  1. I'm sorry to hear that your daughter isn't seeing any improvement. If you could provide more information it would be helpful in making suggestions. How long has she been sick? How old is she? Is she on any medications? How was she diagnosed? What is her diet? Does anyone else in your family have digestion issues or fibro...
  2. Your menu sounds delicious. This is very simple but I haven't made it with regular plain yogurt only my SCD yogurt which I dripped to make a little thicker, have you ever done that? I'm thinking it would go well with the rest of your menu. Frozen Lemon Yogurt 1 cup yogurt, as thick as good sour cream 1/3 cup lemon juice zest from the lemon...
  3. H! No eye stuff, just one last diet, diet, diet. What you put in yourself has the power to change you. Warm regards, Rinne
  4. I chose not to have an endoscopy, like you I have a sister diagnosed with celiac, and I didn't see the need for invasive testing. I also have two gluten free brothers, one diagnosed and the other not. I think it is important to understand that what they are looking for is damage and so the importance in continuing to eat it is to ensure there is the...
  5. Were you experiencing digestive distress prior to going gluten free? If you weren't then I would think maybe not but if you were then I would think yes. I know there is a standard like 2 pieces of bread for a certain number of days but I am not sure what, someone will know. I opted not to have the endoscopy.
  6. I don't know about Brandon but there is one in Winnipeg, I don't have a link but if you google "Celiac support Winnipeg" it will come up. They have an information package with lots of good information in it. I agree, you need help. Bran muffin , not a good idea. This is a great site, lots of support. Many find a simple diet of unprocessed...
  7. What I understood was that the increase of lymphocytes indicates your body is responding to something as a toxin, this is typical of celiac disease. Our body, perceiving an attack by a poison, creates mucous to protect our gut but that mucous then damages our gut, voila the auto-immune disorder. I think it is critical to really listen to what our...

    ARCHIVED Pain.

I don't have a clue what CCK is, do you know and I wonder what that something else was? I suppose at this point it really doesn't matter so much, what matters now is feeling better. I just seriously question the tests they give us when we are sick, when I was going to have the C.T. scan I read up on the iodine mixture they give people to drink and...
  10. Open Original Shared Link It appears to me that you do have Celiac although I understand that damage to the villi may be caused by other things. Did I understand you correctly to say that you have had blood tests every week for 8 -9 months showing positive for Celiac? And hello and welcome.
  11. Wow, I come from a family of seven children and can relate to that being a huge thing to deal with! You will figure it out. This is a great site, lots of support and information. The great news is that you are young and finding out now you will prevent so much more damage to your health, in the end the inconvenience is minor to having your...
  12. I asked just because it is so much harder when someone has been ill for a long time. Her symptoms sound a little like mine at the worst point, burning from my sternum throughout my whole digestive tract, I felt like I had swallowed shattered glass, and intense pain. I lost a lot of weight very quickly, no appetite and constant nausea. I found a simple...
  13. What a great post. Well worth reading again.
  14. Mr.Moore I am glad that you are feeling better. I don't know whether your body would respond that quickly but then I don't know a lot about mercury removal other than you should have someone helping you with it. I thought that dentists that specialized in mercury removal had a procedure, no? As I have said before, finding our true health may...
  15. Hi. Sorry to hear your mother is not feeling well. Is there any possibility of cross contamination? Does she have a new cutting board, wooden spoons, toaster, sieve.....shampoos, creams....? Medications, vitamins? What is her diet like now? Was she very ill before her diagnosis? Does she have any other health problems? So...
  16. Hi. I'm no doctor but an endoscopy is considered the gold stand for diagnosis by doctors because they can see the damage. Blood work may be iffy in terms of getting a positive diagnosis. Are you in shock? Are you okay?
  17. I would say UNBELIEVABLE but sadly it is just too believable. This experience on top of other negative experiences with conventional medicine has left me with little trust in that system but great trust in myself and others who know first hand what it is like to be ill. I take that as a positive.
  18. My sister was diagnosed with IBS about 15 years ago and then about 8 years ago she was diagnosed with Celiac. The doctor told her that she should avoid wheat, nothing about gluten, she continued to eat rye bread and so she never saw any improvement in her symptoms. This is how stupid we are as a society, because it had to do with poop it was never discussed...
  19. I would take it as a diagnosis but then I don't like tests. As Laura said you could ask for an endoscopy but since your doctor was conclusive in his/her diagnosis perhaps just discussing it would be a good start. On the other hand, an endoscopy may provide a picture of the damage that is done, but for you to have one you would have to continue to eat...
  20. Hi. Well that "lil tired" may change into other symptoms that are not so minor before any kind of treatment arrives. I spent years foolishly using that tiredness to guarantee a nap, a couple of pieces of toast and I was asleep. One day I crossed a line that I didn't know existed and now any gluten at all makes me very ill. I mean any as...
  21. I feel better if I go with protein early in the day so it is often eggs scrambled, sometimes with onions and greens like arugala or spinach and a glass of plain tomato juice or I might take two eggs, 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup almond flour, and a little salt, to make a simple pancake that I eat with blueberries, somedays I add a little honey but generally...
  22. In my experience keeping it simple works best and like you I do better if I eat just one or two ingredients at a time. Actually, eating less generally seems to work best for me but I love to eat and I am not always disciplined about eating less. I do stay within the SCD parameters though. I know that sometimes when I have been in constant pain for...

    ARCHIVED Pain.

Hi, and welcome. I'm sorry you are in so much pain right now, I spent some time flat on my back with pain also. I have used castor oil packs and also ice packs for pain, I have found them both helpful at different times. I hope you can get some relief soon, when I was most afraid of eating I looked to an ulcer diet, very gentle food, no peels...
  24. Hi. I won't repeat what IChaseFrisbees said as it was said so well. I took me over two years on a gluten and dairy free diet before I acknowledged that I don't do well with any grains/carbs. I too have found some success with the SCD. I went for acupuncture twice a week for about a year. I did find it helpful but knowing what I know now...
