Alcohol And Black Puke?

A few years ago I drank to much and blacked out...the people taking care of me said I kept puking up black tar like stuff...I just remembered it and looked it up thinking it would mean alcohol poisoning..but all I found was GI related things that talked about puking up blood!.. Could this be an early symptom of gluten intolerance?? Or does this just happen when you drink way too much?

Just a random question, but I was just curious what you all think..

I also found that after awhile I would still feel sober when drinking..maybe that has to do with gluten intolerance too??

Thanks all <3

The people who were 'taking care of you' should have called an ambulance. Glad you are still with us. Throwing up a black tar like substance can mean you are suffering a stomach bleed. Don't know if it is related to being gluten intolerant but developing a tolerance for alcohol can be a sign of alcoholism. Please keep in mind that just because you don't feel drunk it doesn't mean that you won't be over the limit if you drive.

Well it hadn't happened again..but that's scary:( I learned my lesson from that night though.

And I don't drink very much! So it's not like I grew a tolerance to it..when I drink it's like my body is impaired but my mind stays sober..and I quit drinking all together because of this.

I agree with ravenwoodglass.
To me it sounds like an ulcer but tell the gastroenterologist about this before he scopes your stomach and small intestine.

I had the opposite problem of being too sensitive to alcohol which I attributed to leaky gut or celiac LOL.

So I stopped drinking a few years ago.

Good for you for quitting drinking, your Liver will love you and you will be safer at parties.

Back to the original topic, tar-like matter in vomit is an urgent call for medical help. It is not caused by gluten, but is a sign of internal bleeding. Call 911.

And to add to this...passed out and puking is also a 911 call. Unconscious people often aspirate the vomit and die.

Actually, passed out alone is a reason to call 911. You might want to re- think your choice in friends.

It was a long time ago, and you are still here to talk about it. Not a concern for you any more.

But for others who might read the topic, the information about this being a medical emergency may be helpful.

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
