I also do the happy dance when I find something new that I can eat.

We better watch out though, people are going to start to think (with raised eyebrow) "Man, those celiacs are psycho!"!!! :lol:

I was that way before. When my son turned 14 he refused to go to Safeway anymore with me, they used to play classical music and I would dance the ballet, with leaps and pirouettes.

Paradise - that's what it felt like. Too bad the health food store is 4 hours from my house. I'm hoping next time I'm in that area I can find it again.

I can identify with all of you! When I found out I could have Hormel chilli, which is like Nalley's, I just about did a cartwheel in the aisle. I thought I would never have chilli dip again!

Another time, I found out there is a store about 20 minutes from my house that used to be just a low-carb store. He has hooked up with the local celiac group, and now he orders all the good stuff they recommend! They actually tell him which things to order! He has them try out new products and let him know if they're good or not. So all the stuff that I would have to order on the net-all in one place! I got butterflies in my stomach I was so excited! One cool thing they do is place various products on the counter and you can sample them. That is so helpful since I probably would have bought some disgusting crackers had I not tried them first!

It's amazing how even finding something on a fast food menu you can eat (Taco Bell Nachos Bel Grande minus the meat, extra cheese and sour cream, please!) seems like you won the lottery!!!

When I called Taco Bell (earlier this year) they told me that the only gluten free item they have is the refried beans. They said the other stuff was prepared in and with the flour items so it was all contaminated. Has this changed? If so, brace yourselves because I'll be "unnaturally" excited. :P

I found a store about an hour from my home that had a whole aisle plus lots of other gluten-free foods that i had only seen online. It felt like Christmas and hitting the lottery!!! I was so excited. My husband even got excited for me. I try to go there once a month now and I always find something new. THe only problem is I spend too much money! :ph34r:

      Are you asking if it is typical to only have the ttg-iga be high and the other tests being within normal range? Is so, the answer is it is very common. What other tests were included in the celiac panel? Can you list all tests and include not only the scores but the reference ranges? Different labs use different reference ranges so it is difficult to say...

      Levels on my celiac panel were within normal range except ttg iga which was tagged as high (646 mg/dl). Is that typical?

      A lot of people erroneously think soy is a problem for people needing to be on a gluten-free diet. Trents' comment above speaks to some celiacs also having a sensitivity to soy, but this is just some of them. However, soy sauce is something anyone following a gluten-free diet should be wary of. Many soy sauces contain wheat, which is where the soy/gluten...

Many soy sauces contain wheat, which is where the soy/gluten confusion comes into play. There is gluten-free soy sauce available, just read labels to be sure. I use San-J Tamari, which is gluten-free but does contain soy, in place of regular soy sauce.
