  1. 47 Seems like a lot of older folk and a couple young'ns so far.
  2. Just curious about the average age of the c.com users.

  4. 67 today. no rain. think I'll pressure wash the front concrete. maybe water the garden.
  5. Not really humid. Winters are usually in the 40's. A few days/nights below freezing, but it's rare. Lot's of rain in the winter/spring, less in the summer/autumn. A couple days ago we had a hard rainstorm and I just read that our 0.7 inch broke records for that day.
  6. It's been a fab summer so far. I think we broke 80 today!
  7. I don't have a stand mixer, but I just bought a bread machine at a rummage sale. It's an old Oster, has no gluten-free setting. I also have a bunch of Pamela's bread mixes. The machine does 1, and 1+1/2 pound loaves, Pamela's is for 2 pound loaves. I measure out half the mix at a time and it works just fine. I like the smaller loaves because I just don...

  9. He's an eat-anything kind of guy, although he eats mainly gluten-free with me. He's also 6'2", so he made the "gluten shelf" on top of the cabinets where I couldn't possibly get into his stuff. The boat motor is inboard, so the exhaust is wrapped in heat tape to minimize the heat escape into the cabin. He had to tear apart the bed to get at it, and...
  10. And for dinner, we're heading off to the store to get ice cream.
  11. Tired. The pirate is living here this week. His exhaust sprung a leak and he rebuilt it from parts from Home Depot. Just waiting on the heat tape. While here, he's cut up most of my scrap wood and is burning it in the Weber with no legs.
  12. Second question was, do you need to be that careful? But it sounds like you do. All plastics? Or just some? Corn starch too? Or just the protein?
  13. First question, why are you avoiding corn?
  14. Corn alone does not cause a Celiac reaction. Someone with a damaged intestine might react to anything. Corn is high on that 'anything' list, as is soy. casein, and some other things. If you read the posts on this site, you'll find that someone who mentions not feeling well after months of gluten-free gets two main types of advice: 1) check all your products...
  15. I still disagree. You are responsible for your own health, and 50 disclaimers on a product only means that no one will read any of the disclaimers. If you choose to live your life expecting people to take care of you, that is certainly your right, but don't expect everyone to agree with you. Isn't the GFS the one set up by one guy who wants you to buy...
  16. Since anyone can react to anything, a disclaimer is really pointless. If you react to a particular food, it's up to you to read the ingredients. Why choose corn as your target annoying food, when there are so many?
  17. or soy or milk or nightshades or salicylates or any number of other things that end up bothering someone who has a messed up digestive system. Look around, this is pretty common on this forum.
  18. I would interpret this as: "showing some initial, overall inflammation, but not yet severe enough to point to one specific cause. Are you gluten-free? How do you feel?
  19. I would scrub the crap out of it, look into getting a new tray, and use the foil until you get a new tray. There really shouldn't be any transfer of proteins in the smoke if you've cleaned the whole thing well.
  20. Are you in Canada? The US ingredients are: Milled corn, sugar, soluble corn fiber, molasses, contains 2% or less of salt, soybean oil, partially hydrogenated vegetable oil (coconut, soybean and/or cottonseed), mono- and diglycerides, wheat starch, annatto color, BHT for freshness. 21. Run Barty!!
  22. I found a recent allergen menu from Chili's, and the queso isn't under the gluten-free section (that I could see). Open Original Shared Link
