    ARCHIVED What's Allowed?

Welcome, and really I don't have a clue but I would think that if you would like to advertise your product you should contact Scott, it is his board.
  2. No, MSG is not gluten. MSG stimulates the brain so that the food tastes good to you, it allow manufacturers to use cheap ingredients. It causes many problems for up to 40% of the population, is in most processed food and is called other names like hydrolyzed vegetable protein. It was one of the first sensitivities I noticed, I would get headaches...
  3. I think you are very fortunate that your new neighbour has Celiac and is a doctor. I also think you should talk to your parents about seeing a new doctor. And welcome, this is a great place for questions and remember there are no dumb questions.
  4. Is corn a problem for you? A lot of Vitamin C is derived from corn although I would think if it says no allergens it should be corn free. It might be worth checking out. I had a funny conversation with someone at a health food store yesterday when I told her I was looking for Vitamin C without corn she assured me that a particular brand didn't have...
  5. Nice to see you back or have you been lurking along the whole time?
  6. I have or have had many of your symptoms and going gluten and dairy free has improved my life by 50%, I've been gluten free for five months now, it has also made it clear to me that I have other problems. I am looking at Lyme Disease which may also manifest with the same symptoms, have you heard of Lyme? A gluten free diet may be used as a diagnostic...
  7. Excuse me, did someone say blog? I think perhaps they've lost their way, this is no mere blog, this is Rachelville. Our official greeter seems to be absent and our president is taking a well deserved rest after so brilliantly articulating the hearts of many of us so just let me say that everyone is welcome here as long as they promise to leave...
  8. Hi, I'm sorry your girlfriend is so ill. I think it is great that you are trying to help her. I can't help you with the information about testing but I am wondering if she has tried a gluten free diet, it is considered a diagnostic tool, also has she ever tried going dairy free?
  9. Andrea, yes I am in Canada but I was in southeastern Colorado nearly four years ago when I had the rash from a tick bite, it was after that that my health started to really go downhill. I also remember a bite/rash in California twenty years ago and have recently learned that my home town is a hot spot for Lyme. My mother has all my symptoms and more as...
  10. Open Original Shared Link Found this site which looks interesting and may be of some help.
  11. I love this thread, it is extraordinary in its' ability to create community for those who want it. I grew up with a mother who was ill, for nearly forty years doctors have been telling her they can't find anything wrong, she has had nearly every possible test and they have never found the cause. She went through years of being treated as if she was...
  12. Open Original Shared Link Prepare to be utterly overwhelmed by that site which is just links to other sites., including: Links common to Lyme disease misdiagnosed as other diseases/conditions Lyme Disease Misdiagnosed as Alzheimer's disease (AD) alt Lyme Disease Misdiagnosed as Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) alt Lyme Disease Misdiagnosed...
  13. I know that on the Lyme boards Igenex is the lab that is trusted, my impression is that it has been the lab of last resort for many people with Lyme and through Igenex they tested positive. There was some kind of challenge made of Igenex and their credibility because they had so many positives and when they did a double blind study Igenex came out at the...
  14. Personally I am of the evolution school, I am continually astonished by how helpful this thread is to me. I have learned so many things here, one that comes to mind is the problems with our earings, a shared reaction many of us have to being glutened. Who would have thought and who would have created a whole thread to discuss it and yet here it arose naturally...
  15. And this is the place I come to feel NORMAL, what does that say?
  16. Call me suspicious but I see a plot, after all how could anyone not sympathize with your need for nuggets once your hair was green. Fess up, it's all about the nuggets, isn't it?
  17. Lauren, best friend , I think the ricepaper wraps have potential for baklava. This is what I did, I brushed the dry rice wraps with melted ghee (I can't have butter), layered toasted walnuts in between the layers, and then baked it in a 350 degree oven for about 20 minutes. As soon as I took it out I poured hot maple syrup over it all so that the syrup...
  18. Do you know where your Vitamin B 12 count is at? The range they allow as normal is between about 170 and 770, mine were at 226 and that was so low that I needed an injection. My understanding is that when they get very low an injection is needed as just taking supplements won't bring your levels up quickly enough. Do you have other symptoms?
  19. Mr.Depp is definitely swoon material. I can see why she might not tell her husband. The first movie that I thought of was Fifty First Dates, I love that movie. Has anyone seen it?
  20. I've tried them and they are pretty good, especially given that they are low in fat.
  21. Have you ever tried a gluten free diet?
  22. EEK! I'm laughing at me. Mispost.
  23. What a wonderful quote, it makes me feel like a spring chicken. Celia you reminded me of a Leonard Cohen line that goes, "here's to the few who forgive what you do and the fewer who don't even care".
  24. That leaves me out.
