    My eggs are sitting on pine shavings. I only wash them if it's been a while since I cleaned the coop, and the eggs are also siting on poop.

    Just to use this as an example. I know nothing about dh. If this were something I wanted to look up, I'd have no idea where to start. It would be nice if this statement came with a source, even if it were something like "we had an informal poll on the board and..." Actually, it is a pretty interesting statement.     If what you present is opinion, then it's opinion. If you present something as fact, then we ask that you back it up. We don't expect people to present science papers, unless they are comfortable with that. All you have to tell us is where you got the information you are presenting, so anyone with an interest can go and research it for himself.

    In a previous thread I saw that some schools advocate hand sanitizer without hand washing. Sanitizer will not remove gluten, so it increases the chance of cc on toys and tables.

    I didn't check out Steph's chicken links, so she may have covered this, but you could also look around for local egg producers who cull their chickens periodically. Maybe find one who's practices you approve of and buy chicken from them.

    Interesting. I know when I've eaten something I shouldn't my body holds on to a lot of water. Maybe the coffee was counteracting that for you, and when you changed your diet, your body didn't need the help any more?
