Glutenease After Being Glutened

I didn't see anything else on this.

I would never risk taking it so I could eat gluten, but it did help me after being glutened.

A few days ago  got stupid after dealing with and difficult emotional situation. I was pretty upset and bought some cookiedough icecream with out even thinking about it. Stupid I know, but in my defence, it was a really, really bad day, but getting glutned only made it worse.

It wasn't until the symptoms started that it dawned on me. I had a sample of glutenease i had picked up at the healthfood store and it seemed to help. My fiance took me back there and we got a bottle Gluten-zyme and a few more of the samples of the gultenease.

Yesterday we had drive quite a distance. It was something I couldn't get out of so I was bracing myself for a compleatly miserable time. The glutenease samples helped quite a bit.I would feel better for a while after i took them. today howeer I am taking the gluten-zyme from the bottle, and I feel much worse than i did yesterday.

I am definetly wondering it brand makes a difference.

I have glutenease with me all the time. I very rarely eat anything I didn't make myself, but every once in a rare while we go to a restaurant I have had good luck with. I always take one before the food comes. it just makes me feel better as a proactive defense.

We don't use this brand -- but digestive enzymes are helpful -- nothing allows someone with Celiac Disease to eat gluten safely, but enzymes and other methods can relieve symptoms from accidental glutening.

That's good to know. Are digestive enzymes different from probiotics?

I just started taking Reishi spores for the arthritis-type pain (as opposed to GI distress). This pain is debilitating & worthy of a strong narcotic but NOT going that route. The past two days, I've taken it as soon as I wake up and it begins to work well at about 90 minutes in. So far, it is helping me become more active during a flare which makes me hurt more afterwards so I'm now taking Reishi A LOT.

I have Glutenease but don't think to take it before eating. I'll have to try it the next time I have the courage to go out to eat!

I have never heard of Reishi spores before. Sounds like something I could have have used yesterday.

Before I took those samples I wasn't aware that there was anything that could be done to alvivate glutening symptoms except suffer through it.

It is nice to know, since accidentlal glutening does happen, no matter how careful you are.

What you’re describing is actually very common, and unfortunately the timing of the biopsy likely explains the confusion. Yes, it is absolutely possible for the small intestine to heal enough in three months on a strict gluten-free diet to produce a normal or near-normal biopsy, especially when damage was mild to begin with. In contrast, celiac antibodies can stay elevated for many months or even years after gluten removal, so persistently high antibody levels alongside the celiac genes and clear nutrient deficiencies strongly point to celiac disease, even if you don’t feel symptoms. Many people with celiac are asymptomatic but still develop iron and vitamin deficiencies and silent intestinal damage. The lack of immediate symptoms makes it harder emotionally, but it doesn’t mean gluten isn’t harming you. Most specialists would consider this a case of celiac disease with a false-negative biopsy due to early healing rather than “something else,” and staying consistently gluten-free is what protects you long-term—even when your body doesn’t protest right away.

Yes, I meant if you had celiac disease but went gluten-free before screening, your results would end up false-negative. As @trents mentioned, this can also happen when a total IGA test isn't done.

I found at Disney springs and Disney they have specialist that when told about dietary restrictions they come and talk to you ,explain cross contamination measures tsken and work with you on choices. Its the one place I dont worry once I've explained I have celiac disease.  Thier gluten free options are awesome.

Have you tried Pure Encapsulations supplements? This is a brand my doctor recommends for me. I have no issues with this brand.
