HOLY COW THEY TASTE GOOD :lol: Been looking for a vitman that my toddler son not only COULD eat, but WOULD eat. Which all you parents know is TOUGH! Well few ppl here mention these "L'il Critters Gummy Vites" and I saw them in our grocery store. It says right on the bottle its gluten-free, and made on a dedidcatd gluten-free line. NO eggs either!!

Heck, I think they taste better then most of the gummie bear candy clones!! LOL. Our problem now is convincing our son that he can ONLY have ONE! :o Heck its hard to convince ME not to eat them like candy.

It has no artifical colors/flavors either, theres no way I could have predicted how GOOD these things taste!

If your looking for a vitman for you child, get these!

My mom has cancer -- had a difficult time on Chemo with "adult" vitamins -- she started taking these -- she loves them! She said that she wouldn't go back to regular vitamins! She gave me one -- you're right -- they're DELICIOUS!!

Awesome! I have a lot of trouble with grown-up vitamins, they tend to make me sick

I usually take flinstones (not now, but when I'm on a vitamin kick), are the gummies gentle on the tummy?

I do not believe Flinstones are gluten-free. :(

But that aside, I guess they are gentel on the tummy, I have no way to judge that though. Ive not had a problem nor has my son. :)

These are the only gluten-free vitamins I can get my kids to take. I also give them the L'il Critters Calcium Gummy Bears. They are sour fruit flavors.

Vincent, you can give give your son two a day as a full dose. :)

Well they say from 2 to 4yrs old 1 per day, after that 2 per day. Even still I am not sure giving him 1 more will make it easier  might just encourage him to go for more!

Sorry about the misinformation. The bottle I have says 2 per day. It does NOT have an age range. It has been a while since I bought any. We buy the giant bottle at Costco and it lasts well over a month if my 3 kids remember to take them everyday, which they never do. <_< I think last time we bought 2 or 3 bottles, so it has been a while. They must have changed the bottle since then.

I just looked at my bottle and it agrees with what you said, this page on thier web site :

Is where I got the 2-4 info from. Odd. OKay well maybe I will let him have two then LOL that should be fun!

gf4life Enthusiast

That was a funny little webpage there.

If a child accidentally ate an entire 60-count bottle of Gummy Vites, the effects would be similar to those experienced after eating 5 ounces of plain gummy bear candy: upset stomach or stomach pain, temporary constipation or diarrhea.

I'd be concerned if they were eating the whole bottle! Especially since the bottles we get are 200-count!

We have also tried the Fruit and Veggie Bears. I thought they would be good when on vacation and my kids are not eating as many fruit/veggies as they normally do. They were okay, but sort of melted into a blob on the way home from the store (1 hour drive) and we had to peel them apart. It wasn't even very warm, so if you try them I suggest at least keep them in an ice chest on the way home if you have a longish drive!

we like these too, I've tried to get Chey to take other vitamins and most of the gluten free ones we find, she won't touch. We used to get a childrens multi v from Dollar Tree, but the ones around here stopped carrying them, so... I got the Lil Critters and we both love em.

I like the *accidental* part of the statment. Oops, I accidentally kept reaching into the jar and accidentally put more in my mouth and accidentally chewed and accidentally swallowed and accidently repeated the motion SIXTY TIMES :o

My dd and I love them as well. I recently discovered that they come in larger bottles. I had been buying them at Wal-mart but at Walgreen's I found the 120 count! She used to take Hero Nutritionals Yummi Bears but they're sour. She liked them of awhile and then got to where she wouldn't take them. They also say gluten-free on the bottle. That makes life so much easier dosen't it!!

I had a problem with the gluten-free adult vitamin that I was taking previously because it made my stomach really hurt. I do great with the gummies. I just take a FEW throughout the day to space them out.... :D My dd is 3 1/2 and I usually give her two.

So, what you're saying is, I shouldn't be eating 5 Calcium bears and 3 gummy vites after my kids go to bed?

EXACTLY! Dontcha hate when that happens to you?

 I guess that depends on how many you had before they went to bed!

Thanks for the tip, but I dont think the sour varities woudl go over well here.

gf4life Enthusiast

Vincent, when you said that about the "sour" not going over very well at your house, the first thing I though was man my kids can't get enough sour! Then I thought about the ones I had gotten (about 2 years ago) were NOT sour. So I went back to the website and there you go, sour! They must have had other people complain about how easily they melted, then reformulated them and made them sour. My kids might like them better now! I'll have to check them out again. :D

We love these vitamins. They taste just like gummy bears! My son begs for them. I have to keep them up really high so he can't get to them. It is tempting to eat more than two. How many can adults have? :D

We love those here!!

I'm on a multi vitamin quest for my daughter too. So they are gluten and egg free. Are they also dairy free? The site did not list the ingredients.

I'm so psyched!! I found these vitamins at Sams Club! A big bottle for a reasonable price!! I can't wait to give them to her tommorrow. We don't do anything new during the week in case of problems.

Anyone have a calcium recommendation - something NOT cultured on dairy?

I would like to say you saved me. I’ve been so sick the last few years, celiac since 1997. And reading your post about the other glutens/grains that can be sensitive to celiacs, is the only thing that has ever helped me. Since going off a carbohydrates/grains, even gluten-free ones, My chronic pain is  85% better. I’m actually losing weight which, that’s a long story but was impossible. I definitely am like you. Thank you so very much for posting. For some of celiacs I do believe this is the magic key.

I 100% believe if you were sticking gluten items, especially flour, and breathed it in you could be glutened. I’m a celiac for almost 30 years. For the first ten years as a celiac I’d help my polish family make pierogis at Christmas time. I would only cook them at the stove and I didn’t touch anything with my hands using spoons. But the flour is in the air. And I’d get violently ill for 1-2 weeks after the last few years I did it. Wearing a back is a great suggestion and washing your clothes and showering when you get home. Good luck. And I’m so sorry your parents are emotionally supporting you.

Have you had your thyroid checked? I was diagnosed at 24 with celiac. Lost my period permanently at 32. Found out six months after I lost my period that I had 1 ovary with 1 follicle. I had a child already but wanted more. Ended up having two more children with one ovary and one follicle. But my doctors theories are if I would have gotten my thyroid checked sooner and fixed through medication, maybe things would look different. Who knows. I only share my experience so you question your doctors and advocate. Always see an endocrinologist for thyroid care fyi. Actually always see the specific Dr for your specific ailments. I’d also consider seeing a gynecologist that specializes in female hormones/menopausal symptoms. Early ovarian failure happens in celiacs so I read  on the celiac disease center in Chicago website.

This. Scott said it beautifully. Document and start a trial gluten-free diet. I can also recommend an inflammation dietitian I saw last summer if interested. She’s the only one who helped me on a path to healing through an elimination diet. Which is tricky with your little one. But I completely trust her, she’s very expensive though. I figured out I’m sensitive to so many things and follow a gluten-free diet religiously. Just had an upper and lower endoscopy/colonoscopy and zero signs of celiac disease so they said. I’m a celiac since 1997. But my 33 yr old daughter is very gluten intolerant since 20 yrs old.
    • DebD5
I so appreciate you talking about this. Honestly I’m so sick the most part of the last 15 years, I’m going to cross reference your list with my own. Celiac since 24 yrs old diagnosed in 1997. I just saw a specific celiac GI specialist at the celiac disease center in Chicago and when I told her all the food reactions I was having she said she believed me but there was no clinical evidence to support my reactions(I felt so unseen, she recommended I see a gut psychologist, what the heck). I react with severe body aches to bloating and dizziness to exhaustion:  most lectins except berries and low lectin veg, no eggs, no nightshade veg, no dairy, all carbohydrates including no gluten-free carbs or grains, though a little coconut flour seems ok now, need to test other non grains, certain alcohols that say gluten-free but looking into their process further I get horribly sick if distilled through a gluten grain example Costco vodka….. Because I had an upper and lower GI in 1997(I was 24 and 84#s) and my GI doc came back with celiac disease, this new doc suggested I may not be a celiac. Is running some blood test. Omg. I can’t even. I’m so beyond frustrated.
