  1. For a while I suspect my wife thought it was all in my head. She slowly figured it out. She likes to go to Bingo on Saturday and being the good husband, I always go with her. She noticed me getting up to go to the bathroom three and four times during a two and a half hour bingo session. When I went gluten-free she noticed that, like magic...
  2. It took me about a month to feel the full effects of a gluten-free diet, but then I'm Gluten Intolerant with Celiac not being confirmed. After 6 weeks, I can tell you that it's been worth it. I'm reminded of how worth it if I try to sneak a cookie, which I did, once. I understand your desire to KNOW it's the gluten before embarking on a gluten...
  3. After a week I felt substantially better. Like you, I would tend to only get D when eating significant amounts of Gluten. As time went on, I got more and more sensitive. I've been completely gluten-free for about 6 weeks now, after months and months of denial. I never did get a diagnosis, but I feel so much better. After 6 weeks I can go...
  4. Today I have already consumed two soft boiled eggs and a banana. For lunch I have planned some yogurt and perhaps a bag of popcorn. I have about a 6-8 mile run planned for today at lunch time. It's actually sunny here for a change, so that will really pick up my energy. I didn't run yesterday, so I might end up going 10 miles if my legs feel springy...
  5. Interesting data. I was just going off of what Dr. Fine at Enterolab said. Sounds like he doesn't know everything. I will stop taking it as fact that I don't have Celiac...I just don't know and likely never will.
  6. Yes thanks again for clearing ALL that up.
  7. I like this...I have it
  8. Thanks, they are my three lovely nieces....
  9. I seem to be too dense to figure it out!
  10. Wow I didn't know that..I'm impressed! Can you tell me why if we have the same genes, my brother is so much more homely than I? In all seriousness thanks for your comments. If you can think of anything else I should know about my particular HLA, I'd like to know. j

At least I spit out the cookies!! HE is the one eating THREE CHICKEN sandwiches and wondering why he's got the runs He is the odd one, I'm the normal good looking one
  12. So at first when I found out I was HLA-DQ 3,1 subtype 7,5 it was a relief because I KNEW I was not Celiac. However this last week I've been rethinking that. Just this week we've seen one 3,1 person have a positive diagnosis and another with a negative blood panel have a positive biopsy. Someone else posted that they think DQ 3,1 subtype 7,5 is almost...

    ARCHIVED The Bro...

Getting back to the whole brother thing...whether or not he is identical or semi-identical, I do not know I've decided simply mocking him may be the best tactic, esp. when he calls and complains about having stomach issues. I suppose I could also take pictures of my lovely stools and send them to him for comparison purposes. (sorry) He...
  14. Like I said last week, I've been feeling really well. I haven't had the runs in weeks and weeks. It's been so long since my stomach felt bad that the memory of it is fading...if you know what I mean. I start to think...hmmm...there's nothing wrong with me....I feel great......and so forth... So last night I'm sitting around...you know just wanting...

According to the article... Researchers discovered twins who are identical on their mom's side of the equation but share only half their genes from dad. Here's how it happened: Two sperm cells fertilized one egg
  16. Interesting. I took it as fact when I didn't have DQ2 or DQ8, that I didn't have the Celiac gene. I don't want to know bad enough to go back on Gluten and get a biopsy...but I am certainly interested, being another DQ 3,1 Subtype 7.... Just goes to show you how much we don't know...j

I'm reading on Yahoo today that Rare "Semi-Identical Twins" have been identified as another type of twin. This is a relief to me as I'm now sure my twin must be one of these as that would totally explain his odd behavior.

OK, so TODAY he tells me that the RUNS ARE ALWAYS WORSE on Monday. I said what did you eat this weekend?...He says oh I was good!.. Yesterday I had eggs...sausage...hash browns...TOAST.. Do you eat TOAST during the weekdays? "Er No..." Well ya dumb $hit, I can tell you why you feel worse on Monday!..... Then he says...."hey do you hurt every...

Yah, well I told my brother the ulcers around his behind might heal if he laid off the wheat.
  23. Hmmm, yet another great reason to be Gluten Free
  24. Just wanted to add that I think many "mental illnesses" may in fact be neurological disorders and that it's a bit illogical to classify them separately. The fact that the brain = the mind, makes separating the two illogical. I have a cousin who has schizophrenia...What caused that? By chance does the guy have a form of gluten intolerance that has manifested...
  25. Is your brain not composed of neurons that can be damaged? In my mind "brain damage" could definitely be caused by gluten and it is absolutely a neurological problem. Unless of course I'm missing something. Yes they are mental symptoms...potentially caused by neurological damage.
