ARCHIVED I'm Feeling Discouraged

I hope the chocolate chip therapy helped. Sorry about the waiting and not hearing, so rude of employers, I hope you find a job that you enjoy soon. -
ARCHIVED I'm Not Sure If I Have Celiac. Please Help!
rinne replied to loxleynew's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Regarding the biopsies you have had, for Celiac disease they use the Marsh Scale which shows four stages of destruction of the villi, I have read that the evidence of the destruction is visible at the third stage, by the fourth stage the villi may never heal. Your doctor has given you good advice. I spent years knowing that wheat was a problem... -

Thanks for the link and I am delighted you enjoyed the beets, I hope they agree with you. I find that including them is helping with my digestion. Was it on this thread that someone was talking about the burp test with baking soda? I can't remember where I read it but I tried it and didn't burp, if anyone knows what that means please let me know. -
ARCHIVED New And Clueless

In my experience it is wise to check for the possible down side of any invasive testing, making an informed choice that balances risks with benefits is smart but that's just my opinion. This is a great board with lots of resources. Welcome. -

Vitamin B deficiencies could account for some of your symptoms. What kind of doctor did you see?

ARCHIVED Biopsy Or Not
rinne replied to farmer's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
So can testing: Open Original Shared Link "One study performed across 36 UK hospitals found that 1 in 2000 patients died within 30 days of undergoing endoscopy. One-third of these deaths were due to complications of sedation. In addition, there were 20 perforations in 774 procedures, eight of which were fatal, giving a death rate of nearly 1 in 100... -
ARCHIVED Test Negative, Diet Results Positive, What To Do?
rinne replied to abbysmom's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Hi and welcome. Trust yourself and find a doctor that recognizes dietary changes as a diagnostic tool for your child just as you did for yourself. I don't have a "official" diagnosis myself but I do have a sister and brother with the "gold standard" biopsy. In my opinion this "gold standard" is just another example of the brutality of our medical... -
ARCHIVED Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD)
rinne replied to AliB's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Hi and welcome. I would say that I spent a good thirty some years afraid of food because I knew that certain foods triggered ravenous hunger and a full brain stop to any intelligent restraint on my part. I knew wheat and sugar were the two main problems and generally avoided them but when I did eat a piece of toast, it was generally followed by more... -
ARCHIVED You May Already Know About The Mercury In Fillings...
rinne replied to mr. moore's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Candida overgrowth may be related to antibiotics, have you been on them very often? Please don't take my opinion that your white tongue is candida as the absolute truth, I am no doctor and perhaps there are other causes that I don't know about but as I said a healthy tongue is pink and clean looking. Have you looked at the side effects to Ritalin? -
Sorry you aren't feelings so well. I would suggest mint or ginger tea, both are good for settling the stomach. As for food, I would probably eat a banana, I've always found them pretty gentle on my system. I hope you feel better soon, it does sound like it might be the flu.

ARCHIVED You May Already Know About The Mercury In Fillings...
rinne replied to mr. moore's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I think it is important to remember that there are some things we can have control of; some things it will take time for us to have control of and somethings we may never get control of. Diet is a strategy that allows you to have some immediate control of what is affecting you and even if mercury is a major problem the diet will help you to begin detoxing... -

Hi, the recipe I gave would fit the gluten-free diet and that is what I would suggest you do first, just follow the gluten free diet, for many people that works and it has more variety than the SCD. I love the SCD but I only chose it after two years of following a strict gluten free diet and still suffering. What are you eating? Thanks for posting... -

I am glad to know you are continuing to investigate. I think it would be great if you could get your Mom on side with your diet, if she has health issues she may see a real improvement. As for the tongue, no white is not healthy and normal, white indicates candida as I understand it. A healthy person's tongue is pink and clean looking, no white... -

The nomato sauce sounds interesting, what else is in it besides carrots and beets? -

When I was very ill I had a distinctive metal taste in my mouth and my tongue was coated and gross, what is your tongue like? Our tongues can tell us a lot about our bodies. I have four fillings so not a mouthful of metal but I haven't had them out, instead I have worked on my diet as a way to detox and I no longer have the metal taste and my tongue... -
ARCHIVED Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD)

I've been finely grating fresh beets and adding apple cider vinegar, it is suppose to help the digestion of those who are bile challenged and it does seem to help my digestion, it also tastes great! -
ARCHIVED Negative Biopsy. Very Confused!
rinne replied to pah77's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
As I understand it, the Marsh Scale is how they read the biopsy and according to it there are four stages to the destruction of the villi, they see the damage at the third stage but once you hit the fourth stage you may never heal. It baffles me that they consider it the gold seal for testing when it is obvious that you can be sick and tested during the... -

Happy New Year's to all, wishing you peace and joy. -
Sorry to hear you are having such a rough day, sounds like some sleep and t.l.c would go a long way to make you feel better. I hope you can get some. It always amazes me that people will flat out refuse to change their diets even when they are suffering but that's the reality. My entire family has issues and there are seven children! Two of my...

ARCHIVED Laughed At When Talking About Food And Asparmate!
rinne replied to mr. moore's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Everyone is different, 2% could be nothing to some and a lot for another, you have to study your own body's reactions and decide for yourself. Personally, I avoid all additives, I cook my food from scratch. I would look for organic soups. Take this as a matrix moment, you are not crazy, drug companies have no interest in our health only their profit... -
