Perky O's

I found an ad in my Living Without magazine and I have to try Perky O's cereal (looks like Cheerios without the gluten)! I am trying to avoid shipping costs but at this point that looks like my only option. Has anyone found these at their grocery with other gluten-free items? Anyone ever tried them? What flavor did you like? I think they have a plain, frosted or apple cinnamon.

I haven't tried the perky o's for the same reason I can't find them on a store shelf.. I have tries glutino and the Heartland brands, I mixed them together. Heartland's was pretty good ......

Good Luck

I haven't been able to find them either. I do shop online and still can't find them at any of the places I shop. I love the Perky's Nutty Rice though.

JacobsMom-

I heard (I think thru this board) that they were have supply issues with the rice crunch'ems in December. I did see both the corn and the rice the other day at Whole Foods so I would try again to see if they are in stock!

I made my travels to a gluten free store 1&1/2 hours from my home, I found the Perky o's. they come in original.frosted, raspberry, andI think cinnamon.$18.00 + for three boxes of cereal!!!!!!!!!!! I opened the frosted and the original and mixed them plus I added some of perky's nutty flax for some fiber...It really needed something to add a bit of pizzaz to it..... I think out of Glutino, Heartlands and Perky's I'll take Heartlands honey nut ones........

Just wanted to let you know they are hitting the store shelves......

In my today' s mail was a flyer from the gluten free trader. There now is another O's cereal called "alien O's" from the gluten free zone. I have never heard of this company. They come in cinnamon & or raspberry flavors. It looks like every company got on the band wagon on this one.....

Oh yea, oddly when I received this flyer it was postmarked from Hong Kong---the company is from Milwaukee Wi. , can anyone explain that one to me????

Perky O's just became available through the co-op I belong to. The introductory sale is 15% off. That works out to $3.19 a box or $19.12 for a case of 6, 10.4 ounce size.

Do they taste good? Do kids really eat them?

so far, we like Heartland's the best.. Are brands are nice & crunchy but Glutino's stuck to my teeth and I didn't like that.......

remember there is alien, O's also.......

what choices in our gluten free world...............finally!!!!!!

It sounds like you have a very reasonable GI doctor, who diagnosed you based on family history and symptoms after eating gluten. I would consider you lucky! The other option would be to make yourself very sick by doing weeks of a gluten challenge prior to an endoscopy.

Hi Colleen H,   I suffered with the pins and needles/burning feeling in my legs and feet for at least  6 years until my Nephrologist figured out that I had to go on a low salt diet.  He said my kidneys weren't strong enough to remove the salt.  The simple fix was a diuretic, but that med leaves the uric acid behind, so that wasn't an option.  On the bright side the low salt diet lowered my BP over 20 points and and the pins and needles/burning feeling went away.  Good Luck and hope this helps.

Yes this is very frustrating for me ... not sure what to think.  Feels like I'm having reactions to a lot of things  Now applesauce?? I don't understand 😞

I did ... But aren't we going to be vitamin deficienct if we are not eating due to being sick ?? If the food we eat is gluten free and we have other sensitivities , how do we get out of the cycle??  Thank you

Anyone else get pins and needles. ??? Burning feeling ? Heat makes it so much worse 😔  Winter is here.  I had to lower my thermostat because I couldn't take that hot air feeling 😔  Hopefully it goes away soon
