ARCHIVED Dr. Wakefield Trial (mmr/autism Possible Link)
rinne replied to AndreaB's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Is it? Or is it the media witch trial they are putting him through? Could it be pharmaceutical companies wanting to shut up anyone who raises any concerns? Off topic slightly, ten years ago a doctor in Nova Scotia raised concerns about a drug being used for type 2 diabetics, she was seeing heart problems. She knew other doctors who were also seeing... -
ARCHIVED Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD)
rinne replied to AliB's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Smart. I'm sorry there are still problems. I am seeing improvements, not as fast as I would like, but the fact that there are improvements gives me hope. Check out CROHNSBOY.com for information about not only the SCD but other strategies for healing. I talked to Jay yesterday and in describing my symptoms to me he said it sounded very... -
ARCHIVED Dr. Wakefield Trial (mmr/autism Possible Link)

Don't apologize Fiddle Faddle, I that post. As for anecdotal evidence, what a convenient term for those who determine the dialogue to dismiss the concerns of parents who are dealing not with "anecdotal evidence" but with a child that has been damaged. The reality is you only have to see it happen to one child to know the truth of it. I think Lyme... -
ARCHIVED Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD)

Hi. I was just talking with someone today about wild oregano and he emphasized the importance of taking probiotics if you are taking the oregano, the oregano will kill good and bad bacteria and the probiotics are needed to repopulate the good bacteria. He recommended a book by Jeanie Patel called "Listen to Your Gut". Apparently it is very important... -

ARCHIVED So Many Problems, Yet No Doctor Will Listen!

If you haven't, please do some googling on the risks of surgery when using beta blockers, I think the doctor who keeps blowing you off is an idiot, but then you know that. -
ARCHIVED Potential Cure Getting Closer?
rinne replied to Ryan T's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thank you Takala, an excellent statement! This topic seems to be coming up more often, I am pretty sure there have been other threads on this although not this particular egg. I read something recently about Open Original Shared Link selling for $350,000,000.00. I couldn't find the link for that but you can hit the bolded section for more information... -
ARCHIVED Potential Cure Getting Closer?
rinne replied to Ryan T's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
What if gluten is just poison to everyone? What if diabetes, arthritis, fibro, crohn's, ulcerative colitis, autism, not forgetting celiac, all responded positively to a gluten free diet? Would anyone like to add to this list? I'm also thinking anxiety disorders, neurological problems, depression..... I have no desire to ever eat gluten again and... -
ARCHIVED Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD)

Thanks Ali. The "perfect poop" I have read that this is when you have your poop emerge in one long stool which has bulk to it, I'm not talking something that looks like toothpaste, not lumps, not watery, not mucousy.... This will occur after you feel the urge to poop and not require any great effort. -

ARCHIVED Looking For Help/guidance
rinne replied to kruczkowski's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi. Some of your symptoms may be related to vitamin and mineral deficiencies, particularly B vitamins. If your GP has not done blood work to check this out, then he/she doesn't know much about Celiac. -
ARCHIVED Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD)
rinne replied to AliB's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Hi. C was always my issue, a week into the diet it stopped being an issue as long as I eat what my body is capable of eating at this point in my healing, when I included cheese it was too much and the C returned but nothing like it was in the past. It was a revelation for me, I am in my fifties, have taken laxatives more often than I thought good... -

ARCHIVED Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD)
rinne replied to AliB's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Open Original Shared Link As to what comes first I think this may be the chicken and egg question. Many people have H.pylori in their gut but don't get ulcers, is it possible stress and anxiety brought on by a diet that is toxic to us then triggers the H.pylori which then leads to a shortage of serotonin and so goes the circle. Just thinking about... -

ARCHIVED They Want To Do The Biopsy
rinne replied to newburyport's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi. My blood work was negative but, like you, I had been gluten free and I decided against the endoscopy because I was unwilling to go back to eating gluten. Dietary response is a legitimate tool for diagnosis and it sounds like you have had a wonderful response to going gluten free. I also have some problem with the reality being that what they... -
ARCHIVED New To Site, Many Unexplained Symptoms
rinne replied to IndyKim's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi. What a long list, it rivals my own long list or I should say the list I had at one point. What I would suggest is a very simple diet for three days, unprocessed foods prepared without condiments, basically a gluten and dairy free diet, no sugar or chocolate, avoid too much fruit, eat lots of carrots cooked well, chicken, ripe bananas. ... -
ARCHIVED Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD)

I know some are making yogurt with coconut milk, I think the trick is to find coconut milk without any preservatives. The result is apparently more like kefir in thickness, now I am inspired so I am going to try and make some. The other thing is to make sure the starter, and I have heard of people using the capsules although what amounts I don't know... -
ARCHIVED Should I Go For More Testing?
rinne replied to GabbyMax's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I'm sorry to hear that your children have issues too. The reality is they don't just go away by themselves, in fact if we continue to consume those foods we set ourselves up for a cascade of illness. If you have some time read some of the signatures on this board, you will see people sick for 10 years with a variety of issues before being diagnosed Celiac... -
ARCHIVED Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD)
rinne replied to AliB's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I can attest to mood changes with dairy, I feel mean and bitter. I know I overdid the dairy when I first started the SCD but even a little is too much for me at this point, the goat milk yogurt I seem to tolerate better. I am hoping to get some non-dairy yogurt starter so that my goat milk yogurt won't have any cow milk in it. -
ARCHIVED So Upset. Is This Celiac?
rinne replied to leethinker's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I tested negative but I have a sister and brother both diagnosed by endoscopy, I had also been gluten free when they did that test, that combined with my symptoms was enough to convince me to go gluten free regardless of a diagnosis. -
ARCHIVED Should I Go For More Testing?
rinne replied to GabbyMax's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi. Testing for Celiac is notoriously unreliable, you may not have it but clearly you have a problem which is helped by the gluten free diet, why not stick with the diet for a while and see how it goes? You can always do a gluten challenge later, in the meantime you can give your body a well needed period of healing. Some may disagree with me...
