Eating Pasta Two Days In A Row Knocks Me Out

Hi

I'm wondering if anyone else has this affect from pasta (gluten being the culprit, I believe).

If I eat my own home-made pasta (durum semolina flour, eggs, salt, water) 2 days in a row, I have to lie down and sleep for 1-2 hours after the meal.

This doesn't affect me on the first day I eat pasta, only on the second, and it happens every single time!

Does anyone else have this happen to them? Is it a mild gluten intolerance?

Thanks for your feedback

Mike

My gluten intolerance symptoms always seemed to get worse as time goes by, and i tended to feel my worst in the evenings. what you describe could be a gluten intolernace (celiac disease or otherwise) or it could be just an overload of carbs. You could request celiac testing (tTG igA and IgG, DGP IgA and IgG, EMA IgA, total serum IgA, and possibley AGA IgA and IgG) and perhaps start a food and symptoms journal so you can see how foods affect you. Often an intolerance will cause symptoms that linger for many days in various forms.

Good luck!

I'm leaning toward carb overload as well.

I know if i eat too many in a meal and such i feel tired afterward.

Your response on this matter is what I expect. You’ve had a similar episode years ago, but this one is lasting longer!

I'd like to clarify: Is the pain you describe in the area just below your chest constant, or does it only appear when you start moving?
