ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something

Blame the thread about how we get anything done if we're on here all day. I'm trying to limit myself but not doing such a good job of it. A/C is running overtime so we are cool. Chelsea, I don't know either....hopefully some one else will. -

ARCHIVED Enterolab...legit?
AndreaB replied to linz7997's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Can autoimmune diseases or reactions improve with a gluten-free diet? Clearly most immune-related damage in the intestine heals with a gluten-free diet. Now it appears from early research of this question that many if not all autoimmune diseases such as autoimmune thyroid disease, psoriasis, alopecia, arthritis, lupus, hepatitis, diabetes, among others,... -

Angi, Enterolabs website is Open Original Shared Link. We got the full panel done which included dairy at the time (maybe it still does) for $369. If you opted for the egg/soy/yeast that would be another $199. If dairy is not longer included, it is $99. I had the testing done because of my allergy tests showing positive for gluten and other things... -

Mayflowers, They can't tell you whether you have celiac, only whether you have an active gluten intolerance. They do catch the disease earlier than blood so the severity shouldn't be as bad in either case. As far as I understand, those with gluten sensitive genes can't get celiac per say, but sometimes can be just as bad as celiac. Isn't celiac linked... -

If you are only going gluten free then try reducing her meds and see how she does. If you are willing to remove dairy for awhile as a trial then you would also reduce and probably be able to get rid of them all together. You'll probably find her bowels don't get so gummed up off of gluten and dairy. Try going gluten and dairy free and keep her meds where... -

Also if you have just an allergy it may get better over time and you would be able to consume some products again. With an intolerance/sensitivity you can't. I found out I was allergic to the gluten and some gluten products and with enterolab found out that I was also intolerant to all gluten. My allergy tests didn't give me the whole picture since I didn... -

Good morning girls and guys. I know it's almost afternoon for you easterners. Rachel, It sound as though the chips may be a problem. Knock off the corn again and continue seeing how you do with the dairy. Donna, Cissie, Susan?, Robbin, Chelsea, I forget who all posted about pains and possible fibromyalgia. I don't know anything... -

Rachel, Your edit is too funny. I've also been emoticon restricted. Primarily when I wanted to put alot of laughs in. Oh well, I guess we'll have to deal with it. Susan, I'm sorry. I was worried you might get glutened yesterday over at your brothers. Could that have been it? I just heard my alarm....maybe I can go to... -

OMG Rachel, you might be on to something. I couldn't resist. I have a caution to throw in here. Do you think it's wise to try dairy and corn at the same time. How are you going to know what is bothering you if you do have a reaction? It sounds like you may be on the right track though. And yes, celery grows in or near the ground. I tried it once... -
Hmmm, I don't know. We have an OSF near us so I will make a point to call and find out about that and what they do to make sure they minimize the risk of cross contamination. We used to go there quite a bit, would be nice to possibly have that option again. I would think as with any restaurant that cross contamination is possible though.

ARCHIVED Enterolab
AndreaB replied to Linda56's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I highly recommend enterolab and you won't be disappointed. I had my whole family tested and we didn't really have the money either. I am so glad we did because we found out that 3 of 4 of us have active gluten intolerance. We didn't go through a doctor or anything, just had testing done based on my allergy tests and curiosity. It is well worth the expense... -
ARCHIVED How Does The Enterol Lab Work?
AndreaB replied to mom2two's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Enterolab does self referral mostly, although I've read some posts that doctors have referred to them. They do not bill insurance. That's up to the client to bill their own insurance to see if they will cover it. We didn't bother. Enterolab is accurate for all ages since it is a stool test. Your poor daughter. If she tested positive with blood work... -
ARCHIVED Blood Tests & Enterolab
AndreaB replied to jayhawkmom's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Enterolab is more conclusive. They can catch celiac or gluten intolerance before it gets bad enough to be registering in the blood. -
I've never washed my rice and hadn't even thought about that. I buy organic brown rice. Thanks for the inquiry...I will definately contact the manufacturer. It's Lundberg I buy from and it seems their other rice products are ok.

Susan, The screening process is that they have to be gluten free. Don't forget....Rachelville is the bestest place there ever was or will be.
