Do you have any other symptoms which don't appear to be related to intestinal issues? And I'm sorry to hear that you are having such a difficult time.

ARCHIVED How Do I Decide Which Diagnosis To Pursue?
rinne replied to mythreesuns's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Hi. Lyme can manifest in the digestion. I have heard that the testing for Lyme is as unreliable as the testing for Celiac, the Lyme board folks speak about IGeneX, a lab in Palo Alto, and the importance of the Western Blot as a diagnostic tool for late term Lyme. I have been using the Salt?Vitamin C treatment used for Lyme as a diagnostic tool,... -
ARCHIVED In Need Of A gluten-free Laxative
rinne replied to sparkles's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I found that going gluten free was not the answer to my C but that going gluten and dairy free was. While I was C I tried Metamucil but found it was like swallowing broken glass, I had an incredible feeling of irritation in the stomach lining and colon. I also used an herbal laxitive tea which worked but then I would just get C again. I've never tried... -
ARCHIVED Celiac's Or Undiagnosed Lyme? Candida? Both?
rinne replied to tailz's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Open Original Shared Link Ravenwoodglass I am glad that all of your symptoms have resolved on a gluten free diet. I found it interesting that all of the conditions you have listed overlap with problems that people with Lyme also have. I am clear that gluten is a problem for me and has been for a very long time, I am also clear that going... -

ARCHIVED On gluten-free Diet But No Improvement
rinne replied to a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I am wondering what your son's symptoms are and if any in particular are getting worse. Two weeks is a pretty short time but the gluten intolerance could be a secondary problem not the primary. -
ARCHIVED Boils
rinne replied to hannahsue01's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
In my thirties I tended to get boils and found that if at the the very first sign, the slightest redness and swelling, I took at lot of garlic oil capsules they would recede and go away. I'm thinking I might have taken 6 or 8 a day but I don't remember. -
I have heard that the Elisa test is not reliable and that the test to have is the Western Blot done through a lab in Palo Alto called IGeneX. I am currently using the Salt/Vitamin C treatment for Lyme as a diagnostic tool, if you want more information PM me. Lyme often affects the eyes, also many people find that most of their symptoms are on the left...

Although Metamucil may be gluten free it causes me pain. -
ARCHIVED Is Colgate Toothpaste Gluten-free?
rinne replied to tailz's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Some people are sensitive to floride, which is in most drinking water and some toothpaste. -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free Food Prices...
rinne replied to diagnosed5yrsago's topic in Publications & Publicity
I've always loved food, good food prepared simply and my taste buds tell me that organic is better so I have been willing to pay more. The prepared gluten free stuff tastes just as bad to me as the prepared regular stuff so I don't buy it. I sympathize with your desire for convenience foods and frustration with the prices but you might take this as... -

ARCHIVED Aaaaaaaaarrrrrrggggghhhh!
rinne replied to I'dratherbecycling's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Someone told me they could use a "touch of what I have" so they could look so good. I think what I find most frustrating about that kind of statement is that it is clear they really don't get that I am sick. I am in pain, I don't want to be invited to a dinner I can't eat and I don't want ten minute descriptions of a pasta dish from a a restaurant I ate... -

Donna, I am so glad you are feeling a little better. Patti, it is a treatment used for Lyme disease. I am looking at Lyme disease as a possible underlying cause for what I am beginning to see as a systemic breakdown over a period of many years. I have had a rash, I have lived in a remote location in Colorado where two good friends have been... -

ARCHIVED Beets, Pink Urine And Celiac Connection?
rinne replied to Jennas-auntie's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Me too, I thought it was normal for people to have pink pee (doesn't that sound cute) but come to think of it I don't remember my pee being pink prior to the last ten years and that is when my digestive issues really started hitting me. And actually I remember the first time I saw it and freaked out for a moment until I remembered the beets but at the time... -
ARCHIVED Doctor Says I'm Nuts!
rinne replied to hannahsue01's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Trust yourself. The advice given above is solid and I won't repeat it but I would just like to say I am sorry that that doctor was such an idiot. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have a doctor say, "I don't know what is causing your pain but I will refer you to someone who may be able to help you". My mother, who has been sick for nearly 30 years, saw... -

I suspected "The Dave" had a lot of cuteness in him. Ryan, some great advice and I am seriously impressed that you would ask for it. My sweetie and I spent the better part of five years apart and it was difficult but we had been together for 15 years and that made it easier. We made a regular talking date every five days to catch up and saw eachother...

You could try that. I went dairy free, almost, after a month of being gluten free because it was clear that dairy was giving me a problem, in my case bloating, C and irritability. I have eaten it a few times since then thinking MAYBE it has been long enough and I have found out every time that it is a no. I find it funny to say but I don't really miss...

Julie, that is wonderful news. I am so happy for you. I'm sorry you have been feeling so ill, how are you today? Have you tried gargling with sea salt? I have slept for about seven hours the past two nights and when I have woken I have felt refreshed. I don't even know how to express how absolutely amazing this is to me... -
ARCHIVED Why Are So Many Of Us Still Not Feeling Well?
rinne replied to CantEvenEatRice's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi Barb, sorry to hear what a struggle things are right now. I completely related to your "ornery" comment, my sweetie has put up with my bad temper too. I can tell you that gluten free I am a different woman, that my constant irritability and sudden rages have diminished 90%. Actually make that gluten and dairy free because I think dairy has something... -
Thanks for the information on the licorice tea. I've been drinking it for my stomach pain, it is very good if you feel like your stomach is on fire. I buy the twigs at the health food store and simmer them for 10 minutes. I look forward to updates as to how you are doing.
