Do you have recommendations for gluten free/ grain free products and recipe books, especially for baking? Now that I'm gluten-free, I've discovered that I can't do too many grains of any kind. That really limits my options, as most gluten-free mixes and pre-made things use corn, rice, etc. I've had to eliminate corn completely, I'm working on eliminating soy, and I can't eat too much rice or other carbs. My husband bought me a bread maker, just so I can make gluten-free bread, but now I can't eat very much of that because of the other carbs in it :-/

I have the very same issue. I find I can tolerate rice flours but not when they are mixed with any time of corn or sorghum ... Coconut and almond flours are the go to choice for me.  There is a site called Against All Grain, and she does great recipes.  Even breads. 100% grain free.

I have also found that JUST rice in the flour works alright for me. No added corn or sorghum flours etc.. Tinkyada pasta is 100% rice only and it is the ONLY one I can tolerate. Mix rice with anything else and I get sick. Every time :(

I second both of the above. I have made a few recipes from each site and they've turned out well. Both ladies also have cookbooks out.

Thank you so much ladies for this information, I have been looking for grain free recipes.  I am not very good with the web. as yet so I found it hard to search and find such sites as Elanaspantry, I love it.  Will be using this site often.

And for days when you don't feel like cooking, if you can have dairy, look for these: Open Original Shared Link

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?
    • mishyj
Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
