Hormel Chilli

I have never seen Hormel Chilli w/beans listed or talked about as gluten-free, but their website assures that it is. I used to love Nalley chilli, and I thought I would just have to give up chilli & cheese dip, but Hormel chilli is very comparable. It is good as a dip or on nachos or baked potatoes. The other chillis that are gluten-free like Stagg are just different. It occured to me that I might not be the only one who didn't know Hormel chilli was gluten-free, so thought I'd share.

Yes, I thank the Hormel food company every day. I have a drawer at work with like 10 cans of Hormel chili and 10 cans of Dinty Moore beef stew. They are both great quick food items that don't cost much either really.

Careful though, Hormel Chili HOT and another one are not gluten-free. I think it is the HOT anyways. I just buy the normal or the less sodium. Both the normal and the less sodium are gluten-free.

Hormel will clearly disclose gluten sources in the ingredient list. If you dont see the words wheat, barley, rye or oats, then they are not present.

the turkey chili has oatmeal. what the crap?! i was upset when i read that in the ingredients. we always made our chili dogs with it.

Their website says that the Hot chilli is gluten free? Maybe they've changed the ingredients. And oatmeal in chilli? That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of.

I have eaten the hot chili with no ill effects...

The one with gluten is the Chili with no beans...

I’m trying to find out why Hormel Beanless Chili has wheat and the w/ beans doesn’t.  I hate beans... :/

The info in this thread is more than ten years old.  I wouldn't go by it.

If you see wheat listed, then I think the people to ask "why" would be Hormel?

edit - just looked.  The ingredients I could find on line do not list wheat  they do list oatmeal.  So that is  possibly contaminated with wheat.  It has a lot of crazy ingredients I would never put in  my chili like MSG and hydrolized soy protein

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
