  1. That's ok. I would just need to experiment with the "flour mix" ingredients and I would still be able to use your variations.
  2. Possibly soy. I had pain from my knee to my ankle frequently. Don't know if it was the gluten or soy or both.
  3. Dawn, Yes, I feel the diagnosis is definitive. If Joe has been gluten free for a year, he may not have antibodies, but you'd get the gene's and dairy if you did the whole panel. It also depends on how bad he was. They say the antibodies stay in the intestines awhile. Also if he has had any cc situations then he would still register. Enterolab says...
  4. I'm with you Molly. I don't think they look so bad....I'm just into more practical shoes.....like sneakers. Julie, Sounds like you may be caving in. Tavi, I'm sorry. I know it's hard to up and move, especially with work.....but could that be a possibility to work towards?
  5. Oh, how I remember those. I had mine done before finding out we were expecting Seth. I still have 4 teeth that are cracked. I'm thinking of having two pulled since they are the back molars. Not looking forward to having any more done and am out of money anyway. I still want to get allergy testing done for the rest of the family too. Maybe someday...
  6. Rachel, I'll be looking forward to the next installment after your appointment next week.
  7. I don't buy the mixes but these sound good.
  8. Sounds good Autumn.....Thank you!
  9. I was on a vegan diet for 3 years and a ovo or lacto-ovo diet for 4-5 years before that. I went off of meat since it was "so bad for you". I had to start eating meat again because I am intolerant to gluten and soy as well as allergic to other beans. My allergy test didn't cover all of them but I just tried one that wasn't on the list and had stomach distress...
  10. Dawn, Dietary restrictions are hard until we get used to them, yes. It will become second nature to you. Enterolab does offer just dairy too, depends on what you are looking for. You can go over their tests and packages and see what is best suited for your needs. I pursued Enterolab after my infant son's eczema drove me to get allergy testing done...
  11. If you don't have any obvious symptoms from soy than I don't know, but the elminination diet should tell you something. I, and many others, are gluten/soy/dairy free. I just went dairy free again after trying raw cheese. My allergies weren't as bad but still there. I do have some recipes I could pm you or post if you don't have other intolerances...
  12. And also look into soy and dairy. Carla is on to something too. Also check out the article by dogtorj. He has gone through a lot and has done tons of research. I haven't read too much of the article yet as my husband and I like to read together. I just need to read it and hilight what I want him to note. Open Original Shared Link
  13. Dawn, I would highly recommend enterolabs full gluten panel ($369). It includes gene testing, IgA antibodies, ttg, malabsorption and did include dairy back in May when I had it done. That will tell you whether he has an intolerance to dairy. I would keep him gluten free for sure as I have read that gluten is associated with down's and there should...
  14. They all, except possibly Lyme, have associations with gluten. Go gluten free and see how many of your symptoms resolve themselves. If you already are gluten free, in everything, then I don't know. I have also read associations of Lupus with aspartame. It seems like I've read something else that was associated with Fibromyalgia but I can't think of...
  15. A wheat or gluten allergy is different from a gluten senisivity/intolerance. If you want something in writing, contact enterolab and see what the youngest age they can test is. They say you can be gluten free for a certain length of time but I'm not sure that length of time would be the same with little ones. If you want to check it out Open Original...
  16. There is no such thing as remission. If your friend has been diagnosed with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity/intolerance than he/she is always going to cause some damage to the body if gluten is ingested. It may take some time for really obvious symptoms to occur but damage is being done. Your friend needs to be gluten free for life. No ifs, ands...
  17. Alison, 20 months is plenty old enough. Then need a 1/2 cup sample so the sample would need to be frozen until at least a half cup was collected. We wrapped our containers in foil when we put them in the freezer to keep from contaminating anything else. I would cut out the milk products that you are allergic to for at least 2 months preferrably...
  18. Susan, It is so good to see you ....I've missed you! I do hope you are feeling better, I'm here if you need me. As far as breastfeeding.....I wasn't (I was an 8 week preemie) and my two oldest that have an active gluten sensitivity through enterolab were both breastfeed for 2 years and 10 months.
  19. If your daughter can afford the testing I would highly recommend enterolab. If she has IBS, she more than likely already has a problem with gluten. With as strongly as it attacked you and your mother she should definately be more concerned and checking the IBS out. As far as blood tests she would need the celiac blood panel, but if she's already gone...
  20. No other way to look for allergies that I know of. A website you might want to look at is by someone who does not eat gluten/dairy/soy or corn. It is Open Original Shared Link. Look for an article by the name of Answer. I copied the article from his old website.....the new one has a revised copy I believe....just less wordiness. I haven't read the...
  21. I don't know where your doctor is getting his/her information. You need to be totally gluten free for life or you will continue damaging your intestines or other parts of your body. If you really want to see the damage, do the enterolab stool test. Nikki, I would also recommend the enterolab stool test for you too, if you need/want to see the...
  22. Enterolab does a gluten panel that includes gene testing, IgA antibodies, malabsorption and ttg for $369 (it included dairy back in May). They also test for soy/egg/yeast for $199.
  23. It definately sounds like you are gluten sensitive. I was tested through enterolab and would recommend that if you want some numbers that prove you are gluten sensitive. If you don't then just go totally gluten free and leave it at that. You also need to check personal care products, as well as any meds you may be taking. If you want to check out...
  24. From what I've read about others recovery times.....if he had alot of damage to his intestines, it will take awhile to heal. Give it at least 6 months. On the other hand he should feel better too. Be sure to check all personal care products and if he is on any medications those also need to be checked. I just read something in Dangerous Grains where...
