Wheat straw safe for celiac kids?

My daughter has celiac. Is it safe for her to be around/play in straw from wheat? We live on a farm and use the straw for bedding for our animals. Thanks

We have had some people have issues with this, the gluten is in the tops of the plant in the grain, if the child eats it, puts it in their mouth this can cause a issues. Due to the nature of it being a unground grain cross contamination concerns are greatly reduced but I would still avoid contact. Have them wash their hands when they come in, and insist they avoid rolling around in it.

I have Celiac Disease and I craft. I got pretty ill a couple of years ago while working with straw wreaths. Particles of the grain obviously contaminated the straw. I'm sure it's similar to eating naturally gluten-free items that run along the same assembly lines as those containing gluten. That's why oats processed in facilities that process wheat, barley, and rye are not necessarily safe.
