!!! HINT!!!
Haha
PM him about it--I don't know if he reads all the posts (though he seems to read the techincal section

For me, everyone's avatar shows up except for yours. It has that thing where it's a blank box with the little red x in the upper left corner.
EDIT: That was made in reference to Penny...just said that since I posted after Kaiti, so it might appear I was referring to hers, etc.

Thanks for the info celiac3270--glad to see they were on Delphi too. I hardly ever go to Delphi--don't know how you can keep up with two boards at the same time !
LOL, I don't really. I keep up on this board. The Delphi board I try to check daily, but it's usually every other day or so...and I don't post there (a whopping 60, total, lol), so it's just a matter of reading
.

I couldn't remember the topic where I was asked for a dry rub recipe, so I thought I'd put it with the recipes. Imagine that.
LOL, Richard.
I like the sarcastic humor...and is this the first time you've started a topic here? Thank you for sharing, anyway

I haven't used them, but they were discussed extensively a couple months ago at Delphi. They would protect the bread. I guess it might be good for traveling, when you want to be able to toast, but don't want to lug around a toaster. For at home on a regular basis, however, it would seem much more economical and logical just to buy a $10 toaster.
-
Umm...not sure what you meant about the blond hair thing. But you cannot post images on the board, save for in your avatar. You can post hyperlinks to your images.
-
DO NOT REPLY HERE. THIS IS A DUPLICATE POST. THE OTHER IS PINNED UNDER PRE-DIAGNOSIS AND THIS ONE WILL BE REMOVED SHORTLY.
-
Yes. Since people (myself included) often don't sign their posts, it's easier to tell who it is by looking at the name or avatar...and the boxes are doubled, so I couldn't help not noticing them.
-
Just inquire about the coupons and copy Danna's e-mail...she'll get back
-
Yes. Edys has the gluten-free flavors on their flavor finder if you check "gluten-free". Haagen-Dazs will send you a gluten-free list. I don't know about eggs, but I think you can choose egg-free on the Edy's website flavor finder, as well.

For those who like the Ians chicken nuggets or fishsticks (they make gluten-free kinds). I e-mailed about a week and a half ago and got the coupons yesterday. One for a free box (but only worth up to $3.99, so you'd have to pay about a dollar, then two buy one get one free coupons (of $3.99). E-mail Open Original Shared Link. I found out about this from another list. Below is Danna Korn's instructions:
Hi, everyone!
Ian's Natural Foods has some great gluten-free products (frozen kids' foods!). They're offering free coupons to ROCK members (and anyone) to try the products. Just contact Kitty Broihier at nutricomminc@mac.com and enjoy! I've tried them -- they're great!

Open Original Shared Link -- gluten-free beer
Open Original Shared Link -- I read about this a few days ago. A celiac who was bicycling from CA to ME, about 4000 miles, was hit
-
Medication absolutely can contain gluten--check.
-
Both were good ideas, I think. Let us know if you find out what the changes to the board might be...I'm excited to get new features, lol...like Christmas Eve!

Open Original Shared Link
The above link takes you there. It's a free, very large, message board, which you have to register at to read, I think, but it's free. You CAN pay extra for special features like an e-mail system there, icons next to your name, etc. The people there make a food list, which they then post for free. You can download it at the site or I can send it to you.
