I will have to check the ice cream that DW bought for me and make sure. She is usually better at reading labels than most but we all have a "brain fart" from...
  3. It never hurts to repost. There are new members here every day, threads like this can get buried and hard to find. It is someetimes helpful to remind people of information from time to time as well.
  4. I also use it with no problems.
  5. Almost anything by TYLENOL is gluten free. Their cold medication is for sure.
  6. I just want to add my name to the list of people who are continuing every day to pray for you all. I have been following here and on caringbridge, and am amazed at what all the prayers have accomplished through the skill and dedication of all the doctors. I continue to pray for strength and emational endurace for you all, and a speedy recovery for Megan...
  7. Some people seem to tolerate lactose a bit less after going gluten free, but in most instances, they are able to tolerate it again over time, after heling begins to take place.

    ARCHIVED Can I Cheat?

Seach for "newbie kit" on this site, and there are some great resources out there in internet land. If there is a decent dietician in your area, you can check with them, or try calling the local hospital and see if their dietry planners have any information etc. Gkad we could be of help.

    ARCHIVED Can I Cheat?

I suppose I should add one more voiceof concern here. Cheating on the diet is PURPOSELY hurting yourself. I like the alcohol example. They CAN not drink because of the mental/physical problems it can cause. We can not eat gluten because of the physical damage it can do to our bodies. Granted our bodies will heal, but it maytake longer and longer every...
  10. NO RuneScape please...when our son goes on that site, it freezes all what ever computer he is on. I hate that site. But I suppose our PGFCF ( ) would not do that if it were made into a computer game. Picard, I agree about the playing thing. Our son will sit in front of his video games all day if we let him. However, once we can get him outside...
  11. Welcome, I've been gluten free for about 2 months now, also with no official dx. The dietary response has been amazing, and I am feeling SO much better If the diet challenge produces results, and you begin to improve, and if your Dr. is forward thinking as you say, then things will be fine. Again, welcome to the boards.
  12. I would say gluten except for the weak muscles thing. I agree with Ursula, it sounds more like food poisoning than anything. Hope you are feeling better this morning.
  13. Lots to catch up on. Vinecnt -- appranetly, we make up words in Rachelville all the time, so I guess we are not too worried about spelling. Here is the updat on our son -- DW and I are not all evil like he says...we had an hour long meeting with his psychologist today, and when she double checked her math, he is on TOO SMALL a dosage for his...
  14. OKay...still back on page 217, but will read fast. Update....son came home last night from hoildays, and we are ready to send him back already. Huge fight here, and ended up taking him to talk to his psychiatrist at midnight to see if it was his meds makin ghim goofy. IT's not....puberty and ADHD do NOT go well together. OTher than that, things...
  15. 16. Maltodestrin as far as I know is gluten-free in North America. I googled it once, and discovered it was made from corn.
  17. Chelsea, My dw has that all the time with her hair "thingies" I think it is just from having your hair in a pony-tail all day and then they get stuck in the elastic and pulled out, that and the thick hair does not help. Our daughter inherited fine hair and she does not have that much of a problem. Thought that might help. Just found out our...
  18. No...we have the ever over-tasked Geese and Dingos!
  19. Wow...that was a lot for one night to cathc up on. Good thing I took the day off from work! Just finished cleaning off the outsideof the house, and was wondering if we could outlaw spiders in R-Ville somehow. There were dozens of webs out on the siding, and now none. Anyway, I may have to go lay down...am not feeling so well today. Robbin...
  20. I would have to agree whole heartedly with every one. We have a two year old as well, and although she has not yet been tested, we have her on the gluten free diest as well (I am celiac) and have told her the truth from day one. We tell her WHY daddy can't eat certain foods and she just accepts it. Perhaps later she will question why but for now.. ...
  21. Don't they use apples to STOP d? How does that kepe them working? Susan -- I hear you about the dog thing. We have a Chow and she is driving me NUTS!! It's 95 here. Also, Canukistan is slang for Canada. There are a few of us that slipped in here from what I can see. Which brings me to Cecile -- I can pronounce your name as we have two...

  23. OKay..I need to rant here, then start another warning thread about this. I just was reeading my box of Almond Nut Thins (this goes back to alst night). There is a logo on the front that declares them a "proud sponsor to the Celiac Foundation". However, on the ingredient list in bog bold letters...Warning, produced on a line that also produces products...
  24. Welcome to the boards Alex, First off, if you doubt all the new blood work, you should have it checked again. Were you off gluten when you had the scope done? If so they results could have been negative. I am still new to the whoel celiac thing myself, but I have found thepeople on this forum to be among the most helpful, friendly people there...
  25. Vincent, Migranes are caused by the constriction of blood the arteries on you skull. This lack of blood and o2 is what causes the auras and tinitis (ringing in teh ears). Then once the body reacts to this, and the bloose vessels begin to dialate again, the blood rushing back into your head is finally what causes all the pain and suffering. There is more...
