It seems to have sunk in ok. I agree, beautiful picture Celia. I just love everyone's new pics! Cissie, Thanks for all your work. Before everyone is done on this thread we'll all be doctors right. Not! -

Thanks Christina! Wow, you really got thrown for loop with all that...no wonder you feel awful. I've read the article on colloidal silver before, I'll have to check out the other ones. I know a lot of holistic doctors use that stuff. I've read of a lot of people giving their children colloidal silver to keep them healthy...don't know if it's an everyday... -
ARCHIVED Tricare Won't Pay For My Enterolab Work
AndreaB replied to Sarah8793's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I'm sorry you got the run around Sarah. We got enterolab tests done too...I didn't even bother with finding out if insurance would cover it. I too agree that it was worth the expense. -

ARCHIVED Celiac Vs. Gluten Intolerant
AndreaB replied to wozzy's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
OK Mango, You get to be the resident expert today. Anyone else can jump on board also. I tested allergic to both gluten (moderate) and gliadin (low) and tested gluten intolerant through enterolab. Does this mean I shouldn't eat quinoa, amarnth, or teff? I just bought some flour of those as well as quinoa. -
ARCHIVED Enterolab Or Kimball?
AndreaB replied to dionnek's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I believe so. If your child has eaten any gluten since starting solids then whenever her body started responding to the gluten would be in the intestines. It all starts in the intestines before the levels are high enough to be read in the blood. I had my family tested except for my infant as he wasn't on solids and he's not on oats yet. My oldest boy... -

That's awful Chrissy! Please let us know how things work out. Is there no way to bring her home? -
ARCHIVED Enterolab Or Kimball?
AndreaB replied to dionnek's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
As a plus for enterolab, with the stool test they can catch IgA antibodies before they would be in the blood, therefore before major damage has happened. -
ARCHIVED New Diagnosed Celiac, What To Do?
AndreaB replied to nogluten77's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi and Welcome. There is a thread that a member TCA started about starting out. You could PM her and get the name of it...I forget it. To PM go to Control Panel, Compose New Message. Type in TCA and a topic then type your message and send it. Just ask her for the title of the thread she started for new people. -
ARCHIVED Celiac Disease Vs. Gluten Intolerance
AndreaB replied to billy's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I know this has already been mentioned but gluten intolerance and celiac are the pretty much the same thing. I consider gluten intolerance on one side of the line and celiac on the other side, differing degrees of other diseases and damage but still gluten free for life. If you have the funds and want more concrete evidence of your status I would recommend... -

Christina, What heavy metal exposure did you get? You mention a natural doctor...have you tried a holistic doctor or are they the same thing. I think both mainline and holistic doctors can be good or bad for you, although holistic doctors tend to look at the whole body and how to heal it. We are here for you whether you have a gluten intolerance... -
ARCHIVED Have Major Trouble With Legumes...

I'm allergic to soy, kidney and navy beans. Husband to pinto beans. Don't know about the others. -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something

We just got through day 1 of rice free for my daughter. She's been having tummy problems lately. She did better today so we'll see how the rest of the week plays out. -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something

I wouldn't mind adoption....it's just sooooo expensive. Of course my mom thinks I already have too many kids. Hubby and I have 3 and he has 5 from a previous marriage. My mother really thinks he has too many. Rinne, That olive oil thing really riles me as well. We are soy intolerant and I know I'm also allergic. No one else... -

What can we say. Come join us more often. I'm sure we'll hit 2000 soon, oh well the weekends coming though. I'll guess Monday unless people are super chatty tomorrow. It seems like Tues-Thur is the busiest time on this forum. -

Rachel, Well, that answered some questions and gave us some more didn't it. I second the thought that she should send some notes to the GI doctor. I'm in the middle of feeding Seth his dinner and getting dinner ready for the rest of us...I'll check back in a bit. -

ARCHIVED Anyone Had Trouble With Spouse Supporting?
AndreaB replied to aprilh's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
My husband has been very supportive of the diet changes we needed to make. He is the only one without active gluten intolerance although he has two genes that predispose to celiac. We got tested through enterolab (www.enterolab.com) so that's how we know. -
ARCHIVED Confused Newbie W/ Negative Diagnosis
AndreaB replied to bklynceliac's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I would also encourage you to use enterolab if you can scramble together the funds. We got tested (all the tests they offer) and found out we are intolerant to gluten and soy. It may take some time for your body to bounce back also, or it may be other allergies or intolerances. You may also want to consider allergy testing. I had allergy testing done... -

Donna, So I assume the doctor thinks everything is going ok? We haven't heard from Rachel yet...probably still at the doctors since they are always notorious about being behind. It's a real pain in the (backside) with three young kids and waiting and waiting and waiting. You get my point. -
ARCHIVED Son's Labs - What Does Hladq2 & Hladq8 Mean?
AndreaB replied to btm's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
From what I understand, those two genes are the ones that predispose to celiac disease. -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
AndreaB replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Lately, it's not safe to leave this thread. We all must be feeling better, we're getting more gabby. Donna, How'd it go. Any preliminary news yet? -
I too, wouldn't worry about anyone outside your household. Go gluten free as soon as you can. Don't want to go gluten free in they want to run more tests though. It sounds like everyone of the girls and yourself would definately benefit from the diet. We used enterolab, they are pricey though and I don't know that insurance covers it. We paid for it...
