Am I intolerant to gluten?

Hi guys :)

For many years I have been suffering with unexplained fatigue/tiredness, anxiety, breathlessness, light headedness, dizziness, bloating & pains in my joints & despite exercising daily and getting enough sleep I still felt like crap almost all the time, I felt old and worn out! despite the fact I am only age 31. So I typed in my symptoms and came across "Wheat Belly" (I'm sure many of you have read it or heard about it) and I have been reading it...............for the past 3 days I have done an experiment - in which I have totally abstained from any gluten foods and most of my symptoms have GONE already. So despite not having a doctors assessment does it sound like I am gluten intolerant? I can't believe how much better I feel already.

Thanks. Gary.

Btw great forum & website.

Who knows if you have celiac disease (let me get my Magic 8 ball).  Kidding aside, the only way to know is to get back to eating gluten and ask your doctor for a celiac blood test.  Here's more information:

Why bother getting tested?  It's a genetic and first-degree relatives should be tested if you were positive.  It's also really hard to stay on the diet which is for LIFE without a diagnosis or a serious commitment.

I am glad that you feel better.  But all the celiac researchers strongly recommend getting tested before going gluten free.

I’m so glad they listened to your concerns!  I hope you get some answers from the MRI.

Had my MRI today I didn't have to have the manitol with my allergy's , I just had a litre of water , they were great with my concerns , so let's see if anything comes of if will keep posted once I have results 👍

Thank you ,it’s been a long road for me for having both now ,what upsets the most is that if they discovered that I also have cealiac earlier I would not have injested gluten if I was aware. Double whammy.

Some interesting articles regarding the use of Zinc Carnosine to help heal gastric ulcers, gastritis and intestinal permeability. I would consult a medical professional about it's use. https://www.nature.com/articles/ncpgasthep0778 https://www.rupahealth.com/post/clinical-applications-of-zinc-carnosine---evidence-review https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7146259/ https://www.fallbrookmedicalcenter.com/zinc-l-carnosine-benefits-dosage-and-safety/
